English people cannot speak the language incorrectly.
We can all start speaking with a completely different dialect and using new words tomorrow, and it will become the correct way to speak the language. English people living in England decide how the "correct" way to speak the language is.

Oh, and it's Aluminium, not Aluminum.

"For the shizzle, my nizzle. I've got a rather thin one on the four-eleven, my good hound. Do not be tripping over your oversized hooded garment, it's all very well, black chap. I shall leave you in peace."

Americans speak a bastardized version of English
#41 to #38 - trickytrickster (05/09/2013) [-]
Because he called it a bastardization. It's just a different dialect. Half the stuff we say now a days was named post 1776, and so our languages evolved differently ie cell phone, chips, hood, elevator, trunk.
User avatar #70 - Gamby (05/09/2013) [+] (5 replies)
Interesting Fact: Americans have actually kept the original English "accent". The British, since the days of Red coats, have actually been the ones to deviate from the norm. Your history movies are alllllll wrong.

not a fact, a theory...

The thing is, you can't judge how people spoke by text as few people knew the correct spelling of words, and judging by poems is nearly impossible due to artistic liberties... either that or according to Shakespear, knees, grease, grass and grace pretty much all rhymed...
