Perhaps, never had it done before because I don't believe in throwing away hundreds of dollars for some person to stick me with hot needles. I was mostly posting this to make fun of OP for believing you can spiritually ascend your physical form.

I had an odd exeprience not so long ago.... I tried to get out because something was chasing me, and I kept "waking up" and get thrown back in - I could see my roomate play LoL, and in the next moment that place with that thing closing in. It happend 6-7 times. Be careful and be smart in there

How do these shocks feel like?
Is it like getting executed?
User avatar #36 to #21 - niggerflip (05/15/2013) [-]
Like shivering, not really painful

Wait, is there like one specific forest or several taking over the landscape? Could I float around my neighborhood or go to the bottom of the ocean? Is veelox like a specific place? would I see other people floating round in this place or is it subjective to me?

So many questions, so little time to astro project...

I've heard this is kinda terrifying, and that it's "safer" to practice Lucid Dreaming.
#11 - anon (05/13/2013) [-]
Or just take some DMT. Much easier.
#7 - harryblazer (05/13/2013) [-]
there is an easier method than this.
1.do "reality checks" during the day. pinch yourself and ask yourself 'am I dreaming?"
2.keep a dream journal.after you wake up, write down the dream you had in as much detail. even if you cant remember, write dont 'no dreams last night" to form the habit
3.set your alarm to an early time in the morning.after it wakes you up, walk around for 30-60 minutes before going backto sleep. when you do, repeat that you are going to have a lucid dream to yourself and think of any past dreams you've had. i also just loo up things about lucid dreaming to get in the mindset
ive tried the first way, and found it too hard. this way was much easier
User avatar #9 to #7 - aenous (05/13/2013) [-]
keeping a dream journal and trying to induce WILD is what has worked best for me and what i used back then.

besides that, the reality check option takes too long and is waaaaaaaay more complicated

But this isnt dreaming.

often this is slightly paganistic being as christians dont like the thought of the astral plane but this is more like separating your soul from your body and free floating.

in a VERY generalized explanation on my part.

A really long time ago I did some astral travel and out-of-body stuff. At the time I just wanted to find my spirit animal, but when it got too far out I felt uncomfortable and stopped doing it for good. I used a simple mantra meditation. Never heard of this veelox stuff before.

Oh, and I did find my spirit animal.
#25 to #19 - ardeidae (05/13/2013) [-]
I have heard a lot about astral travel. Only tried it something similar once (a common dream with a friend on the other side of the world, literally).
Are there anything you can tell me that might help me? How did it start to feel uncomfortable for you and what triggered it?
I would like to hear more about your findings, what spirit animal did you find?

User avatar #26 to #25 - sodapops (05/13/2013) [-]
I'm no expert, It's just that in my teens I studied all kinds of occult stuff. Especially shamanism because it's probably the worlds oldest religion, and saami shamanism in particular (there are still active shamans/nåid in northern scandinavia). Got the idea to search for my spirit animal (although you can have more than one) from a book by Dénis Lindbohm. Took me a couple of months of meditating, would probably have taken longer if we hadn't done meditation stuff in my martial arts class.

As for the journey itself, I kinda just flew around in an unfamiliar landscape and suddenly I got sucked to a certain place where I saw my spirit animal. And it was more too, uh, the ESSENCE of it was all around me. Trippy stuff. It was a northern goshawk.

As to why I stopped doing it, It just didn't feel right. If the hawk was jealous or if I'm just a superstitious coward, take your pick.
Later, maybe the same year or the one after, I was on my way to cross a bog and a big wolf stood in my path (just for a second) as if to stop me. It had no eyes at all, just fur where the eyes should be. I went the long way around.

Most people don't want to talk about their experiences in this field but I don't really do that stuff anymore so whatever. Hope you found my little story interesting.
#28 to #26 - ardeidae (05/13/2013) [-]
Thanks for replying to me!
I did indeed enjoy your story; I quite enjoy reading stuff like this.
I would not consider you a coward; since it is better to stop when you still fell, you have the control. That wolf.. thing would freak me out aswell! Have you ever wondered what the wolf wanted to stop you from doing, since it made you choose another path? As for the shamanism, I enjoy reading about the Scandinavian cultures but haven’t looked that much into it, is it worth the time and the read?

I wonder why they don’t want to talk about their experiences, I know it is a private and probably intimate journey.
#31 to #28 - sodapops (05/13/2013) [-]
I thought it was a warning not to cross the potentially bottomless bog. Or is that the right word? Quagmire? It kinda looked like this but less water.

And yes, I still find the shaman stuff super interesting but it's hard to find good literature on the subject. I especially like how it's so much like the old religions in Siberia, the arctic and north and south America. Does it mean that it can be as old as 40.000 years, when the native Americans crossed the bering strait? Or that the eskimos have traveled and traded between the old and new world for thousands of years, spreading their traditions? Hehe. The Norse mythology is also a fun mix between shamanism and greek mythology.

I have a few more creepy innawoods stories, but not much of the "magic" stuff. but now I have to go to bed, work tomorrow. Todeloo

UUUGH! smiles on FJ are horrendous! D:
User avatar #4 to #1 - aenous (05/12/2013) [-]
cant say i entirely mastered the topic but yeah ive done this quite a few times.

it feels basicly like a dream that you can control fully, while interacting with other people projecting to the same area.

and no rather not share experiences, find everything out on your own mistakes or travels
#5 to #4 - midnightcat ONLINE (05/12/2013) [-]
what if you 'die' while in astral projection? like what if someone that I meet hurts you? can you heal yourself with your mind?
User avatar #8 to #5 - aenous (05/13/2013) [-]
you CAN but it takes an awfull lot of willpower.

and as for the dying question, you just wake up in your bed nothing special about it
