If I was a fameus author I oculd publish a back with ten different endings
which all went tn print with varying degrees at rarity, but not tell the fans
about it so that I would watch their as they disagree dyer how the
story ended. Then when they figured it out I would 'come clean', telling them
that I had released eleven alternate endings and watch them panic again as
they all try to find the last ending.
This is perfect.

he changed the number of endings from 10 to 11.
#217 to #216 - megamad (05/22/2013) [-]
exactly, everyone would be in panic trying to find the 11th ending that doesn't exist.
User avatar #218 to #217 - lykabaus (05/22/2013) [-]
i thought the panic would be over the ten different endings,
since the secret that the endings were different wouldnt be
released to the public. This is just my interpretation of it.

If i was a famous author I would write a book with DLC's so people would have to pay to find out the ending or alternate ending

That is the most evil thing I have heard today.

As a writer, I'm going to keep this idea in mind...

On another note, Clue (the movie) did something similar to this when it first hit theaters. No two showings had the same ending, since (of course) it would portray a different person each time as the ******** depending on what ending a person saw.
User avatar #203 to #201 - calawesome (05/21/2013) [-]
Yeah, it had three. One where Green was a cop, one where Boddy was the killer, and I think the other one was about Ms Peacock.

I've always wanted to make a book with an amazing plot that ends on a cliffhanger, and then never make the sequel.
Maybe even skip to book 3 or 4.

There was this Silver Surfer cartoon I used to watch as a kid, first season ended in a cliff hanger and I never knew how it ended since no new episodes were shown. Just recently I checked it and turns out the second season was cancelled, I was never so disappointed in my life.

I'm writing a book now and I've contemplated ending it with the protagonist about to make a choice, then making two sequels, one for each choice. It sounds like fun, but it would take forever to do.

I know a book where there are two ways to read it.
You can either :
1 - read them from the first to the ninth
2 - take one of the other paths suggested behind the book
It goes in a diamond shape like in the picture
#179 to #177 - jamesisawesome (05/21/2013) [-]
I must know of this series.

It's only in french :/ sorry...
User avatar #181 to #180 - yyh (05/21/2013) [-]
Still, what's it called?
User avatar #182 to #181 - mattseven (05/21/2013) [-]
Zoombira, I think it was written by some Canadian french dude. (and there's actually 10 books, the last one being readable after the nineth only)
#219 to #182 - telfyr (05/22/2013) [-]
is that a challenge?
User avatar #220 to #219 - mattseven (05/22/2013) [-]
I didn't intend for it to be, but you won't understand ANYTHING since most of the universe is explained in the first book, and it's pretty complicated too
#222 to #220 - telfyr (05/22/2013) [-]
Plus it's in French, and since this is 'Murica i only speak 'Murican
User avatar #223 to #222 - mattseven (05/22/2013) [-]
Well then, good luck, you're going to need it. French is hard as **** . Even compared to Japanese, French grammar has so many ******* exceptions in it's rules, ****** crazy.
User avatar #174 to #171 - themightymrplow ONLINE (05/21/2013) [-]
That's actually a really awesome idea. It kind of reminds me of the way some anime's do it, like FMA, where they have a non-manga version, and one that more closely follows the manga. I like it.
User avatar #200 to #174 - dedaluminus (05/21/2013) [-]
The reason FMA did it that way is because when they were making the original anime, the manga wasn't finished. Then, after they finished the manga, they had to make another version that was true to the manga.
User avatar #226 to #200 - themightymrplow ONLINE (05/22/2013) [-]
I thought that's what I said. Either way, it's what I was trying to say. I'm aware that's why it happened, thanks though

Those are just choose-your-own-adventure. Imagine it like a pack of Pokémon cards: you wouldn't get them all, you'd get a random ending.
#152 - lordraine ONLINE (05/21/2013) [-]
Not good enough, OP. Eleven is an odd number. They'll suspect you're ************ them. Release nine different endings, and tell them there are ten.
