Huh. Why not use it for something more interesting than growing pot? Like a batcave?
#292 to #7 - anon (05/21/2013) [-]
maybe because of the amazing profit you get by growing this **** ?

I don't think the batcave can produce millions of dollars every 2 months.. if anything the batcave would cost you so much money to maintain
#13 to #7 - anon (05/20/2013) [-]
How profitable is a batcave?
#39 to #13 - imofcnotharveydent (05/20/2013) [-]
It's not about the money, It's about sending a message
User avatar #180 to #39 - Ashtaroth (05/21/2013) [-]
Actually, i think a batcave would be fairly profitable. Think about it. It's full of bats. Bats produce Guano, which is expensive. Really, at the very least, a batcave would be self-funding.

The reason this operation was discovered was because they have a HUGE electric bill from their underground complex. The electric company was like WTF and sooner or later the cops were there to investigate. Surprise.
#223 to #28 - anon (05/21/2013) [-]
why wouldn't they disconnect from the powergrid? (You can do it where I live)
#271 to #28 - saladtongsofdeath (05/21/2013) [-]
why not have the side of the house against a river? then they could just use an underwater water wheel to power offset the cost of the energy bill
#66 to #28 - anon (05/20/2013) [-]
why not use generators?

With all the Money they were making I'm surprised they didn't get some solar panels to try and lower costs
#167 to #100 - anon (05/21/2013) [-]
Solar Panels are WAY too noticeable, you want a pot farm to be hidden.

and even you hooked them up to the house, the power they made is still recorded by the power company, and would be noted.

You'd have to have something untraceable that could be directly powering the farm ( such as generators )
#302 to #167 - freetoplay (05/21/2013) [-]
it isn't that hard to bypass the meter given to you by the city, hell I bypassed our electric and gas meter to heat my pool for my 21st birthday, took me 5 min.
#110 to #100 - anon (05/20/2013) [-]
if i ever have a factory, im going to get thousands of hamsters and wheels for them. I will harness the mighty power of kinetic energy to power the factory.

Unless there was already a bust on this place, why the **** would you ever leak pictures of it?
User avatar #186 to #146 - breakfastlunch (05/21/2013) [-]
According to comment #28, they got discovered because the electricity bill was off the goddamn charts, so the cops investigated.
#288 to #186 - swagbot (05/21/2013) [-]
Should've used turbines/solar panels.

Everyone would have just written them off as 'crazy survivalist country folk' and not raided their house.

I estimate it would've cost $50K MAX to outfit that house with self-sufficient panels/turbines, and they could've paid that off with their weed in a hurry.

one of the largest pot busts in the U.S. (worth estimated 434 million) The messed up part was how he got caught......damn electric company getting all nosey and stuff wondering how a house that size had a bill that high.

Lol you guys are talking about the same thing. 'Nuclear Power Plants' ARE fission reactors. Right now, except for (maybe) the Polywell, we don't have a working net producer of energy that works on fusion.

Anyways, here's to tickle your nerd sensibilities:

1. Thorium Power Plant
www.youtube.com/watch?v=tyqYP6f66Mw
and
www.youtube.com/watch?v=uK367T7h6ZY
2. Polywell Fusion Generator (That's right. Get Excited)
www.youtube.com/watch?v=rk6z1vP4Eo8

Pretty fuggin cool, huh? I have hears rumors that hobbyists have built their own small Polywells in their own houses!

Note to self: Lots of solar panels and generators. Multiple servers and **** in the basement in case someone asks what is all that for.
