>Record breaking sales because it has little competition
>Shooters are easy to market. "Look! Big ******* guns! Lots of action! BUY THIS GAME!
>Based on track record of Call of Duty and past experience, a pre-determined judgement probably isn't that far off the mark.

Doesn't really make what I said less true. Shooters are indeed easy to market, but you can't say it has little competition. It has competition from all the other big name series. (At least ten) If you didn't enjoy the last CoD games, then by all means, it is fair to say you probably won't like the new one. Still, I try to keep an open mind when it comes to games. For instance, did I like the previous Tomb Raider games? I wasn't really a fan, but I tried the new one and really enjoyed it. It was a refreshing game.

And Justin Bieber continues to top the charts. They both have way more 13 year old fan girls than society can handle

You're right, I should just jump on the CoD hating bandwagon, it's so much easier, and it's the civilized thing to do.

Uber pleb.

Still the truth.

3/4 of the buyers are just the ****** parents who spoil the personality out of their middle school children.

That's also why the community is ******* terrible.
User avatar #208 to #102 - Yojimbo (05/24/2013) [-]
Doesn't make what I said less true, but something to consider: Any game with a big multiplayer community has lots of little kids. And are they really that bad? It takes one second to mute them, and honestly there are more annoying older people in the lobbies.

how did all of the games end huh...
User avatar #209 to #83 - Yojimbo (05/24/2013) [-]
You really want to hear an in depth summary of the endings of all the Call of Duty games? Or do you want me to say "They all end with you killing the main bad guy" Because NEWSFLASH: That's how most action games end

thumb me down all you like but i haven't bought any call of duty games since MW2, after that everytime when they came out and i watched content and felt like playing it, i just played MW1, the best game of the entire franchise. As one sided as it may sound, I just find that Call of Duty games come out every year and have lost all their novelty, just like any sports game from EA and any AC game.
#76 to #52 - envinite (05/23/2013) [-]
So basically, you prefer games that comes out after some years?

Now look at BF3.
#91 to #76 - anon (05/23/2013) [-]
it doesnt have to be years, the thing is EA and Activions couldnt give a **** about the gamers opinion, if it sells, they make more of it.

ARMA is a whole other thing though..
User avatar #93 to #91 - envinite (05/23/2013) [-]
Isn't it the basic of all companies? If it sells, make more of it. Same with ARMA, rite?

Both EA & Activisions also listen to the gamer's opinion, but not all of them. It's like ARMA fulfill all of their fans wishes, like turning full mods into standalone games.
#210 to #93 - anon (05/24/2013) [-]
the difference is that ARMA's publisher and developer is Bohemia interactive, which means that there is less people forcing things to be done and WAY better end result.
User avatar #211 to #210 - envinite (05/24/2013) [-]
> Better end result
Nah, it's just your opinion. ARMA is a great game, it's pretty realistic that it become boring as hell. Also, ARMA is a real bitch for low-near high PC spec, worse than Frostbite 2 in BF3, that's why only some people can enjoy it.

In the end, it's all just a matter of opinion.
You prefer Bohemia Int. because their ARMA games, I love my Activision for their CoD, and some people love EA for their BF3. It's just silly when people feel superior than other because they like different things.
User avatar #34 to #25 - germed (05/23/2013) [-]
Maybe if Activision wasn't releasing the same **** with a quick re-skin every year we wouldn't judge it before release. I know what to expect from CoD and personally I can't stand it; a boring generic shooter with of solid portion of the community being annoying 8th graders that think it's funny to be a little dickhead on the mic with their inverted testicles.
User avatar #39 to #34 - Yojimbo (05/23/2013) [-]
Being realistic, all games with a big multiplayer community have annoying 8 year olds. It's possible CoD has more because of it's sales records, but this site/ the CoD hating bandwagon greatly exaggerates how much worse it is than other games.

I agree that the Modern Warfares were pretty much the same. They didn't really change much. Still, I think they've realized they need to step up their game. They've hired a good writer (He wrote the Oscar winning movie "Traffic" if anyone has seen it, good film), and there are all kinds of rumors flying around about new game engines/mechanics.

It is just plain unfair to judge a game before it comes out. If it comes out and is the same as the last few, I will join you in your berating of Activision/ CoD. Until then though, I will keep an open mind
#92 to #39 - anon (05/23/2013) [-]
I doubt that counts in ARMA (not DayZ)
