Thanks to everyone for getting me to the frontpage with the last post. I wish I had more to share with you, but I found all of this through an imgur thread sent to me by a friend.
I'll try to make content like this occasionally, but I'm a lot more interesting/funny in the comments section than I am in content, as anybody who has seen my previous content can attest to.

They should make this into a series.
Hey Arnold the highschool years, make it very mature and put it on an adult channel that could really use a good show. Maybe MTV, comedy central, or somewhere good.

Kickstarter anyone?
User avatar #53 to #19 - TheCynic (05/09/2013) [-]
Apparently, they tried something like that once, but it was about Helga and Arnold wasn't supposed to be in the series at all. It got canned, though, when they said it was too much like Daria.

so why mention MTV he haven't had anything good since the last season of beavis and butthead

It was more mature then rugrats...I enjoyed rugrats all grown up. Though the sudden end kind of hit me like a brick wall and I was depressed for a week.
User avatar #99 to #28 - sketchysketchist (05/09/2013) [-]
That's because they went from babies to annoying teens. Rugrats was all about adventures, using their imagination, and bad parenting. Then All Grown Up is about teens being a Hey Arnold rip-off with the added bonus of the characters kinda still being the same, but they weren't. Instead of imagination and adventure they had school and constant disappointment.

Hey Arnold would transfer well into a highschool series.
It was a show about a elementary school kid just living his life and encountering interesting things around his neighborhood. The highschool version would just have more drama and it'd impress you to see how the characters changed over the years.
User avatar #25 to #19 - Furubatsu (05/09/2013) [-]
It would make sense to make it mature (or at least very I-cant-beleive-thats-on-a-kids-channel like Regular show) since the people who would watch it are now adults
User avatar #78 to #19 - novren (05/09/2013) [-]
Is it good in your imagination?

Then leave it as it is. Maybe they'll make a crap show and you'll regret it. Whatever you imagined is as perfect as it can be. Leave it there. We do not need to get a series or a book for every breathing moment of the characters we like, we like to imagine and assume things too.
User avatar #98 to #78 - sketchysketchist (05/09/2013) [-]
Here's the thing, they can make something really awful out of the series, but you know what? I'd still watch it, and if I don't like it I'll forget it in a few weeks. Just like how I forgot most of the bad crap they gave us when family guy was taken out of cancellation and the simpsons still haven't ended.
If you don't like where things go and want to imagine a better story, do that. No one is making you watch the series.
User avatar #104 to #98 - novren (05/09/2013) [-]
Anyway it's just what I think, I like imagining alternate endings, a show is too restricting. Hey Arnold is done and gone, same as many other shows, and I feel that's the way it should be. We cannot mirror all of our lives in the full life of just one character. You watched different shows when you had different ages, didn't you? And you got different role models for every age. Every character should be a role model for just one age of our life, so we could make our own by picking the role models we liked the most.

Sorry for my English, it is not my mother tongue.
User avatar #110 to #104 - randomserb (05/09/2013) [-]
I think this is a great point. The problem is that people want to see the show manifested so that they actually experience it as having happened instead of being in their imagination.
User avatar #105 to #104 - sketchysketchist (05/09/2013) [-]
Well everybody can enjoy what they want, but a show doesn't really change anything.
When you think about it, a T.V. show spin-off is just fanfiction with a budget.
When you read fanfiction, you either enjoy it or ignore it.
I'm too old for role models, I just want entertainment. If the original creator and all those involved in the original got together to make a sequel, I can trust the show to be good. Rather than watch something new that more often than not will fail on all parts.

Your English is fine. Way better than most americans.
User avatar #107 to #105 - novren (05/09/2013) [-]
You've got a valid point there.
I guess I'm just tired of watching rip-offs pretending to be sequels.
User avatar #108 to #107 - sketchysketchist (05/09/2013) [-]
The only ones worth watching are the ones created by the original people who made it and if they did it because they had plans for a while and not because producers demanded a continuation to make more money, otherwise you're going to see a really bad movie.
Like the Disney/Pixar Cars sequel and the spin-off. One was forced and the other isn't involving pixar at all. Then there's most of the stephen king books, anything by stephenie myer (even though she's already a bad writer), all horror movie sequels and reboots, and drama show spin-offs. The list goes on.
Good ones were Shrek 2(Though the others suck), all the harry potter sequels, madagascar in a way, and I can't really think of any more for some reason mostly because a lot of good things are debatable and it's pretty rare for follow-ups to be good.

If you're tired, it's probably because you have spent too much time taking in entertainment to the point of being able to predict everything and compare it to something better. The only solution would be to take some time off new things and rewatch all the stuff you've seen before and liked and figure out why you liked it. After that, look into movies and series that sound similar and get into it.

Wow.

Thanks for that last paragraph.

I have been doing that for a while now (like rewatching Disney films, or series that I loved) and at first I just thought that I was doing it because I was bored but I'm realising now that there are lots of things that I missed. I thought i was going bananas. Thanks!

Never seen it because I've never seen the orginal.
I never find the time but when I do I decide that maybe I should wait until I'm old enough to really understand the entire killing yourself in the past to change the future concept.

I said an adult channel that can use a really good show or somewhere good.
Besides, it doesn't matter if the channel is crap, we just need somewhere for the show to air that's on basic cable.
User avatar #34 to #23 - ravenclawz (05/09/2013) [-]
They did make a Hey Arnold into a teenage series infact it was so mature that Nickelodeon refused to make it saying it was too dark and MTV refused it saying it was too similar to another series.
Here is the sauce:

It's stuff like this that makes me feel like closure from shows i watched as a kid. Like i grew up and so did they. Their story didn't end only we didn't get to see it progress. And that makes me feel good.

Nah, the girl in all the pictures is Helga's older sister Olga, who is pretty much the physical personification of perfection as far as her parents are concerned. Therefore the tend to neglact their other daughter even to an extent where in the series her parents will sometimes forget Helga's name. Since not one of those pictures showed Helga in them Arnold did what he could to make them less perfect.
User avatar #10 to #6 - furrysheaperd ONLINE (05/09/2013) [-]
that was helgas older sister and her parents always treated her better and called her perfect so he messed up her pictures

Helga's sister (the blonde in the pictures) is the favorite child in the family while Helga is ignored by her parents. Arnold is offended that no pictures of Helga are on the wall b/c clearly he thinks she is wonderful/pretty/etc. He ***** the pictures up to display his anger at the rest of Helga's family. Helga's sister is 10/10 though, would definitely date the **** out of her.
User avatar #75 to #54 - cormy (05/09/2013) [-]

I assume as a sign of disrespect because Helga was not in the pictures despite being part of the family.

Don't really remember Hey Arnold though, so I could be wrong but that is what I assume.

You're right. Olga, Helga's older sister is pretty much revered by their parents as the vunderkind so Helga doesn't get much respect.
