I think I was actually there once, or a place very similar to it. It was in Czech so I'm not sure if it is the sake ossuary.

Creep Mode: Engaged

That is called an ossuary or a charnel house. In Europe, they were built on/around/in churches because though the wealthy and the fortunate kept dying through the ages, the number of churches with "hollowed ground" or earth gathered from Holy sites in Israel stayed small. As time passed, churches ran out of places to bury the bones, and let them build up. Eventually, they hired an interior decorator or something to figure out what to do with the bones.
Ossuary/charnel houses that I know of off the top of my head are Sedlec Ossuary (Sedlec, Czech Republic) and Capela dos Ossos (√Čvora, Portugal).

I hate that show, it basically states we're useless as a species and incapable of creating great works.

Whether you love or hate religion, or anywhere in between, this is impressive. Pretend it says "building carved out of solid stone."

Religion is imbedded in every world culture, has defined the evolution of the human species, and led to the creation of our greatest wonders. It rose Angkor Wat from the jungles of Cambodia, inspired the byzantine Emperor to build Hagia Sophia, gathered the various peoples of the Nile to construct great tombs for their God-Kings. Sorry but who the **** are you to judge? What have you done with your life that allows you to stand on a soapbox to judge anyone?

Also when you think about it that way, I'm sure they didn't use white people to build the Notre Dame or Kremlin.
