If you work out, do lots of cardio, and have a proper diet losing a pound in one week is rather easy. I've 23 lbs in 5 weeks before while cutting.

It's perfectly healthy, I feel great. I'm actually still continuing to lose, but I did take a short break for the hell of it.

Most of the time you hear about people losing 2lbs a week, or something like that, it's because they're using a ****** diet plan, or they're cheating on their diet every other day. If you have a decent diet, and you're pretty strict about it, you can lose lots of weight pretty quickly. Last year I lost 50lbs over the course of about 3 and 1/2 months, and I didn't feel bad from it or anything.

Believe it or not, there is such a thing as a healthy amount of body fat, around 12%-15% is a pretty healthy level, although some athletes and body-builders have lower percentages during their 'on' season.

I think mine's around 8%, so it's not bad. I have a really high metabolism so it doesn't matter how much I eat, I don't gain weight (provided I stop eating when i'm full). I weighed 150 back in Feburary but I got mono and lost 15 pounds, and haven't been able to put it back on.

It's not as much about how much you eat, as it is what you eat. If your diet consists of lots of bread, and 'hollow' valueless foods like that, then you're not going to gain weight. On the other side of the spectrum, if you eat lots of meat--protein and fat dense foods, and you start lifting weights, you shouldn't have too much of a problem gaining weight.

It actually works wonders. Sometimes what gets me through a week of salads and small portions is that bowl of ice cream or cheeseburger I know I'm getting on Saturday.

The high calorie meal a day only works when you are cutting your calories by a lot.

The whole idea behind it is you are eating way less calories than you need. So your body is losing fat, but your body gets used to your new low calories diet so becomes more efficient with the calories it gets so you will begin to lose weight slower as it is the same as if you are eating an extra few hundred calories a day.

But if you have that high calorie meal once a day to trick your body into thinking it doesnt need to become super efficient so you can keep the gains of the lower calorie diet.

However this only works when you are eating like 1200 or less calories a day.
