Things back there were different, he didn't care about how much he would have to pay because he knew he would get them
He told them, that after they get their money and he is free, they will be crusified. After being free he assambled an small army and ****** them up

They can hear, and see what you're visually thinking.
This is the absolute complete truth!!!!!

Asians hide their mind reading abilities by a lot of them having completely expressionless faces so they don't accidently show facial expressions when people think things they don't like, find funny, astonishing, etc, and Asians segregate so their not nearly as susceptible to that happening.
Asians also segregate, and are untalkative to avoid accidently saying things that are similar to what people are thinking and going to say.

Try thinking, and visually picturing things that are as wild as you can when you are around Asians, and look for Asians who give people dirty/particular looks for what appears to be for completely no reason.

Arrogant? He was one of the most powerful leaders in history, that was just building a reputation for him and either way if he was released he would've just probably hunted them down and killed them.
User avatar #56 to #53 - toughactintinactin (04/28/2013) [-]
He more than likely had them found and killed, at the time the Roman empire was immensely powerful. I honestly couldn't see anyone get away with it for long.

Atm Caesar was a petty insignificant Politician who didn't even have adequate renown to become a Praetor let alone a Consul (True leader of Rome). He became famous and renowned especially after this event, when people actually think "wow rome needs a new badass bad asses kicker"

Yes, leader of the world... If the world was only Europe and the north coast of Africa. With that amount of silver, you can buy your way wherever you want, and they may not ever find you again. Hell, that amount of money they could've bought a country.

I didn't go full retard. I was in error yes, but not full retard or even part retard. I see it as a simple mistake easily made considering the geographical location of the Roman Empire and the notoriety of Sicilian pirate kidnappings. How was I to know of a minor ethnic group frim a different region that had similar practices?

Sicily= an island south of italy

Cilicia= pretty much turkey

pirates often came from cilicia and not sicily so OP is correct

He then threatened to kill them all
and he did.
the only thing that man really failed at was the invasion of Britain. Thats why rather than go to many of the more sensible locations to invade Claduius invaded Britain simply to show up Ceaser.
#51 to #37 - anon (04/28/2013) [-]
His biggest failure, according to himself, was the 9th legion traition.
#80 to #51 - unijaw (04/28/2013) [-]
Was that the legion that failed and he essentially killed everyone that drew a short straw and then reformed the legion?
User avatar #88 to #80 - oniryuuko (04/28/2013) [-]
Wasn't it everyone was killed *except* those with the short straws? I can't remember if it's this case, but I know there were legions who were literally decimated (which, contrary to popular belief, means 'To be made a tenth of the original', not destroyed) simply for failing to win a battle.
#99 to #88 - unijaw (04/28/2013) [-]
I was under the impression that two legions failed in Gaul. He murdered the majority of the survivors and with those he did not murder he formed into a new legion.
User avatar #121 to #99 - justinsane (04/28/2013) [-]
Its not murder though. It was standard military procedure. Decimation was incredibly rare, but it was legal and considered a good way to recover lost honor. Usually it was routing legions that were decimated.
User avatar #101 to #99 - oniryuuko (04/28/2013) [-]
