What a lucky coincidence. I have a cool story to tell.

So, I've been playing Dwarf Fortress for quite some time now. If you don't know what it is, it's basically SimCity, except bloody and bloody fun. The motto of the game is "Losing is fun" since you can never really "win" the game.

Anyway, I decided to try something new and do some modding ingame. After completing several custom races and making a species of meatballs that vomit blood all over you, called ************** , I decided to do something more interesting. I tried making a ressurection machine that brings dead dwarves back to life. That way I wouldn't have to train up a new craftsman or soldier every time the old one gets gutted by a goblin or falls into a volcano. So, I coded in the ressurection machine, made all the preparations and picked "alchemy" as the labor required to operate it, since it's not used for anything else. I ordered my dwarves to build the machine, got the corpse of a lucky "volounteer" and fired it up. The machine worked. Sort of. It disassembled the corpse into its' basic tissues and organs and then reassembled them into place. The problem is that I probably ****** up the code and the tissue wasn't connected into a creature - it was just meat, bones and guts floating in place. Then for some reason the parts spread out rapidly. The corpse ******* exploded. I don't even know how. That's supposed to be impossible. Luckily only one dwarf was harmed in the explosion - the one operating the machine. He was bruised and bleeding heavily. Why was he bleeding? Because his ************* right hand was ripped off and his left leg was crushed. Then the game slowed down, crashed and kept crashing every time I tried to generate a new game.

Sound farmiliar?

TL;DR version: I accidentally reinacted Fullmetal Alchemist in Dwarf Fortress. Then the game got pissed that I tried to play god and didn't let me do anything. Had to reinstall it.

Yeah, the meatballs that spew blood were an awesome idea. I should make those again. Maybe turn them into a race. They'll have their own civilisation that's built on blood.

I still think it could work. I just have to tweak it a bit. But later. Right now I'm trying to add magic items to the game and test something. There are kobolds in tha game. The little thieving bastards usually die off pretty quickly since they can't mine or build. They just live off of stealing. What if I made insanely powerful magic items and just left them out in the open for kobolds to steal? Would their survivalability increase? Would they become a force to be reckoned with? Find out in the next thrilling episode of Dwarf Fortress.

Also, before I try ressurection I should try something easier like turning water into wine beer.

The Magneton phenomenon can be explained using physics. The Magnemites are held together in a way similar to how protons and neutrons are held together in an atom's nucleus. It is said that Magnemite fly using very strong magnetic fields, so logically, if one could bring two Magnemite together, they would start repelling each other strongly around distances of 3~5 meters, after that, bringing them together would be impossible for a human.

Even if you look in the picture, you can see each individual Magnemite's arms are next to each other with same poles (red with red, blue with blue). As we have known through playing with magnets, opposite sides attract, like sides repel. The amount of energy needed to bring two Magnemites, not even considering three, is enormous. So according to our formula E = m(c^2), we can deduce that as the weight (mass) of the system increases, the energy of the system also increases.
#2 - sexyenchilada (05/07/2013) [-]
Maybe the energy of attraction between the Magnemites was converted into mass. Still highly unlikely, but hey

That's what I was thinking! It's like the binding energy of a neutron (constituate mass: 1 up + 2 down quarks~9 MeV/c^2, total neutron mass: ~940 MeV/c^2).

I'm guessing it increases in magnitude exponentially.
User avatar #3 to #2 - zgbgydug ONLINE (05/07/2013) [-]
Oh god. About 120 pounds of mass condensed from energy. Not only is that an enormous amount of energy in itself, but the energy required to condense it is just insane. We're talking an amount that makes the world's nuclear arsenal look like one of those small toy snap things

Would you recommend still watching Brotherhood after Fullmetal? I started the regular series and I didn't want to stop in the middle - nobody warned me until it was too late

Drop the old version and watch brotherhood. Botherhood has the "real" ending (from the manga), which is so much more awesome.
Do it. It will be worth it.

I watched both and enjoyed them both as much as each other.
And in dub, too.

I've not read the manga because I like things for the visual; the story may be great but the art is poor. Same with Yugioh, Soul Eater and Hetalia. I only read YGO and Hetalia manga/comic strips because there's a lot of story that isn't in the anime, or the fanservice is filtered out.

Yes, it's probably a terrible reason not to read a manga, but I don't much care, I still enjoy FMA anime.

Both FMA and Brotherhood were very good on their own ways. In Brotherhood there was more action and better homunculi than FMA but FMA made me feel so strong emotions that I think it`s the most emotionally moving series I have ever watched. Most likely because I placed me and my brother in Elric brothers shoes. God damnit, I`m getting emotional even when I`m writing and thinking this...

I'll be honest, I feel that both shows had their own good points. I personally liked the speed at which FMA developed at, as it gave me enough time to have certain things sink in, and give us more time with certain characters, such as Nina. It also did an excellent job of giving important moments just the right feeling.
Brotherhood's animation was a bit superior, and it was very action filled, which is something I can appreciate, and the storyline was quite interesting as well, and I like how it did follow the manga.
I guess what I am trying to say is that I feel that both were excellent shows, and in my opinion equal overall.

And if you disagree with my view, then perhaps the glorious muscles of Alex Louis Armstrong can convince you.
