I remember the first time I saw this. I was very deeply offended and I lost all respect I had left for that guy. You just don't dress like that in a formal place. Not even if it's "in". You suit up. A ****** up suit is allowed, but **** , don't come in ******* overalls, what the **** .

To be fair, Stephen Harper is a person of high stature, whether or not you like him. He is the goddamn Prime Minister after all. People actually do dress like that (although usually not in public) because it's really comfortable. Also, I thought it was hilarious that Stephen called Bieber out on twitter for dressing the way he did

More on topic here, I also dislike Bieber, mostly because he is very well known to be a douchebag to others as well as very cocky. It is fair to say that he isn't a bad person because he's against abortion, but I don't care who you are, saying rape happens for a reason is immediate grounds for someone to dislike you in my opinion.

And just to clear things up, I don't support Harper. I'm actually currently unaligned.
User avatar #219 to #202 - thatnerdyguy (05/02/2013) [-]
Oh I'm not saying I don't like Harper. I don't know enough about him to form an opinion.

Personally I just dont get the whole "dress to impress" thing... regardless of status he is still just a human being, every bit as replaceable as anyone else on this planet. Respect is one thing but I dont think clothing really matters ( not saying go nude of course)
User avatar #634 to #256 - animedudej ONLINE (05/03/2013) [-]
i guess it originates from trying to kiss up to you're superiors by impressing them by dressing in good looking attire

User avatar #316 to #213 - badsamaritan (05/02/2013) [-]
A really really small percentage of women get raped.
I believe the only time for justifiable abortion is if the baby could kill the mom or rape.
User avatar #451 to #213 - coolcalx (05/03/2013) [-]
some people consider a fertilized egg as a living thing.

technically? yeah, I guess it's alive. is it human? that's debatable.

abortion arguments are difficult, because it's all pretty subjective. "where/when does life begin?" is a difficult question to answer
User avatar #459 to #451 - coolcalx (05/03/2013) [-]
also, some pro-life people believe that we don't have the right to take away someone's chance of life.

while you may disagree, you have to admit that it's a valid point to question if we should have the authority to destroy a life after it has already begun to develop.

I think these should be personal decisions, not federally legislated ones.
User avatar #299 to #161 - capslockrage (05/02/2013) [-]
What if a girl gets raped?
She should have to keep the reminder of it, and nurture it?
User avatar #354 to #299 - smarkles (05/02/2013) [-]
Only 1% of rape victims get an abortion if they got pregnant. They don't want their child to get the death penalty for something that the father did. Also, putting the child up for adoption to a couple that she could pick out would be an option to highly consider if she couldn't take care of it herself.
User avatar #613 to #354 - capslockrage (05/03/2013) [-]
What?
It's not 1% it's like 60%
The abortion rate for ANY pregnancies is like 30%

You honestly believe what you're saying right now? How long have you been on this site? How many dubs have you seen rolled? There's been all kinds of things here, and a rolled dubs combined with a statement "if dubs then this statement is true" is one of the most common things around here. I see no reason for somebody to pay any special attention to this type of comment, except IF THEY BELIEVED ONE ROLLED AN IMAGE THAT EXACTLY CORRESPONDED WITH WHAT ONE WAS SAYING. That's what I've been trying to tell you all this time. Just to be sure, I'm going to ask one of the original people who responded to his comment and see if they mistakenly believed his roll to be the image. I may be wrong, after all. But in that case, they just got excited over something that happens every day in the comment section to almost all front page posts.

Well, i for instance have a few reasons:
My cousin, she's 11 years, liked JB and went on his concert in austria, i live there by they way. JB's security were pushing here insanly violently back and were also touching her on some not-so-good spots, breasts and face. She returned from the concert with some bruises and a black eye, because of the other fans.
What's even funnier, i have a friend who works in a hotel which JB was in. JB's room's furniture had to be replaced after they left, he and his friends spit and yelled at the workers of the hotel and if that wasn't enough, hear this:
He left his little pet monkey out in the streets and abandoned him.
<- That little monkey
I was always pretty neutral with JB and didnt give a **** about him, but after what he has done, i hope to never hear or see something from him again

I like a challenge so i'm going to try and be the devils advocate, here goes:-
1) "Rape happens for a reason" This is what he actually said "Well, I think that's really sad, but everything happens for a reason. I don't know how that would be a reason. I guess I haven't been in that position, so I wouldn't be able to judge that" Alright it's a very stupid stupid response but why the **** is he being asked his opinion of rape? That is gonna catch him off guard a bit in an interview isn't it?
2) So what if he wrote that, she was 12 years old, she probably would have been. It's less of something to boost his ego than another stick for self righteous cunts to beat him down with.
3) Yeah well he is very similar to Michael Jackson, except Justin wants to be black and Michael wanted to be white
4) Ever heard of a joke?
5) Remember Napster? Bought any of Metallica's recent albums? Metallica had one truly great album and have lived off that for the rest of their careers. And Lars Ulrich is a ******* cunt.
6) VEGAN STEAK. ******* VEGAN STEAK Gagging on that **** should be the reaction of ever normal human being everywhere
7) Yes he is against abortion because he was raised as a evangelical christian. Even though the pro life opinion is clearly wrong in a lot of cases, he isn't the only person in the world with that opinion is he?

In summary, next time just call him a cunt because he is one. Also that was the most disgusting use of bullet points I've ever seen. Stop that.

I like to add on to a few of your points.
1) His mother was raped. Of course he would say rape happens for a reason because his mother been telling him that since birth.

3) Agree

Take off The Black Album, add Kill 'Em All, and you're correct.

I was going to add Kill 'Em All, but I didn't want to add on too much

I can't read your name without thinking of Double anal penetration.
Just thought i had to let you know.
User avatar #282 to #280 - Dap (05/02/2013) [-]
LOL what? I've had this name for like 3 years, never thought of that.

I just can't read your name without thinking you love hitler. Just.. Something about it
User avatar #288 to #282 - ilovehitler (05/02/2013) [-]
I dunno why, that's pretty weird. My name never even mentions hitlers, it's ilo vehi tler.

Huh, the way the brain works sometimes...

Curious as to which album is the great one

The first 4 are all truly great, the 90s hard rock era wasn't brilliant but better than average, and personally I liked St Anger, sue me

I think vegan steak is an embarrassment to cows everywhere as well, but there are more mature ways to refuse something like that, especially when someone put their time and effort into making it, maybe not specifically for you, but time and effort still went into it. Other than that though, I think your points are pretty solid.
#319 to #25 - anon (05/02/2013) [-]
...And Justice For All, Kill 'Em All, Ride The Lightning and Master Of Puppets are all excellent albums. They haven't come up with anything better than that in almost 25 years, and as much as I'd like to agree with you, there_ are_ a lot of people who really like The Black Album/Load/Reload/St.Anger/Death Magnetic/Beyond Magnetic, even Lulu, and that's OK.
I'm no diehard Metallica fan, AJFA is my favourite although I haven't listened much to those four albums in years, and I haven't really gone to their concerts because I really don't like about half of the songs they choose to play nowadays, but that's just me.

TL;DR Most people consider only 4 Metallica albums to be GREAT and that the rest don't live up to them. There are people who like their new stuff, even though it isn't "GREAT", and that's OK. Either way, saying they've been living off one album is ignorant. And yeah, maybe you think Lars is a cunt, but that's your opinion. Besides, many people are cunts, he's just famous.
#386 to #25 - anon (05/02/2013) [-]
Really, have your opinion but Metallica had ONE great album? Kill 'em All? Ride the Lightning? ...And Justice for All? You my sire need your brain checked if you think they only had one good album.

All of his points were pretty neutral and honest, if you ask me. Not a belieber at all.

You know your statement might be wrong when you decide to post as anonymous

1) It's a simple reply: "I don't think there's much to my response, I disagree with rape; pretty straight forward"

2) No other star has done what he has, It may have been a cute comment to make as a child. But from the moment he's world famous, rich and consequently responsible for being a role model to younger children-- that's a dumcunt move. He could have found a more professional and sincere comment as any other star would do or has done in a similar case in the past.

3) skip 4) skip
5) Just because Lars Ulrich has a ****** attitude doesn't mean a) his move on napster was bad b) he's a bad guy (he donates so sakadaiky) and C) that you can criticise ALL OF METALLICA.

6) He was too ambitious. whatever.
7) I don't want to throw around any insults but it could be suggested that the majority of people that don't like Justin Beiber are those that are of the belief that christianity has set the world back a couple of thousand years with its close-minded followers (this is just an argument-- please do not spam my tits with christianity complaints)

1.) I remember listening to a morning show when this initially came up. IIRC, he was asked his opinion on abortion in a Rolling Stones interview. He said he was against it. The follow up question was about in cases of rape. Considering he was 16 or 17 at the time, can you really blame him? How many teens under 18 can form a well-thought response about abortions in the case of rape? When you consider most adults regurgitate ******** that they heard from church or an atheist without forming their own opinion, it makes a lot of sense that a teenager cannot give a concise response.

I don't think anon understands the proper use of bullet points.
User avatar #575 to #567 - mayormilkman (05/03/2013) [-]
It's not the anonymous user posting that...
User avatar #586 to #575 - rmoran (05/03/2013) [-]
Oh.. I don't know the layout then. I just saw anon.
User avatar #590 to #586 - mayormilkman (05/03/2013) [-]
P.S. Tumblr does not take rape lightly at all, including jokes about it. That's the deal with a few of the bullet points.
User avatar #593 to #590 - rmoran (05/03/2013) [-]
I think only 3 of them were properly done. The others were just nonsense or spread out into multiple points.
User avatar #597 to #593 - mayormilkman (05/03/2013) [-]
It seems to be their sort of dialect over there.
User avatar #598 to #597 - rmoran (05/03/2013) [-]
Well I don't like it.
Although a huge part of FJ is just stealing Tumblr's content, most of the posts carry the highly annoying "I'M DONE", "GET OUT", or "THAT KILLED ME" that kills the mood. I'm glad I don't visit that site or I'm sure I'd go insane with rage.
User avatar #599 to #598 - mayormilkman (05/03/2013) [-]
That's just the surface. From what I've seen so far, whenever something from the "social justice" side of Tumblr gets posted here, a good amount of our users miss the point of the posts. Around a third of the users I've seen here who are already aware of it here are also /pol/ regulars.
