My first tattoo is on my hand its a celtic tree of life, part of my heritage that I display proudly I have yet to find trouble getting a job and most of my coworkers/friends have tattoos all over. If you're dumb enough to get a skull or some stupid ass tattoo on your or hand then yeah I agree finding a job is gonna be tough but if its a piece of art that means something to you and has a story behind it then theres no issue.

I have the celtic tree of life as well. However mine is on my back where the "faggy lameness" is

I love how people act like having tattoos or piercings and stuff stops people from getting jobs but, if anyone takes 30 seconds to look around people like that are working everywhere

i've had several jobs and i have a tat on my wrist. i don't get why people think it stops you getting jobs
User avatar #10 to #7 - sparkyoneonetwo (05/11/2013) [-]

I'm actually surprised that they don't count the forearm as socially acceptable, as long as it's not a full sleeve I hardly perceive any complications getting a job.

I have a full sleeve, half a sleeve and my hand tattoo'd. It hasn't stopped me getting a job and now I work for one the biggest military defence contractors in the world.

some people will just never understand that it doesn't matter if you get tattoos.

Not collarbones, shoulder blades, my mistake.
User avatar #26 to #25 - eddio (05/11/2013) [-]
Thanks, it looks big in the pic, but i started gyming and gained 26 kilograms, it looks tiny as hell now, doesnt even reach the collarbones, makes me wish i got it later.

You got any?
User avatar #28 to #26 - timelordeternal (05/11/2013) [-]
No, not yet. I am starting my EMS training next spring, after I get my EMT license I want to get the star of life tattooed on my chest.
User avatar #29 to #28 - eddio (05/11/2013) [-]
That's awesome! I was going to be an EMT, but I live in South Africa and was turned down for courses because they had reached their quota for "White" people at that time... so right now I'm currently training to join the Police Service.
User avatar #30 to #29 - timelordeternal (05/11/2013) [-]
That's cool! What kind of policework do you want to do? Are you wanting to be a uniform, or a detective?
User avatar #34 to #30 - eddio (05/11/2013) [-]
Also enlarge to see properly xD

Uniform, I plan on starting out in tactical response (The guys that are sent when citizens call the emergency number). You can choose whichever division you like as long as you're willing to train for it, so I want to try as many divisions as i can. Starting with tactical response, and moving to k-9 unit, Flying Squad, and eventually Special Task Service (sort of a south african swat).

The weapons we get to use are awesome :D The police you see walking around here almost always carry rifles and shotguns, such is how terrible the crime is over here :P

This is what I'll wear in Tactical Response, that guy isn't me, i just found it while surfing. And instead of that GC36C Im gonna request a Striker shotgun or an R5 assault rifle.

What country are you planning to be an EMT for?
User avatar #37 to #32 - timelordeternal (05/11/2013) [-]
I also enjoy firearms, though I like revolvers and lever-actions. I'm a fan of westerns.
User avatar #36 to #32 - timelordeternal (05/11/2013) [-]
I'm in the U.S., and I plan on getting my Paramedic after my EMT. I have considered law enforcement after a few years of medic, I'd like to be a detective.
User avatar #38 to #36 - eddio (05/11/2013) [-]
Im not sure I'm cut out for being a detective, even with training I cant piece things together or think laterally as well as others might.

I do hope you succeed, though :)
