I think everyone should wait with the ******* judgments for E3. Microsoft just wanted to show how the Xbox One was something for the whole family. They know they'll get their chance to show games at E3.
The reveal was for EVERYONE

the wii u is actually being out sold by the original wii and the psvita
User avatar #186 to #167 - indecisivejew (05/26/2013) [-]
It was only outsold by the vita in February. I believe every other month WiiU has outsold Vita. Also, 360 and PS3 were outsold by PS2 for the entire first year that they were out.

That said, the WiiU is not doing all that well in sales. But it also isn't completely tanking, and it is still in a position that will allow it to bounce back hard when Mario Kart and Smash Bros. get released.

I find it pretty crazy that now that Nintendo is actually getting serious into the gaming market then the more family friendly Wii was the other consoles are completely forgetting what a gaming console is made for.

Xbox One is just ******** out a bunch of different features at their conference, but most of it dealing with social crap, TV, etc. Same goes for PS4, but the difference was that they actually showed some ******* sexy trailers and demos for upcoming games.
Although Square Enix pissed me the **** off showing the same tech demo shown a few months back and saying, "look out for E3 guys!"

I'm just waiting to see how Sony is planning to use the PS Vita for the PS4, I bought the Vita a long time ago and it just collects dust thanks to Sony not giving it the attention it deserves.

The Wii U so far just cuts through the ******** and is actually a straight up game console. I may not buy it yet, but depending on how Sony and Microsoft do at E3 I may get a Wii U, all they need is to make a Fatal Frames game on it and I'm sold.

Pic not so relevant.

Omg the stupidity in this post hurts. Right not you're essentially implying that because a console can do more than one thing that automatically makes it worse for gaming. That is one of the stupidest things I have ever heard. You do realize that the first launch of the Xbox One was to show it off as an ecosystem and they didn't mention many games because their E3 conference was coming up and they would announce it there, right? No, because you're stupid and just talking out of your ass?
The Wii U is just for joke party games it's never been more than that and that's fine because it's for a certain demographic. But you implying that it is more ******** gaming than an Xbox is one of the most moronic things I've ever heard.

I just cannot believe that your argument is that because the Xbox can do more it's automatically bad for gaming, did you not even see the tons of features they announced to be used for gaming?
#183 to #122 - wagastragas ONLINE (05/26/2013) [-]
the attributes are nice, but i buy gaming consoles for well GAMING, so if i watch a conference i want to hear what its new with the console and how it integrates with the games.

also what with bashing the wiiu, it got " ******** games" also the wii, just the mass thinking and mouth to mouth says its a kidish console, i could list you a fine list of second/third party "hard core" games for it

anywys what with that stupid term of " ******** " game are games since i played in a ibm machine with a monitor that didnt even had colors, all i see ppl relate ******** to its generic games mostly fps
#147 to #122 - uerthe (05/26/2013) [-]
A lot of people watched the Xbox One conference expecting to see info about a game console and more about the hardware. Instead they talk about tv and voice commands etc. and losing focus of the games too much imo.
Also, COD is a multiplatform game so it doesn't count.
However they did say 15 exclusives first year of Xbox One. so, you never know how things might turn out.
User avatar #140 to #122 - manbob (05/26/2013) [-]
You know you just look brash by being insulting. No one can take you seriously because they think you will just be mad and fly off the handle when conversing/debating/etc. But back to the topic on hand. The reason why people have become angry at the xbox one is not because it lacks games, but because Microsoft focused on the other aspects of the xbox one during the press conference. I'm waiting till E3 to make a formal opinion on it, but as for now I'm not to impressed. I feel like Microsoft is trying to make the xbox one into a computer but worse.
User avatar #148 to #140 - ericzxvc (05/26/2013) [-]
Yes, but people need some sort of deterrent for making illogical things up. It's trying to make it into an ecosystem, it's trying to have games and more. That's a good thing and I really don't understand how people like you possible few more features as a bad thing. As I mentioned below every single gaming worker on the Xbox team STILL exists and MORE, they simply expanded their team to have more people who could work on other features. So the gaming is suffering ZERO from this and it simply gets more features. And you wonder why I'm insulting people when there's people like you making the statement that having more features is a bad thing when it comes at the cost of nothing.
User avatar #153 to #148 - manbob (05/26/2013) [-]
I never said that more features was a bad thing. I'm looking at it as a corporate head view. The corporate head is trying to make a *********** of money, and he will do it any way he can. These corporate heads don't appreciate the gaming market like the game designing team does. So I'm just worried that Microsoft will make the Xbox team focus more on things other than games causing the gaming portion of the Xbox to suffer. that's my opinion and my fear for the xbox one. But i could be completely wrong and I understand that. That's why I'm waiting till E3 to make my final and formal opinion. Also eric (I'm guessing that's your name) again by being insulting others no one will appreciate your opinion. I said nothing that was unintelligent, yet you make it seem like I am. I was just stating my opinion based off the research I have done.
User avatar #139 to #122 - indecisivejew (05/26/2013) [-]
Its funny, because Nintendo games actually are more ******** than most Xbox games. If you play games enough you learn to understand that the amount of skill and knowledge required to play a game are not correlated with the amount of guns in the game or its color scheme (or lack thereof).
User avatar #138 to #122 - joehue (05/26/2013) [-]
I never said anything about " ******** ", I said that the Wii U is just focusing more on games versus its predecessor the Wii and what the current conferences from Sony and Microsoft gave us. Sony did its part, gave us some stuff(Even though it wasn't too much) and promised more for E3. Microsoft just kept showing off the features for the most part.

I also said at the end, "depending on how Sony and Microsoft do at E3", so I'm fully aware of what could possibly come. I NEVER implied anything, I just said that the consoles were focusing so much in the conferences on the social features, that they didn't even leave much for gaming. Even some of the games at Sony was gloating about how it uses a bunch of social features to "enhance" the game. (The racing game)

That's cute though, sure they've got games for some good coop fun, but they've put a bigger focus on a wide variety of games with FPS games, Monster Hunter and other titles soon to come.

Your first mistake was implying, I never implied the consoles were **** , I just said that they're focusing too much on the features versus what the console is actually made for. Yeah, it came out negative, but I didn't go out and say "PS4 AND XBOX ONE BLOWS THE WII U" or anything.

It's cool though you can go ahead and twist my words around.

User avatar #143 to #138 - jimbobji (05/26/2013) [-]
I'm on your side because you actually know (and want more) fatal frame/Project Zero.
I haven't read both of these comments fully (I'm too lazy), but I read you r first one. I don't think the Xbox One will be a bad console because it has more features than games. I do think that advertising it as something that's more suited to other media than games makes it a bad console (I make no sense, I understand this.)

Again, I didn't read the whole argument, so I'm sorry if my rant wasn't relevant.

User avatar #151 to #143 - joehue (05/26/2013) [-]
We were basically just ranting about what they showed at the conference and how the Wii U seems to become a bigger and bigger competitor.

I don't think the consoles will be bad, but they just destroyed their hype, with the conference and now they have to make that up in E3. When I was explaining, what they should have done is get us hyped up here and make us seal the deal at E3, but now they have to sort of 'redeem' themselves so to speak.

Hell yeah for Fatal Frames though, The controller for the Wii U is PERFECT for it, can definitely see that being used as the camera.
User avatar #170 to #151 - jimbobji (05/26/2013) [-]
Tecmo, please make Project U. That would be the best game ever.
User avatar #168 to #151 - jimbobji (05/26/2013) [-]
Ahhh, there's no doubt that the Xbox conference was a bag of dicks.
I agree that microsoft will have to do something big to win us over. I mean, the PS4 conference did things a lot better. They showed games and actual gameplay, not cutscenes and live-action... thing, but they didn't show the console. This creates the good kind of hype, as most people don't care too what their consoles look like, but they do care what the gaming capabiities are, so people will think "ohh, those games look interesting! But wait! I wonder what the next iteration might look like..." Microsoft did the exact opposite.

To me, a gaming console is primarily focused on games. If they have extra stuff, that's fantastic (Although, like in the Wii U, some features could be great for gameplay. (Miiverse)).

TL;DR If you're going to present your games console for the first time, play up its unique gameplay features; not the other **** .
opps, another rant... Sorry!
User avatar #141 to #138 - ericzxvc (05/26/2013) [-]
Your reasoning is still flawed. The reason they spent so much time on the other stuff is because there's so much more other stuff, and that's a good thing, the more I get with it the better because I do not only game on my console. Just because they spent a certain percentage of time on announcing gaming in no way does it make it bad for gaming, who cares what they decided to present, is it really hurting you if they didn't talk as much as you would have liked on gaming? They will have better gaming then the Wii U, they always have and they most likely always will. The ONLY reason the Wii U spent more time talking about gaming is because they didn't have all these bonus features, and you're some how counting that as a bad thing.
Just one more anecdote. The Xbox team is comprised of thousands of people, all the people focused on gaming all still exist they simply expanded to make more people for the extra features; gaming doesn't suffer in ANY way.
User avatar #150 to #141 - joehue (05/26/2013) [-]
We know that they wanted to show off the features, but they didn't need to take most of the conference to do so. The conference is supposed to be where they build the hype for the system, to make us excited and purchase the console at the bat of an eye.
As you can see from the reaction though from the people, it didn't do that.

E3 can make it up, but what they should have done is hype us up at the conference and then seal the deal at E3, now they have to redeem themselves at E3 to get our attention again.

Yeah, my reasoning may be flawed, but that's all subjective, just like how you see it as something else, I see the opposite of that.

If you're talking about their online MMORPG games, FFXI Online was a hit.
They let success of the FF series get to their heads though and put out that God forsaken incomplete game known as FFXIV online.
They're remaking it, but it may already be too late.

What I'm pissed is that they give mediocre games like FF13 three games, when they could attempt to make better games or even sequels to great ones like FF 6. That's just me blurting out my own opinion though, the gameplay was nice and all, but FF13 wasn't the best and isn't exactly deserving of 2 more games.
User avatar #162 to #117 - Tyranitar (05/26/2013) [-]
I think they killed any appeal 7 had by milking it the way they did. Crisis Core was alright, but everything else was completely unnecessary. 7 wasn't even all that great, in my opinion, people just got overhyped because it was the first one in 3D.

I honestly feel that 1, 4, 6, 8, 9, and 12 (if you remove Vaan and Penelo) were the best in the series. And Tactics was just amazing, even though its not one of the main series. And I'm looking forward to the 8 and 10 HD versions, though I wish they would just drop 10-2 out of the deal.
