Why do people make a big deal out of shark attacks? If dolphins really do rape humans,
why are we not trying to kill them all?

true, but do you think that the western lady would have the same level of social respect or popularity if she was wearing bland, cheap, non revealing clothing? how acceptable is it in western society for a woman to dress for comfort and not mini skirts and tube tops that require adjustment every 20 seconds? why is it that a woman in a sexually provocative pose is in every car, tractor, and beer commercial? the Islamic world sees the use of women as sexual objects as the true crime against women's rights.

it is as acceptable in Islam for a woman to wear a burqa as it is for her to dress in any other clothing which is non revealing ( a shirt, long skirt, loose jeans etc). The burqa and face veil are cultural and not religious things. The real purpose behind this is to prevent woman from becoming sexual object and instead being co-humans. Contrary to popular belief muslim women are allowed to work, attain as much education as they please and in fact Islam gave property and inheritance rights 1200 years before 'Murica or any other western country. and if you actually study Islam you come to know that women have it better than men, that would explain why the ratio of converts to Islam in the western world leans heavily towards women.

and in any cross-culture or religious comparison you end up in the same conundrum as this.

like i said that cultural and not religious, other Islamic governments such as Iran and Pakistan have women pilots, women in combat front line forces, and an extensive presence in parliament. In fact Pakistan had a female head of government before many many western governments, and also had a 3 star female general before the west.

#208 to #107 - lakerman (05/29/2013) [-]
Anon's argument was "Literacy rates for women are lower than men in every Islamic country" i posted non-Islamic nations that also fit that description; furthermore all his counter arguments were developed nations and he could not come up with a non-Islamic nation that was underdeveloped for an example

Furthermore anon ignored Qatar (96.5% male to 95.4% female), Oman (86.8% male to 90% female), and Kuwait (94.4% male to 97% female); which are developed Islamic nations with male to female disparity within 1% trending towards males

When did this become a religious debate? I thought it was about cultural differences from the beginning. You can't argue religious morals from the perspective of men. I would sooner debate the Islam fundamentals. This is a cultural debate, and I think women need to cover up more. Here's a story from something that happened to me yesterday:

I was helping a friend paint a house when his wife showed up wearing short shorts. I tried to be friendly to her as usual, but I found her attire too distracting for casual interaction, so I just ignored her more than usual. I think that confused her and she felt bad, so I have something to say to the women: If you're still looking for a guy, wear your scanty outfits if you must, but if you're looking to hang out put on some clothes, damn it.
#178 to #151 - anon (05/28/2013) [-]
Women should also try to look as attractive as possible. That's their job. Look ******* sexy. They're sex objects.
User avatar #200 to #178 - cabbagemayhem (05/28/2013) [-]
Roll your tongue back into your mouth, bro. My friends' wives aren't sex objects to me. There's a difference between looking good and being sexy. If you're trying to get laid, walking around naked might work, but if you don't want to scare your husbands true bros away, be respectable.
#207 to #200 - anon (05/29/2013) [-]
That shouldn't scare you away. These words I live my life by when it comes to girls even when i'm in a relationship: "you can look, but you can't touch." Words to live by. It's a compliment. You're saying they're attractive.
User avatar #212 to #207 - cabbagemayhem (05/29/2013) [-]
You don't seem to understand. There's a difference between between looking good and dressing slutty, and a difference between objective aesthetics and what gives you a boner. Some people can't differentiate what they like and what they like to **** , but think about it like this: Would you tell your bro's wife she has nice legs, squeezable breasts, and incredible curves? No. The only purpose of showing off these features is to make you think of sex. Everyone knows that.

Well then, like many Christians they're doing it wrong.
And I'd still say Western Women have more rights.
User avatar #31 to #30 - beanieman (05/28/2013) [-]
yes, I agree that western women have more rights, but these rights have only been granted in the last few centuries. where as Muslim women have enjoyed property, business, taxation, inheritance rights for many a century. but there exist social stigmas in both societies, where by in the western world women are forced to be sexual objects, and behave in a way which exacerbates their femininity, where as the Islamic society has come to a point where women are deprived of the rights granted to them by Islamic law.
User avatar #33 to #30 - beanieman (05/28/2013) [-]
the present imam of Mecca (the closest thing the Muslims have to a pope, though such a position does not exist) tweeted that "I see no creation as blessed as women, for as a daughter she is a path to heaven for her parents, as a wife she is the path to heaven for her husband, as a mother heaven itself is beneath her feet(i.e. heaven is attained through service to your mother)"

From my experience, I've found that women who cover themselves up more without being self righteous and bitchy about it command more respect. You don't respect a girl who walks around in skimpy clothing you just want to **** her. It's very different.

Actually in Saudi Arabia (and elsewhere where sharia law is applied) the punishment for rape is death; If it is found that the woman was actually raped (forced to have sex with penetration occurring) in this case only the rapist will be killed. If however she had sex out of free will, and later said she was raped the punishment is death in case of adultery (married person having sex with someone that is not their spouse) or 80 lashes for fornication(sex between unmarried persons) in this case both the male and female will be punished.

#76 to #14 - anon (05/28/2013) [-]
In any case, the woman will be whipped, because she was somewhere in public without a male relative to supervize her.
Bonus beatings if she drove a car or even entered someone elses car and was raped there. Women are worth less and treated worse than donkeys in Saudi-Barbaria.
#181 to #76 - anon (05/28/2013) [-]
And they should be treated like that because that's what they are. They should ******* know the laws of the damn place they live. Don't complain when you get in trouble when you knowingly are breaking the law. No matter how much you WISH it wasn't like that, the FACT is that is the law and you need to obey it.

You are right if the world wasn´t a ******** .

Saudi Arabia may be for some the most Islamic and holy country on the whole world. but it isn´t.
Saudi Arabia and several other countries (Kuwait, U.A.E, Oman)
Are probable one of those countries that should eat a atom bomb just because there is the option to.
"But user missing you probable are a Nazi feminist who hates other religions."
No, I am not. I am Muslim myself and I had several family members who went to one of those 4 countries for work.
One of there many stories is that you are being treated as a dog.

Only exception is that you don't get the luxury of a leash with a collar. You are forced to pray everyday on the exact same time in the mosque. If they find out that you skipped a day say hello to mister police bureau. (you get a strike whenever you miss a prayer. Get 3 strikes and you either go to jail or a one way ticket back to your country)
Look to long to a woman? That's a paddle.
Let a woman drive? That's a paddle.
make music? That's a paddle.
Use drugs and drink alcohol while you **** hookers in the ass? Nothing wrong with it if you are rich or have a good status.
Chain your construction slaves up because you are afraid they will run away? no problem here.
Rape several poor students just for the kick? You got the cash, you make the rules.

So basically the world is sexist against men

****** time to be a man
#84 to #68 - anon (05/28/2013) [-]
How is it sexist to kill the man if he forced himself upon a woman? If the woman lies about being raped she dies too. If they both outright admit they were just having sex they'll probably just be beaten, with the woman being beaten worse for being out without a male relative to supervise her. I fail to see the sexism. The best course of action would be to just admit the sex was consensual if caught because, you know, no one dies and being killed for lying is a strong deterrent to anyone thinking about making false accusations.
