It requires a little more of your focus to be on driving if you're in a traffic jam with a manual. I don't know about you, but for me that's a good thing.

I've found that I love the control that a manual provides. As lame as it sounds, being in an auto and having it start to roll without me pressing the accelerator always felt weird

see i kind of like that. if i have to move a foot or two id rather have it roll by itself at a slow pace than me having to feather the gas.

when you drive a manual, you can often roll by releasing the clutch slowly, and relying on the torque from the idling engine
