That's not an Italian accent.

"Enjoy-a your flight-a!"

That's an Italian accent. He must've got some Middle Eastern guy or something.

You are right that this does not seem like an Italian accent. It would be like "Enjo you flite" or something (and yes I've been in Italy a few times but usually they don't even try to speak English).

That is true.
Lots of security staff, not necessarily CBSA, are visible minorities and immigrants. This is very noticeable at the Pearson International Airport. There is nothing wrong with this, just as long as the people working are loyal to Canada (ie. are willing to put their life to keep Canadians safe), enforce the law, and comply with the law.

That's probably so that they can racially profile without backlash. Have a few brown and yellow fellas behind the counter so you can say "Gimme those three sand ******* and the one blonde bitch that looks like Brittney Spears got punched in the nose" and nobody will complain.

Indeed, Canada is very multicultural. It is only proper to have a security team comprised of all the different ethnicities represented in this country. I would not say that the CBSA, or other security groups at airports, go out of their way to search particular persons based on their ethnicity. Perhaps it happens, but I do not think that is the policy.

That sounds ridiculous. Canada isn't that multicultural. And even so, it'll be hard to have every single race represented. Noneoftheless, it's an idiotic idea to have minorities in the team just to search colored foreigners. That would make it obvious you're trying to cover up racial profiling.

The only thing that is ridiculous is saying that minorities should not play a role in protecting the boarder. That is outrages, illegal, and racist. Go to the Toronto International Airport, there you will see a mixed group of people keeping Canada safe. Nonetheless, it is only right to allow ALL CANADIAN CITIZENS the right to protect their country. I don't give a damn if they are caucasian, African, or from the Moon. If they are Canadian, and a good citizen, then they have the right to be part of the CBSA.

(It is against the Constitution of Canada to not allow a Canadian into the CBSA - or any job for that matter - based on their ethnicity.)

gif unrelated.

I never said anything about that. I'm saying it's idiotic to have minorities in the field just so they can check people at airports who are of the same race without appearing "racist". It's just so funny how hard canada tries to portray itself as diverse when we're more diverse than you are. Not that multiculturalism is a good thing in the first place.

I guess that is what makes us different. In Canada, we believe that everyone is equal regardless of race, sexual orientation, gender, or religion (etc.).

Regardless of what you think, Canada is very multicultural. Look it up, Canada ranks higher in equality when compared to the US. THis would be due to different laws, ideologies, and an increased population size (for the US).

I think that having a boarder service that represents Canada's diverse population is a great step towards equality. Prohibiting citizens of this country to work in the CBSA, or any job in Canada for that matter, would not be in compliance with the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

Come visit Canada before making judgements on whether it is multicultural or not. It is a beautiful country.

The US was the one to start this whole multiculturalism crap long before canada did. And the only "equality" results I can find is regarding gender. If you look at it this way, most of canada has a huge white majority, but has quite a few minorities mainly in Vancouver and Toronto, but those cities also have the highest crime rates in the country. If you get a bunch of people with different backrounds in the same area, they're bound to erupt. Doesn't matter how much "multicultural" brainwashing you give them. It's part of primal instinct and preservation. I don't think you should recruit only colored people just for that specific job, if you had sense, you would allow anybody to join, even the majority. As far as I've heard, many "aboriginals" are treated unfairly in canada, and often get jumped on the streets. Also, many parts of canada have nothing but Natives in the prisons. There are plenty of Mexican-Americans serving in the border agencies. But we don't make a big deal about it. It seems like canada just tries to compare themselves to us no matter what we do.

That is incorrect. You were the one who made the initial comparison. Indeed, ALL CANADIAN CITIZENS have a right to work in any job they choose without being rejected due to their ethnicity. There is more crime in Toronto and Vancouver as those are two of the largest cities in Canada (Toronto is first, Vancouver is third). Crime rates have a tendency to be higher amongst Natives as many reserves are overwhelmed with drug abuse, depression, and a lack of education and healthcare. This is due in part because of the majority (white Christians) of people wanted them assimilated and they (the Natives) were placed in Residential Schools where they were taught how to be "civilized". These schools are one of Canada's least proud moments, and reminds us of our disgraceful past of racism, discrimination, sexual/physical/emotional abuse that the government forced the Aboriginals to endure.

Nonetheless, this argument is pointless as we will never agree to each others statements.

On July 9, 2012, Falcon says he was stopped by TSA in a San Francisco airport, due to the large bulge in his pants. According to Falcon, after passing through a metal detector and a body scanner, he was selected for additional screening, after which he was released and allowed to catch his flight.
