He could be doing anything to the equation really (for example putting the current right side over 4 and adding 4*7)...still is a strange choice for their website banner
Do you honestly think that I was able to understand the 237 part, but not the simple equation? I said I was not sure where he was going because it looks like he still has yet to finish his equation, as hypothesized by other people commenting.
This is a perfectly legitimate equation in base 9.
>>>>>Base 9: 37 = 2 x 18 ---> (3*9 + 7) = (2) x (1*9 + 8)
>>>>>Base 10 equivalent: 34 = 2 x 17 ---> (3*10 + 4) = (2) x (1*10 + 7)
Assuming the "237" is already in base nine (and he is not referring to two hundred thirty-seven), then here is the solution: 237[9] = (2*(9^2)) + (3*9) + (7) =
(2*81) + (3*9) + 7 =
162 + 27 + 7 = 196[10]
I would just like to educate you all on this. He is demonstrating Base 9 where 2x18 does = 37. So everybody that's like "WOW what a retarted proffesor can understand.
