The circles were just to show people what I meant by "legends". Otherwise people probably would have thought I was talking about the whole picture.

Ya... Japan has maid cafes... You didn't know that?
User avatar #71 to #66 - mindfeeder ONLINE (05/16/2013) [-]
I just didn't know those maids were actually walking through the streets.

Yeah, looks like it. Someone else commented here that they actually take your hand and guide you to the maid café sometimes.

...Oh Japan...

They recently wanted to reinstate the comfort women service for their military just to **** with china. Giving their men women for sexual release... usually chinese women.
User avatar #79 to #75 - whycanticaps (05/16/2013) [-]
China is very quickly running out of women

Just one example of weird **** , I guess.
Another one would be those infamous ATMs selling used school girl panties...
To imagine all the creepy drooling Japanese business men buying those...

User avatar #70 to #22 - mindfeeder ONLINE (05/16/2013) [-]
I'm sorry, I forgot. But here it is. Just search for this on Google Street View:
Tōkyō-to, Chiyoda-ku, Sotokanda, 1丁目3−6 かくたビル
Then turn north and walk a few steps (but not too far - otherwise it skips to older photos of the area).

They are advertising for a french maid cafe. If you ask one of them where it is, they grab you by the arm and lead you to the place. Then they make you sing a song with them before you order. BUT you have to pay to take a picture with them. So i have no proof ive been there, other than a ninja pick i took when they weren't looking haha.

yup, when i went to Tokyo these girls were everywhere. not only that but people will dress in cosplay when there is no event on. it was brilliant, oh and in japan its the girl who takes the guy out on dates, so if you are male you will have a great time! i barely paid for any drinks while i was there. Osaka is also amazing but Kyoto is most beautiful.

haha, it will really blow your mind. i have traveled and really enjoy a culture shock, but japan was by far my favorite of all. i went to china before flying to japan and its amazing to see the huge differences between the two. make sure you see the imperial palace, go to Harajuku for the amazing cosplay and Roppongi for the night life. i can honestly promise you if you are male (especially if you are white) you will have girls all over you. i shaved my head due to the humidity and they wouldnt leave me alone, its considered quite rebellious there apparently. oh and you will get dragged to karaoke
User avatar #137 to #134 - tehnoobpwnzor ONLINE (05/16/2013) [-]
its a good job im good at singing then... and a major good point that i know japanese XD im white but i have a huge beard XD but if girls are going to be all over me i shall go as soon as possible! to the promise land of sake and boobs!
User avatar #143 to #137 - thelocksmith (05/16/2013) [-]
a big beard will get you some attention, to say they are probably more quirky than any other country, they do find other cultures fascinating. ah well you have 1 up on me because i didnt know much Japanese, just basic small talk. enough to get me by though. well when you do go i hope you have a great time (you will!)

#88 to #85 - lordaurion (05/16/2013) [-]
I'm going to assume you're in the US for the sake of the explanation. You know the people you see outside during tax season that wear the statue of liberty costumes for Liberty taxes? It's like that. They're advertisement.
User avatar #93 to #85 - zafara (05/16/2013) [-]
Shops and restaurants in Japan can be very agressive. If you look up at one, sometimes someone from the shop will run over and drag you in forcibly. These girls appear to be from a maid cafe, so it's kind of like they're advertising.
#94 to #93 - icametocomment (05/16/2013) [-]
They drag you into the store? Christ.

User avatar #96 to #94 - zafara (05/16/2013) [-]
Yes, that is pretty much exactly what happens. Except it usually involves restaurants.
User avatar #97 to #96 - icametocomment (05/16/2013) [-]
What happens if you don't order anything?
User avatar #102 to #97 - zafara (05/16/2013) [-]
Honestly, I don't know. I assume that it would be the worst possible thing you could do. It is Japan, after all, and hospitality as well as accepting hospitality is very important. I think it would be like if you were at someone's house and they offered you something, and you just got up and left, saying that they were disgusting and boring, and that your other friend had better stuff.
User avatar #107 to #102 - icametocomment (05/16/2013) [-]
Well if a friend dragged me into their house, I'd be a little miffed...
User avatar #110 to #107 - zafara (05/16/2013) [-]
Well, they're your friend, so they might be showing you something you might like. These are complete strangers dragging you down alleyways in through a small door.
User avatar #111 to #110 - icametocomment (05/16/2013) [-]
Which makes it all the creepier. Freaking Japan, man.
User avatar #113 to #111 - zafara (05/16/2013) [-]
Yeah, Japan is pretty crazy. Although, according to my International Relations teacher who used to be a reporter, the Japanese are covert racists. His favorite method was to get people drunk and ask them questions. Apperently the Japanese are pissed over losing the war. Also, China is the them as Mexico is to the US.
User avatar #151 to #113 - goodguygary (05/16/2013) [-]
isn't it that they have have people in japan that regard america, and americans, as weaboos do for japan?
User avatar #162 to #151 - zafara (05/16/2013) [-]
There are weaboos for everything everywhere, so probably.
