$80 for 8GB of RAM? surly you can find cheaper. Also, you should go with an SSD boot drive and get something like a seagate 2tb for storage.
User avatar #23 to #18 - nexu (05/18/2013) [-]
You sound pathetic, you know that? If I recall correctly, Australia has higher costs for stuff, so obviously I think your overpaying compared to the prices here.

You're being pretty cynical for someone who just asked for what people think.
User avatar #24 to #18 - negrocop ONLINE (05/18/2013) [-]
Can I atleast recommend newegg? Most of the stuff on there I found cheaper.

Some of the stuff I couldn't find like the case and WiFi card. But a lot of it you can find similar stuff cheaper.
User avatar #25 to #24 - MrAwesomeRabbits (05/18/2013) [-]
I think that OP is Australian, so newegg isn't really an option.

only 10-30 each thing but still yeah.

With the cooling your getting, personally I'd go with an FX-4100. With stock cooling on mine, I manage to run it at a stable 4.4ghz while keeping around roughly 90-95 degrees. 32-35 C. And it should be about half the price.
User avatar #33 to #31 - smurtehmurph (05/18/2013) [-]
yeah mines the AMD oct core 4.0. I could overclock it to 4.2 easily but i don't see the need/

For the price you pay, Zambezi cores are amazing. Love mine, never had problems with it.
User avatar #35 to #34 - smurtehmurph (05/18/2013) [-]
yeah it's only $212, an i5 3.6 quad is $230
User avatar #36 to #35 - negrocop ONLINE (05/18/2013) [-]
Not sure what the price is for you, but FX-4100 quads are only $100 here.

I take it you don't know much about computers do you?

That is near top of the line ram, fastest, strongest best and better than your **** tier ram.

Secondly, I clearly said inb4 SSD. I'm not getting one because I'm willing to wait an extra 2-5 minutes a day to save 140 on the 120gb pro series. (the only type you should bother with)

And lastly, the WD black is the best storage drive on the market, with the fastest times and best durability, it's 160 for a ******* reason.
User avatar #19 to #17 - nexu (05/18/2013) [-]
it looks like regular 1600MHz RAM to me. I wasn't saying the WD black is bad at all, I use a 500gb black for my games and I'll be getting a bulk storage drive soon enough for media and other **** .

DDR3 1600 is nothing special and 8GB of it can be bought for relatively cheap nowadays.
WD Caviar Blacks are not the best storage drives on the market. They're certainly fast, but in terms of reliability, WD RE4 drives will last much longer than blacks at because they're enterprise drives designed to be operating 24/7 for years under high load with little down time.

Get a 660 Ti instead. More powerful than 670 and only a tiny bit more expensive.

I like Nvidia for their increased performance and CUDA technology. AMD/Radeon is good for low-budget PC's though.

I've been running basic games pretty well with it. I gotta find a fix for one of the pieces in my computer. Diablo III screwed with it, and i got blue screens all the time until i switched to chrome. My video drive would crash, not a legitimate blue screen of death.
