It was a response to Stephen's comment "When you stop being a black lady, let me know."

That's why I'm sick of this **** being taken out of context.

If someone would say the exact same thing but with the word "Black" instead of "White" it would be considered very inappropriate, to say the least.

What...? The Situation she was in made it perfectly okay.....
User avatar #142 to #2 - badgerclan (05/21/2013) [-]
The reverse basically did happen. He confirmed that she was occasionally an angry black woman and that if she stopped being a black woman she should let him know, So she responded with this.

Well if we were to insult a black man, it's going to be brought up by some racist ****** that he's black. (Ex. Chris Rock)

Yet if we insult a white man, it;s rarely brought up that he's white. Instead we find other things to insult them with. (Ex. Justin Bieber, did I say man? I didn't mean to.)

you make utter **** salary. At least in the US, where it seems that this was obviously made in.
#66 to #65 - anon (05/21/2013) [-]
The Salary in the US isn't bad at all considering A), you start off low and get bonuses each year you work, garunteed, I have had plenty of older teachers who make 100k+ a year. B) you get a penion (maybe) and healthcare. C) government job with a union so really good job security. D) great hours.....8hours 5 days per week with summers, and major holidays off ( only have to work 180 days per year.) E) and that thing about having to grade and other things at home is kinda ******** , most salaried workers take their jobs home in one form or another.
TL;DR It may never make you rich but it is not a bad gig. Much ******** jobs out there
User avatar #148 to #66 - meganinja ONLINE (05/21/2013) [-]
also bonuses aren't garunteed, I don't know about the whole country, but wages for teachers in my area have been frozen for the past 5 years.
User avatar #125 to #66 - meganinja ONLINE (05/21/2013) [-]
I don't know what state you're talking about, but my Mom, who's been a teacher in Virginia for close to 20 years now, makes 30k per year. She has very little benifits, and she spends about 3 hours everyday grading papers because she's the only 3rd grade teacher at her school. 180 day work year is the only reason she's stuck with the job. But I didn't talk about the benifits, it's **** salaray.

I believe the context you're looking for would be a "Joke". An unusual context, to be sure, wherein one party generally does or says something absurd, many times calling out a negative aspect of the human condition, in order to illicit a laughter response. Strange things, these jokes.

Ironic that you're getting upset with him for supposedly not getting a joke, when you are clearly the one not getting his.

I guarantee no one on this cite legitimately agrees with the content of that chart. It was made by 4chan's /v/ in order to make fun of feminists.

You sure you don't mean /r9k/?

I know /v/ has its fair share of threads that pertain to this, but /r9k/ would be a more likely possibility.

I think she is more or less pointing out the sociological trend in which white people have historically held the wealth. The generic rich person is most likely white. All the 'old money" rich people anyways.
User avatar #63 to #61 - cadencee (05/21/2013) [-]
Yeah but at the same time that argument is retarded because he got rich in a field of complete equality.
User avatar #64 to #63 - arisaka (05/21/2013) [-]
Yes! But it's also the Colbert Report so it's all just one big joke.

And I'd like to say that issues of racial bias still present themselves in television. Perhaps not as much as they used to, and definitely not in the realm of comedy.

Change stupid to angry and he did say that to her a few seconds earlier in the interview. She was responding to that.
#23 to #11 - anon (05/21/2013) [-]
Of course it's more ****** up. You said stupid. She didn't name his intelligence. *poor black woman, would have been acceptable. African Santa has spoken

gonna have to agree with the anon here stupid isn't the opposite of rich.
#29 to #27 - anon (05/21/2013) [-]
But why is it racist if what he is saying is true? If she had actually been saying something intelligent, then he would have said, "when you stop being a smart black woman let me know." Unfortunately, she did not say something like that. She said something extremely ignorant instead.
#30 to #29 - amuzen (05/21/2013) [-]
The thing is she didn't call him a Smart or a stupid white man it's not the opposite if you call someone stupid of course it's gonna sound like an insult stupid. aso calling someone a Poor Black woman doesn't sound as racist as calling them a stupid black woman it's like saying your poor because your black in response to someone saying your rich because your white but you made it more racist by making it sound like being stupid was relative to her skin color. Social status is one thing thats actually affected by race but intelligence is a whole nother can of worms
User avatar #81 to #30 - nebuchadnezzaurus (05/21/2013) [-]
I agree with you, but damn... do you even punctuation and grammar?
User avatar #80 to #30 - thereoncewasaman (05/21/2013) [-]
I didn't intend for stupid to be the opposite of poor, rather I just used any insult that fit, and in this case she didn't seem poor but, like anon pointed out, what she was saying was ignorant and rude so stupid fit pretty well.
