What my dad did for my sister was to sit in the kitchen sharpening a machete while staring silently at her date. I thought he was going to pass out.

Rage at me if you wish, but I need to get this out of my system. I have been dating my gf for over a year now and I am SO ******* SICK OF ******** like this, you'd think that her parents and family members would be used to me by now but because of this stupid ******* mentality of "Oh I need to be overprotective of my daughter and threaten her bf constantly to be a good parent" is a huge pain in the ass to deal with. Why the **** would you think it's okay to threaten a guy you don't even know about a topic that should be discussed in a calm, civilized manner. DO YOU ******* PEOPLE THINK YOU'RE COOL? DO YOU THINK YOU'RE FUNNY? IT'S NOT ******* FUNNY. Look at that poor kid, that father probably ruined his prom night. "Oh I'm all cool being an ass to this kid my daughter knows and trusts; I'm going to ruin his prom night because that makes me a good father." **** YOU. I'll have you know, if your kid is having sex, and its not rape, their partner isn't the one to ******* blame. ITS YOUR KID AND YOUR PARENTING SKILLS. "OMG THIS KID HAD CONSENSUAL SEX WITH MY DAUGHTER! I'M GONNA PUT A HOLE IN HIS HEAD! THAT'LL TEACH HIM! THAT'LL SOLVE THE PROBLEM!" - ******* Idiots. Plus, they look old enough to make their own ******* decisions to me; I mean, they're eighteen or seventeen if they're going to prom. stupid asshole.

okay. i am done raging now. sorry for the text wall.

Hory shet, I think someone's bubble of holding **** in for a long time just burst. Sucks to hear you have to deal with **** like that mang. But chin up, if she's worth it, then grind dem teeth, bear it then move right the **** out.

I know how you feel man. One of the reasons I'm not going to add to the fire.

For the adults: Remember, if you threaten to hurt your daughter's boyfriend, they are still going to have sex, and when she ends up pregnant and he is suddenly in another state, you have no one to blame but yourself.

I would honestly choke that asshole with the gun until he blacked out and turned blue in the face. I do not take kindly to threats.

As of April 18th of this year me and my girlfriend have been dating for a year. My GF's dad wanted to keep us away on our anniversary, and tried his damn near hardest. Why you ask, why would a father want to keep his daughter away from her boyfriend on their anniversary? Because "They've been together for a year, I know what I was doing at their age, and I know what I'd want on this day. And I ain't lettin them have the chance!"

Luckily, her mother stepped in...

Feels man. Let's wallow about it together. Saw you had a red thumb (idk y) so i thumbed you back up :)

Eh, I figured it was because I was complaining lol.

He's done a lot of crap like this, it got worse the day he realized he couldn't ACTUALLY kick my ass. (He was huffing and weaving with a suitcase and dropped it. I asked if he wants me to take a try at it, he said sure, and I was able to carry it no problem.) Now he's always on the defensive, and constantly threatening me. He won't even let me hug her without starting his growling.
User avatar #189 to #188 - cmilanes (05/02/2013) [-]
ahahaha at least for you its just her father, her mom hates my guts too. Plus, she's bipolar and flips out at me randomly; no joke. You know, her parents are out of town this week and all they've done this whole time is be suspicious and harass the both of us. doing **** like calling her everyday telling her they installed cameras in her house (which they didn't) "so she had better not bring me over while they're gone". ***** annoying as **** . What makes it worse is that today my gf was late to picking up her brother after school because she was WORKING in the LIBRARY and her parents automatically assumed she was doing something with me... now she's crying because she thinks her mom is going to beat her when she gets home and try and force her to say she did something she didn't do (because she's done it before)(as i said, she's bipolar and insane). Anyways, ***** annoying as **** and really messed up. Plus it hurts like a bitch :/
User avatar #190 to #189 - torexofthenight (05/02/2013) [-]
I know what you mean, I actually found out my GF's dad is abusive. (It's not often, but he tends to flip **** ) Not just physically either, one time he up and left (said he wasn't coming back). He told her it was her fault, and that she hopes she's happy now that her moms gonna be miserable. Then he walked out the door, when I found this out I already wanted to kill him, after that I wanted to gouge his eyes out and light him on fire, let him suffer.

I've never cared for anything in this world as much as I do her. I'd die without a second thought for her, even more so, I'd live through hell for her. I'd do anything and everything to protect her, so when something like this happens, that I can't do anything.... It drives me insane.

so you did end up getting some nookie?
User avatar #181 to #149 - torexofthenight (05/01/2013) [-]
Actually I've turned her down before, simply because I knew why she was doing it.
At the time that she "offered herself" to me, her friend recently had a break up. The break up was actually because her friend didn't want to have sex yet. My girlfriend was scared if she didn't put out I'd end up leaving her. So I turned her down and told her I want to wait till she's ready. That's why it pisses me off when her dad does things like ^ that. All I want is what's best for her...

my ex gf (together 3 years) had parents like this. one day her dad (scary trucker guy) pissed me off and I accidentally let slip the words "I will ********* you if you dont **** off" he laughed... then later whispered in my ear that he respected me but would tear out my esophagus if it happened again... still shagged his daughter I win.

I had to get a ride from my gf's dad around date 4. I motioned that I was going to be a second as I closed up my door. As soon as I get in the car, he starts asking me why I gave him the finger ...

He was joking, but said it in a very serious tone, and things didn't lighten up much after that. This was literally the first time I had ever seen him before.

That's what I'd do, of course I'd remind the guy don't do something stupid but I'd tell my daughter the same thing, and I wouldn't be breathing down either's necks, if someone is confident they aren't a **** up as a parent they shouldn't worry at all about prom and the like, if they do they could jeopardize their kids own future and maybe a chance they had with someone they truly liked.
User avatar #59 to #54 - cmilanes (05/01/2013) [-]
I concur. In fact, I think that instead of shouting sex is death, parents should educate their kids on the weight of its consequences and how to do it properly and safely. Finally, they should as you said, trust in their skills as a parent to have educated their child to make good judgment.
#69 to #51 - sxeindi (05/01/2013) [-]
exactly. it makes a lot more sense for parents to be more realistic about these sort of things. daddy isn't going to be around 24/7
#62 to #38 - sxeindi (05/01/2013) [-]
agreed. I'm not even male and this gets me really angry. there's not point to it, no benefit, and it simply makes everybody uncomfortable and upset. it seems like it's a long tradition for the father to be "tough" and scare the boyfriend away but sometimes the girl is the toxic one in the relationship.
User avatar #39 to #38 - cmilanes (05/01/2013) [-]

User avatar #60 to #43 - cmilanes (05/01/2013) [-]
yes sir, but my point is that A: I'm not the only one. B: I know better and they should know it by now. and C: parents shouldn't have to threaten their kids to make the right decisions; they need to trust their judgement when it comes to relationships

I dated a girl who's family was super strict crazy christian (not the kind with real beliefs, ideas, and doctrine, but the kind that go around converting victims of natural disasters, saying that Jesus ****** them over because they didn't give money to the church) and one time they dragged me to church. After an incredibly antisemitic service, in which the pastor claimed that Jews should be blamed for the Holocaust, I was introduced to this girl's church friends. Thats when it got bad. The first guy I met was an ex Chicago cop, who had already ran a background check on me. The next guy looked me right in the eyes and told me if I ever hurt this girl, that he would break into my house, sedate me, drive me out to the middle of no where, and dismember me limb from limb. He was completely serious. Man would he have flipped a tit if he found out how much I partied with this girl....
