Somebody made a reference to Greece without bringing up its lack of a functioning government and a stable economy...it was a good day

You got lucky too. In America is only mentioned in one of two conversations. The first is about democracy and the second is about butt sex.

The grand majority of the greek people are suffering incredibly right now and yes we do pay our taxes. It is a large chunk of the filthy rich that take advantage of loop holes in the system and tax evade.

Where in Greece did you go?
User avatar #344 to #182 - johnwoodstock (04/30/2013) [-]
well, i went there to see my girlfriend, i don't want to tell her city, but we went to athens, many times because i love Monastiraki and going to Public.

And we have been to many places, Acropolis and Agora and we spent a weekend in Naplio, in the 4 Seasons Hostel. We went to some iconic places but i try to diverge from the 'mainstream' monuments and just get involved in the culture. it's a really awesome place
User avatar #349 to #344 - iamtheblackgoat (05/01/2013) [-]
It sure is...Crete is the best, it really captures the old village life that a lot of places have lost
User avatar #357 to #349 - johnwoodstock (05/01/2013) [-]
we haven't been to Crete yet, she wants to take me to an island and she'll probably take me to Naxos, maybe this summer, who knows. And I've been in a village somehow close to Thermopylae, a village by the see, really cool

User avatar #308 to #197 - fallenoffacliff (04/30/2013) [-]
Not the same person, but two summers back I went to Rhodes, Santorini, Crete, and Athens. The majority of the trip was spent in turkey (a week in an apartment in Istanbul then traveling along the Aegean coast)
User avatar #310 to #308 - iamtheblackgoat (04/30/2013) [-]
Well, I guess I can forgive you for the Turkish leg of the trip...how's Rhodes? Only place on your list I haven't been
User avatar #318 to #310 - fallenoffacliff (04/30/2013) [-]
It was nice, we took a ferry from Turkey. We stayed in a hostel and met some very cool people. We only stayed for one day, so we didn't do too much. We just kind of explored the town.

I know. We went to the harbor and saw where it might have stood. They should just build a new one

www.guardian.co.uk/artanddesign/2008/nov/17/colossus-rhodes-greece-sculpture

Worth the read....it'll cost 20mil euros to build, but a German guy is financing it, so at least there's some small guarantee that the money is there =/

ive been to the US, and i love the nature, many of the people i meet was open, normal people. i dont think either europeans nore americans belivie this **** map. but i would love to live in america, the thing i dont like about it, is the way many private churches can preach and teach what ever the want, i makes much of your population stupid as hell,, the other thing is that you realy have no support from the government, and they are seriously screwing you guys over.

but as i said, the nature and fatty food in america is worth tryng before badmouthing a whole country

That picture of America isn't even completely incorrect. I wouldn't call the whole middle section Texas, but I would call it "All kinda the same". Put someone from Europe on a highway in Dallas. Then instantly teleport them to a highway in Detroit. Then instantly teleport them to a highway in Chicago. Then ask them what they think how many different cities they have just been in, and their answer will be "Uh... it was all the same city, wasn't it?"

Germany's famous for its porn? i thought of something else... anyways, i'll present you the most infamous dialogue in a German porn (the woman is showing the man (an electrician) the junction box):
woman: "so, this is the junction box we always got problems with"
man: "okay, but why is there straw here everywhere?"
w: "and why do you wear a mask?"
m: "well, then suck my dick"
