David Tennant is the ultimate Ascended Fanboy.

Kind of like the girl who played Luna Lovegood in Harry Potter.

Well it's pretty common knowledge that Tennant was a huge DW fan growing up

Well, david tennant is known to have been a really huge doctor who fan since youth.
He allegedly wrote multiple essays on him and did weird **** when he grew up like audition to be the 9th doctor before losing the spot to christopher ecce-whatever who we never hear from anymore, then he became the 10th and started banging the daughter of an actor who also played the doctor.
#176 to #9 - cazabrow ONLINE (05/09/2013) [-]
Dat moment when your realise David Tennant married the chick who played the Doctor's daughter, who is banging the doctor who is the daughter of an earlier doctor.
User avatar #96 to #9 - RisenLichen (05/09/2013) [-]
**** you 9th doctor was best doctor
User avatar #99 to #96 - sketchysketchist (05/09/2013) [-]
I liked him too.
Way more than the 11th, just not more than the 10th.
He'd be above all the doctor's I've never seen in the series if he'd just come back at least one more time.
User avatar #155 to #9 - zaggystirdust (05/09/2013) [-]
"Christopher ecc-whatever"

You watch your god damn mouth when you talk that way about one of the most bad ass doctors of the mother ******* serious, son.
User avatar #157 to #155 - sketchysketchist (05/09/2013) [-]
I really forgot his name.
It just randomly becomes impossible for me to remember how to spell his last name and I'm too stubborn to use google.

I don't consider him the most bad ass, but I liked him.

He did more in one series than matt smith has done in the past ten years. I say ten because it really feels like he's been in the role for too damn long now and we need someone better.
User avatar #169 to #157 - zaggystirdust (05/09/2013) [-]
Oh....

Well once again I manage to make myself look like an ass

My apologies

No sir, you are not an ass.
You are brilliant.
User avatar #52 to #9 - thelostsheperd (05/08/2013) [-]
Actually, Christopher Eccle-however you spell it will be in the new Thor film
User avatar #98 to #52 - sketchysketchist (05/09/2013) [-]
He'll mostly play his famous role of irrelevant extra.
Seriously, I don't see him in many big roles.
Though he did play a fine gritty doctor.
User avatar #135 to #98 - crazyhindu (05/09/2013) [-]
he was in 28 days later...
User avatar #139 to #135 - sketchysketchist (05/09/2013) [-]
I was young when I saw that movie and closed my eyes for most of it.
Was he a soldier, a survivor, or a zombie?
User avatar #140 to #139 - crazyhindu (05/09/2013) [-]
survivor
User avatar #141 to #140 - sketchysketchist (05/09/2013) [-]
He was either one of the renegades or he was that father who died after blood dripped in his eye.
User avatar #142 to #141 - crazyhindu (05/09/2013) [-]
i think he was the father.
User avatar #143 to #142 - sketchysketchist (05/09/2013) [-]
I looked it up, he was actually the head of all the soldiers who captured the survivors.
So once again, only a minor role.
#154 to #143 - Rascal (05/09/2013) [-]
Wasn't just an extra, was the leader of the soldiers, commander if you will. Did the regular post-apocalypse stuff, e.g. go ******* nuts and agree with obviously stupid plans.
User avatar #156 to #154 - sketchysketchist (05/09/2013) [-]
I remember he was only brought up near the end though.
User avatar #144 to #143 - crazyhindu (05/09/2013) [-]
oh well i was wrong

It's okay.

I think he's playing the main antagonist, Malekith.
User avatar #113 to #109 - sketchysketchist (05/09/2013) [-]
...Go on....
User avatar #115 to #113 - thelostsheperd (05/09/2013) [-]
According to wikipedia he is the king of the Dark Elves of Svartalfheim, but there is another villain, I think.
User avatar #119 to #115 - sketchysketchist (05/09/2013) [-]
His cronies will do all the work, he's just the face that'll probably only get ten minutes of screen time at most.
User avatar #67 to #9 - tinglyturtletaint (05/09/2013) [-]
It's a good thing he failed to get the part though. Eccleston played the part he needed to much better than tennant could have. Eccleston's doctor played the important role of being a war veteran essentially. He was fresh out of the time war and scarred by the past and had a slightly different aura than the other doctor's. He was only needed for a short time, so it's good that he was able to play that role so that tennant could come in and play a very doctory doctor and for a much longer time.
User avatar #102 to #67 - sketchysketchist (05/09/2013) [-]
Tennant is a great actor and I'd think he'd be able to play a really decent upset doctor and make it fit into his development from a cold hearted fighter to a more caring person. Kinda like how he changed because of donna's nitpicking of his character flaws.

Though only benefit I see of christopher leaving by the end of the first season is the fact that they managed to introduce everything there is to know about the show in one good season. From the daleks to the fact that the crazy bastard can regenerate and it added drama to the chrismas special where rose isn't sure if she can trust him.
But his lifespan seems like a good waste of what could have been a good era of the doctor, but at least he didn't just disappear never to be seen again like the 8th doctor from that one made for T.V. movie they decided to keep canon.
User avatar #121 to #102 - tinglyturtletaint (05/09/2013) [-]
There's a bit of 8th doctor scattered about, mostly in audio considered canon. Never heard them though. That movie was...well idk how to feel about it really.
User avatar #123 to #121 - sketchysketchist (05/09/2013) [-]
I never really bother with the audio stories.
I know they can be really good and the imagination can make a story look better than any special effects can, but hearing doctor who just doesn't seem the same.
User avatar #125 to #123 - tinglyturtletaint (05/09/2013) [-]
Yeah same here. I know they exist but have never spent any amount of effort trying to track any down. Doesn't seem that interesting.
User avatar #126 to #125 - sketchysketchist (05/09/2013) [-]
Same here.
Even the older seasons don't appeal to me after seeing the first episodes of the first doctor.
It doesn't help that most of the episodes are videoless.

He got his inspiration from the 5th Doctor and wanted to be the Doctor just like him
He later got to play the roll of the 10th Doctor and got to meet his hero for pointers
During the filming of the Show he met the 5th Doctors daughter, during the episode called "The Doctor's Daughter"
In that episode he has the 5th Doctors daughter play the roll of the 10th Doctors daughter through some cell growing machine
He ended up going out with and eventually marrying her.
So the Doctor met the Doctor's daughter in the Doctors daughter and married the Doctors daughter to become the Doctors wife.
Enjoy your wibbly wobbly timey wimey

It's amazing that, despite the Time-lord ability to change genders, skin colors, and I think even limbs (In the old Doctor Who I think one Time-lord chose some sort of bird body once) he's only ever appeared as a white male.
