>Atheism

Can you stop mixing those 2 things like they are the same?
EINSTEIN was jewish. A lot of atheists believe in all kind of retarded BOLLOCKS.
You're a faggot. You're acting just like the religious bigots you despite so much, and giving non-religious people a bad name.

I think this might be what he is getting at:

"In 2009, the Pew Research Center for the People and the Press polled members of the American Association for the Advancement of Science on belief in a higher power. The study found that 51 percent of members polled expressed such a faith, compared to 95 percent of the American public. Additionally, the National Academy of Science charted belief in God as low as 5.5 percent among biologists and 7.5 percent among physicist and astronomers in a 1998 study."

zzz if you're an atheist because you want proof for a god or whatever and believe in some pseudo scientific bs, then isnt that just a special kind of retard?

As an atheist you do not believe in any higher power, you might be a ******* lunatic or paranoid but aside from that there is no reason why you shouldn't trust science and ignore the rest and therefore this post shouldn't be considered offensive.

Actually Einstein did not believe in a personal god. believing in god and being religious are two different things, you can believe in god and still be a full blown scientist, but if you're very religious, most of the more popular religions make scientific claims it can not prove.

Let's take heaven and hell for an example, if a man lives in the amazon forest away from civilization and has built a home for him and his wife along with his two children and treats his family very well and with a loving heart, brings them fruit and grows vegetables for them, how come then that just because he doesn't even know about the christian religion he's going to hell for not worshipping god? and if he still goes to heaven, why should we bother him with christianity? why tell him? just so we can put more rules on him and the possibility of hell?

Sure, Atheists CAN believe **** like homoeopathy, astrology, etc. but think about it, if they think "An omnipotent being? No proof. Can't exist." then they're pretty unlikely to also think "magical healing crystals which show no scientifically detectable emissions? Seems legit.".

What would you know if an omnipotent being could exist? We can't even fully understand our own world, not to mention space and the universe itself and you want, with your little human brain, try to answer the biggest question in the universe? When you get to know quantum physics, dimensions, time and stuff, you start to realize that there's so much room for theories and possibilities. I'm not trying to say "Of course there's a god out there and you're stupid for being an atheist", but I'm saying that someone can think "An omnipotent being? Can exist". Believing is a choice, just like the Big Bang theory, which by now is just a theory which everyone seems to choose to belive given that there are a lot more theories, like the stationary universe and such. I can honestly say I'm really interested in science and I believe in God too, and I think there's room for both without being in relation with each other

Of course it can't be denied that we know very little about the universe, and there very well could be one or perhaps multiple gods. However, without evidence, I wouldn't blindly believe in something like that. I can see how it can be considered a theory, but for other theories, we put them through scrutiny and try to poke holes in them as much as possible. People have been doing this to religious texts for a long time, mainly the bible. Someone simply believing it is illogical to shun the idea of an god is just fine, but dedicating your Sundays to them, praying to them, and pledging your life to them with no evidence is something I don't agree with.
I'm not really sure why you brought that up though, my comment being about other things that atheists would most likely not believe.

Einstein's views about religious belief have been collected from interviews and original writings. He said he believed in the "pantheistic" God of Baruch Spinoza, but not in a personal god, a belief he criticized. He called himself an agnostic, while disassociating himself from the label atheist.

-Wikipedia, nig

But also, I agree, atheism and science are in no way the same thing. The agnostic approach would probably be the closest to empirical science.

I think it's more associated with science because something like %90 of scientists are atheists/agnostics. Though yeah, there are plenty of idiots out there that are far more idiotic than a Buddhist monk that spent his entire life dedicated to the philosophies of life.

Remember Stalin? He was an atheist, and as far as I'm concerned, not only was he the greatest secular murderer of all time, he was a ******* moron and a majority of the people's lives he destroyed were destroyed because he had no bloody clue on how to run a country.

I don't see what you're saying. I do, however, have counterarguments to my two best guesses at what you are saying.

if you mean to say that declaring yourself an atheist does nto automatically grant one the mental capacity to blow oneself up, I would venture to say that it is probably not very difficult to blow oneself up, and that any idiot could manage it, even by accident.

if you mean to say that declaring yourself an atheist does not automatically make one a scientist, i would like to point out that declaring yourself to be of any religion does not automatically make you a priest.

if you mean to say something completely different, call me an idiot for not understanding and elaborate.

The middle eastern people who suicide bomb have been given the idea that they will be rewarded in the afterlife for killing their enemies by sociopathic, yet charismatic men acting on their religious beliefs. The fact that their 'enemies' are just one of many reasons they do it. There are economic, religious, and militaristic reasons for their bombing, yet the media only really focuses on the religious part to make them all seem like crazy religious fanatics.

Stalin, and Mao used their political beliefs as the basis of their purges, albeit for different reasons, Stalin wanted control and to control more of Europe and to stop any 'counter-revolutionaries' and political opponents. Mao wanted to cause a revolution in his country and to step away from it always being ruled by an Emperor and to spread his version of communism through China.

To say they did it because they were atheist is ********, just like it's ******** to say people do it because they are religious.
