I swear what happened to him wasn't that ******* twisted in the books or did I miss something.
User avatar #74 to #43 - GodofTV (05/16/2013) [-]
Are you ******* crazy? What happened to him in the book was way more twisted!
#56 to #43 - anon (05/16/2013) [-]
10x more twisted in the books.
#71 to #56 - mrmcput (05/16/2013) [-]
I wouldn't say that. Especially since they didn't go into great detail on the mental torture that Theon recieved. All we know is that it broke him completely. The show has some pretty ****** up **** . I think Ramsay's personality was cast perfectly.
User avatar #59 to #56 - violentpixi (05/16/2013) [-]
Have read all of them, I just didn't remember Theon being in them pre 7 (or...5b)
User avatar #51 to #43 - Gandalfthewhite (05/16/2013) [-]
it is hinted/implied that he was castrated in the books, and several fingers and toes were flayed so yes it was that twisted in the books
User avatar #53 to #51 - violentpixi (05/16/2013) [-]
I know he comes back around book 7 but I wasn't sure whether I accidentally skipped massive sections of the 3-4th book. That's cool, weirdly I'm glad we get to see the darker stuff.
User avatar #57 to #53 - bionicpanda (05/16/2013) [-]
He might, anythough there isn't even near 7 books

SPOILER:

He's being help captive by stannis and is being prepped for execution.
User avatar #60 to #57 - violentpixi (05/16/2013) [-]
I have seven separate volumes and I see no reason to complicate the world and group the two Storm of Swords together, nor the Dances with Dragons.

SPOILER: I'm pretty sure Theon was being held captive by Bolton's bastard, the flaying and suchlike. If it is, the actor for the bastard is a lot like how I imagined him in the books (actor from Misfits)
User avatar #61 to #60 - bionicpanda (05/16/2013) [-]

INSANELY MASSIVE SPOILER:

He was being held captive by the Bolton's but when he attempted to escape he was caught by Stannis on his way to the wall. Stannis is trying to win the North's gratitude and bring them to his side, so he decides to have Theon killed for betraying Robb.

His sister tries to talk Stannis out of it, but Stannis wouldn't let up. Her final word on the subject was asking to at least give him a quick death.

Spoiler: I mean currently in the television series, which is...third book era? Knowing how things are going, they could change everything. Wouldn't mind, both books and tv series are very fancy.
User avatar #67 to #64 - bionicpanda (05/16/2013) [-]
They're sticking almost exactly to the books. The only thing different is slightly different words, actions, and death ways.

Also, theyre combining 3rd and 4th this season. Theon wasn't even in the 3rd
User avatar #148 to #67 - violentpixi (05/16/2013) [-]
I'd disagree about how closely they're sticking, especially with the new Gendry plot twist who looks like he's the new Edric.
User avatar #54 to #53 - Gandalfthewhite (05/16/2013) [-]
book 7? god damn i wish book 7 was out but there's only 5 atm
User avatar #55 to #54 - violentpixi (05/16/2013) [-]
I find it messy to call my separate volumes Storm of Swords part 1 and 2 so I've always counted them up to seven.

Let's talk about the best deaths in movies, tvs, and books. By best death I mean something like Bormir's death, some one who doesn't go out like a bitch. I'm partial to Yorren's death.

I think in terms of just awesome ways to go out Yorren's was right up there, I really liked him but it didn't make me super sad when he died (although it was a damn shame, he was badass). In terms of deaths that made me sad Ned's still bums me out when I think about it and SPOILER ALERT Ygritte's will definitely make me want to kill myself. SPOILER OVER so if Ned had died like Yorren it would be the best death of any character ever.

Yorren's death was the kind where he just goes out so awesomely that it's impossible to be sad. Borrimir's would be like that, if it weren't for his heart wrenching last words. Qhorin Half-hand's death is like Yorren's in my opinion. Very few people in the series have awesome deaths. (Aerys kings gaurds have awesome deaths, though that's only talked about in the books).
User avatar #115 to #112 - esmebuffay (05/16/2013) [-]
How do Aerys' kings guards die again? I'm wracking my brain but I don't remember.

Read the history part. I should have been more specific because I meant these three.
User avatar #122 to #116 - esmebuffay (05/16/2013) [-]
Ah, I thought you meant these three and I knew Ned killed them but I had forgot the specifies, thanks. They took their oaths seriously, even if they were serving a ****** king he was still the king, I disagree with their decision but I respect it.
User avatar #124 to #122 - KayRed (05/16/2013) [-]
Same here. I hope Jamie and Barristan will go out as awesomely as their brothers (let's face it, neither of them are long for the world).

Lurtz, pfft. You see this mother ****** ? This is a real man, look at his GLORIOUS beard and his helmet. Gimli is and should be an example to every aspiring badass, you want to know why he's such a manly man? That's simple, my friend.

He's a DWARF.

.. And he uses axe, which is why he gets all the bitches.

And even the make-up looks good on him.
10/10 would bang
obvious favorite
