My great grandmother was some sort of native american (Cherokee maybe) and that's about it, not counting my other native american grandparents.

My great great grandfather on my dad's side was a Cherokee chief.
Sadly, my bloodline is too tainted to call myself a Cherokee..

Most white people claim to be descended from high ranking Natives. Gets annoying.

Well, I'm not saying he was high ranking, but from what I've read about him he was a very brave man. My grandpa let me read our family journals and stuff, I learned a **** ton about my heritage, and that was the most interesting to me.

I'm sounding kinda smug, aren't I...

I'm not to sure why you're getting thumbed down for sharing stuff about your family.
I've always kinda wished that my family had something interesting in it like that but we're just farmers and servants.

Ehh, I guess I sounded kind of arrogant or something.
I wasn't trying to, I just say things wrong sometimes.

Pretty much explains it. I've seen stories like that countless times. And the average Mexican is more indigenous than the average white person in North America.

The blood of humans is never tainted, especially if you believe in your rich heritage. My 10th great grandpa Pushmataha was the chief of my tribe, and was a military General for Andrew Jackson. However I'm 16% Choctaw. Regardless of how little of the bloodline I am, it doesn't bother me. You should be honored that you had ancestors that defended their families and home with their lives, it would make your grandfathers proud.

He died saving his children from a group of white men who raided their camp.
His son went on to have kids with a white woman, and he was killed by her father.

My family has a lot of bloodshed in it.

Humanity will always see murder. Every generation has some sort of war. While there is nothing we can do about that, we CAN chose what to believe in. Will you fall to only seeing the blood shed? Or will you aspire to be like your grandfather?

If I die, I want to die like him.
I want to die protecting people I care about, regardless of how much pain I feel.
That's how I've always wanted to die if I had a choice.

My mother's father fought in the war, and he died from a bullet that had been in him for a long long time ago about 5 years ago, his life ended because of something he did to defend his wife, and my mom, so he died a hero.

If I die like they did, like a hero, then I will be truly happy.
