You wish that I had died and Boromir had lived? Very well, since you have been robbed of Boromir, I shall do what I can in his place. if I return father, think better of me.

Now Faramir I loved.
#135 to #134 - crazyeyedbioll (05/16/2013) [-]
my favorite character hands down. I have so many feels for him
User avatar #137 to #135 - Sethorein ONLINE (05/16/2013) [-]
Faramir and Samwise... Damned good men. Nobody asked for them to help. They both knew what hell awaited them. But still, for their own reasons, they sacrificed damn near everything to help save all of mankind.
#138 to #137 - crazyeyedbioll (05/16/2013) [-]
So unappreciated too. If not for Faramir and his rangers the free world would have fallen much sooner. "Captain Faramir, You have shown your quality sir, the very highest."-Samwise
User avatar #140 to #138 - Sethorein ONLINE (05/16/2013) [-]
I also kinda loved him 'cause of any group of Middle Earth I would have wanted to be a part of the rangers... They really are fantastic soldiers.
#142 to #140 - crazyeyedbioll (05/16/2013) [-]
completely agree, rangers are always such badasses.

Feels? The guy redeemed himself... but if this never happened he would have just been that dick who tried to kill frodo....
#126 to #117 - crazyeyedbioll (05/16/2013) [-]
before that he was a hero of gondor, commander of their forces. He accomplished great things before the fellowship happened
User avatar #129 to #126 - Sethorein ONLINE (05/16/2013) [-]
True... but in the eyes of a moviegoer and any member of the fellowship... He wouldn't be that great...
#130 to #129 - crazyeyedbioll (05/16/2013) [-]
they were all aware that gondor was the country holding back mordor, and he was a commander. Aragorn appreciated having him there
User avatar #131 to #130 - Sethorein ONLINE (05/16/2013) [-]
Having him there, but if he had tried to kill frodo for the ring and then did not die to protect him then he would have had to fess up to the rest of the fellowship for almost wrecking everything...
#132 to #131 - crazyeyedbioll (05/16/2013) [-]
the ring corrupts everyone. notice that as soon as he was away from the ring (frodo ran away) he realizes what happened and cried out for frodo with apologies
User avatar #133 to #132 - Sethorein ONLINE (05/16/2013) [-]
Didn't corrupt the others as much as him... Took frodo right to mount doom to succumb to it.
User avatar #109 - sinonyx (05/16/2013) [-]
the guy that almost went psycho and killed someone for a ring

and i'm supposed to feel sorry?
#114 to #109 - highclassbean (05/16/2013) [-]
do you know nothing about LOTR?
he didn't kill anyone.
the one ring temps all, humans being so greedy are especially susceptible to the ring's influence, he was convinced by the ring he could use it against the forces of mordor and defeat them. though he intentions were for the greater good it would have failed miserably.
you should really feel sorry because he quickly overcame its power and was filled with remorse.
and again you should feel sorry because he died honorably defending the lives of the weaker in his fellowship.
I hope you feel bad for what you said.
User avatar #121 to #114 - sinonyx (05/16/2013) [-]
nope, not feeling bad, and going to take any red thumbs
yes, the ring tempts people and ohh it was to powerful for him to keep control of himself wah wah boo hoo.. every bloody one else in the party was fine, except gandalf was a little twitchy. yes, boromir overcame the draw of the ring and was filled with remorse, only after the ring wasn't around, if it was there he would've been crazy for it

now yes, he died die honorably, and it was a good death.. but if that ring were near him, he would've been fighting for the ring, not for his friends

he needed to be out of the fellowship, maybe not die, but he needed out
User avatar #127 to #121 - highclassbean (05/16/2013) [-]
come on man, humans were very weak against its power. and with him being in a position where he thinks he can do away with evil forever and gain favor with his father with something right in front of him for months? just, come on man. not sure why tolkin ever showed weakness in gimli or legolas, but ******* galadriel almost succumbed to the will of the ring. you can't say 'if' this or 'if' that for it never did happen. he was over come with grief immediately realizing what had happened. wished to do good and died doing good. i don't see your logic in because he fell to temptation automatially makes him horrible for the rest of the time. have you never heard of a little thing called redemption?
User avatar #111 to #109 - KingElliott (05/16/2013) [-]
the ring had powers that were stronger than the will of a man, it was not boromirs fault.
#108 - anonymous (05/16/2013) [-]
Someone should make a movie where Sean Bean comes close to death multiple times throughout the movie then, at the end, is the only survivor out of all mankind.
#105 - anonymous (05/16/2013) [-]

Let's talk about the best deaths in movies, tvs, and books. By best death I mean something like Bormir's death, some one who doesn't go out like a bitch. I'm partial to Yorren's death.

I think in terms of just awesome ways to go out Yorren's was right up there, I really liked him but it didn't make me super sad when he died (although it was a damn shame, he was badass). In terms of deaths that made me sad Ned's still bums me out when I think about it and SPOILER ALERT Ygritte's will definitely make me want to kill myself. SPOILER OVER so if Ned had died like Yorren it would be the best death of any character ever.

Yorren's death was the kind where he just goes out so awesomely that it's impossible to be sad. Borrimir's would be like that, if it weren't for his heart wrenching last words. Qhorin Half-hand's death is like Yorren's in my opinion. Very few people in the series have awesome deaths. (Aerys kings gaurds have awesome deaths, though that's only talked about in the books).
User avatar #115 to #112 - esmebuffay (05/16/2013) [-]
How do Aerys' kings guards die again? I'm wracking my brain but I don't remember.

Read the history part. I should have been more specific because I meant these three.
User avatar #122 to #116 - esmebuffay (05/16/2013) [-]
Ah, I thought you meant these three and I knew Ned killed them but I had forgot the specifies, thanks. They took their oaths seriously, even if they were serving a ****** king he was still the king, I disagree with their decision but I respect it.
User avatar #124 to #122 - KayRed ONLINE (05/16/2013) [-]
Same here. I hope Jamie and Barristan will go out as awesomely as their brothers (let's face it, neither of them are long for the world).
