Could someone tell me what's the origin of this picture? Why is there a guy being photographed while doing weird stuff in the ocean?
Why does he have such a bad haircut?

really really want them to adapt the dark tower series into a tv series
User avatar #19 to #15 - azraelthemage (05/18/2013) [-]
They were planning to make one on HBO. They were gonna make a movie based on The Gunslinger, then have a TV series based on The Drawing of the Three. Then a movie based on the waste lands, and so on. THey'd be going back and forth between movie and TV series for each book. Sadly, this project was announced years ago, and has been in development hell since. It seems as though it will never happen.
#70 to #19 - anon (05/19/2013) [-]
Because the DT is an ENORMOUS project that requires ******* of money AND there is no guarantee that they won't **** it up (since the story isn't the problem, the story is awesome). Many companies like Universal Pictures, Warner Bros and lastly the HBO that you mentioned. ALL of them INCLUDING HBO have already passed on the adaptations, sadly.
#34 to #15 - anon (05/19/2013) [-]
man, i read the entire series. i have regrets about the choices i made, anyone who read the last book knows what i mean.
#66 to #34 - anon (05/19/2013) [-]
i know how you feel, everything after the wizard and glass just keeps antying up the ******** out of nowhere. hell, the only reason i like wizard and glass is because it's a science fiction, western, horror version of romeo and juliet
#69 to #66 - anon (05/19/2013) [-]
The problem with The Dark Tower is that it's the magnum opus of Stephen King. A lot of characters from his other books appear in this series and you should actually read those before the DT. Then everything would make sense and make it even more awesome.
User avatar #47 to #15 - spartusee (05/19/2013) [-]
Should I read it?
User avatar #75 to #15 - cuthbert (05/19/2013) [-]
It wouldn't be worth it, there's too many character that have a ****** up death because of the "ka"
And that aside, the last book is a joke.

Trudat, but how would they get them all done before the actor playing Jake grows the **** up?
#16 to #15 - anon (05/18/2013) [-]

User avatar #17 to #16 - monoxboogie (05/18/2013) [-]
amen thats why they need to put it on an hbo or a showtime so they can do the full arc and not leave a ton out

hate to say this because that quote is awesome and stephen king is the AWESOMEST, but that qote is NOT from stephen king, he borrowed it from robert bloch, but it got popular when king used it, although he never claimed it to be originally his idea.

just thought I'd clear that up

The Stand, ***** !

And Carrie. Depressing, but pretty good. I'm actually kinda psyched for the movie remake coming out in October.

It's a shame some of the films from his books just butchered them.
User avatar #5 to #4 - soloparasiempre (05/18/2013) [-]
some, yes.. but then you have the shinning, the green mile, shawshank redemption.. i bet IT is pretty good, just didn't have the balls to watch, nor to read the book yet...
User avatar #6 to #5 - luthervonappledorf (05/18/2013) [-]
IT is terrible. The film ending is just so horrific it kills every sense of horror it spent so long making.
User avatar #7 to #6 - soloparasiempre (05/18/2013) [-]
..how about the book?
#68 to #7 - anon (05/19/2013) [-]
if you don't like endings that completely ruin the rest of the book, why would you read stephen king?
User avatar #67 to #7 - giguelingueling (05/19/2013) [-]
IT isn't that scary, it's just really **** up.
User avatar #8 to #7 - luthervonappledorf (05/18/2013) [-]
Still haven't managed to read the book in case the ending is equally as appalling. Seriously, watch the film and weep and its lack luster finish. It just leaves you like '.... I hate everyone who had anything to do with this film'
User avatar #9 to #8 - soloparasiempre (05/18/2013) [-]
i take your word for it so i guess i'll just read the book.. i read quite a few book by stephen king and i trust it'll be good.. plus clowns terrify me so it'll be easier without having to see that horrible thing
User avatar #10 to #9 - luthervonappledorf (05/18/2013) [-]
You should probably watch it then, for a while you'll be ******* terrified, but then you'll laugh and probably go murder every clown you see.

well.. sounds like a plan!

The Stand is my third favourite, just after The Shining and Under The Dome.

"That wasn't any act of God. That was an act of pure human ******* ." Best line in The Stand.
