Despite all those going "hurr durr, EA and Disney are bad" because of this, I'm ******* glad.

****** LucasArts is no longer in control of Star Wars games and it's being put out to good developers, so we'll actually see some nice games.

I'm looking at this whole EA buying Lucasarts quite positively. Just think, Bioware is owned by EA, and look at all the great things that have come out of Bioware, even after EA came into the picture. same with Dice. Imagine this: Star Wars Battle Front 3 using Frostbite, ONE OF THE BEST GAME ENGINES OF ALL TIME. This might be good, might be bad. But I'd go more for good. Sure, EA's made a few flops, but think of all the masterpieces they've made.

hmm considering some of the bigheads in bioware left, i doubt anymore good can come of it. thats the issue with EA, its where things slowly die out.

I'm with you on the positive outlook. A new Knights of the Old Republic made by Bioware, 1313 made by Visceral, and Battlefront made by Dice sounds like the recipe for a great ******* time.

What is this? A lightsaber for ants?
User avatar #79 - thezombiebait (05/14/2013) [-]
oh EA, what are we going to do with you?
User avatar #78 - errdayimfjing (05/14/2013) [-]
It's not about how big your lightsaber is, it's how you use it.
User avatar #74 - markertemp (05/14/2013) [-]
Those prices are just for the blade piece. The handle is always $5 DLC.

>EA owns star wars
>EA (Sadly) owns bioware
>Bioware made a classic star wars game before EA
>Made a good mmo star wars while with EA
>EA also owns battlefield makers
>Frostbite mechanic in possible star wars battlefront 3

I see no problem with this.

Except Battlefront 3 was shelved due to budget losses at Pandemic because the Battlefront Vanguard game tanked.

Not to mention Bioware doesn't own the rights to the Battlefront franchise. Some other third party bought those from Pandemic a while back, but haven't done anything with the "Almost finished game" - Quote from the original devs - since they got it.
User avatar #101 to #91 - subaqueousreach (05/14/2013) [-]
Please ignore my comment. I was not up to date with my information.

Chances are they're going to get DICE to make Battlefront 3.

Well what the **** are you going to do about it? Are you just going to ******* sit there and take it? I mean C'mon it's your childhood, it's what you love GET MAD. Write an angry letter, and fill the envelope with ricin! Chuck a petrol bomb into their lobby! ******* cut their CEO in half with a chainsaw, DO SOMETHING INSTEAD OF COMPLAIN YOU DRIBBLING PUSSIES!

Lots of hot air from someone complaining about complainers.

Why not do some of that stuff to them yourself, lead by example?
#70 - anonymous (05/14/2013) [-]
All the morons who are saying "Oh no EA is making star wars games" need to wise up. DICE Visceral and Bioware are amazing studios and will make awesome star wars games. EA will do something to **** em up, but its sure better than Lucasarts which hadnt made a good star wars game since '05
User avatar #66 - logicstrike (05/14/2013) [-]
ok I hate EA as much as the next guy but seriously what other publisher would have picked up Star Wars, The only other I could think of that I like is THQ but THQ is dead

If they ever make a Force Unleashed 3 game it better be more enjoyable than the second installment. But then again...EA always fails to deliver: They get us all hyped for a new release and then take a tremendous **** on our expectations.

EA always screw at the third of any series.

Ubisoft are starting to do this too. In my opinion the last two AC games have been incredibly disappointing.

I actually wished they had mini light-saber dagger things in Battlefront 1 and 2. It was awkward circling around each other trying to land a hit with a gun when you got to close to an enemy
#60 to #48 - xoyv (05/14/2013) [-]
what, you mean like what they had in Republic Commando?
User avatar #61 to #60 - Metallicock (05/14/2013) [-]
Idk I never played it

You're right. It's not as terrible as you think. It's worse.

Nobody should have to pay real money to hide their goddamn helmet.

Just wait until you get to level 50, and you have to pay every single week in order to run more than one raid. Hell you can't do more than three flashpoints a week without paying, even.

User avatar #77 to #41 - neutralgray (05/14/2013) [-]
Thank you. The fact that the asterisk didn't really lead you anywhere was actually bothering me.
User avatar #104 to #77 - fivebecomesfours (05/15/2013) [-]
Yeah it was bothering me too, that's mainly why I posted this, aha
User avatar #89 to #77 - namnori ONLINE (05/14/2013) [-]
The asterisk did exactly what EA do... It shows that there are terms and conditions but you won't find out what they are until you've already signed up for the free **** .
User avatar #93 to #89 - neutralgray (05/14/2013) [-]
Regardless, it still annoyed me. When I see an asterisk I immediately want to find the tiny bold text.
User avatar #95 to #93 - namnori ONLINE (05/14/2013) [-]
Yeah me too, I think OP left it out for a reason though.
