Bing was launched in 2009. So it's ability to be on this graph in 2004 is super impressive

As is Yahoo's ability to stay on top of google for as long as it apparently did...

The graph is showing all of Microsofts search projects under the most recent name Bing. Since 2004 there has been Live Search, Windows Live Search, and MSN Search, all pretty much the same thing with different names.
#443 to #2 - anon (04/26/2013) [-]
What if it existed already before 2004 and someone just thought that since nobody had ever used it, they decided to fake it in -04 to make it seem new and shiny?

i hate to be party pooper or whatever, but just in case anyone was wondering. Companies that use winzip are required to buy a license or else they can get sued or whatever. It's actually pretty cool of em, let the average joes use it for free but have the companies pay for it to keep it running.

My friends and family do it all the time, not realising chrome's page bar is also a google searchbar.

They open chrome, search for google and proceed to complete their search their. I really need to stop myself from slapping them. My inner rage has enough power to propel jupiter to light speed if they then google a question like: "how long do I have to let a steak cook to have it rare?"

if you try yahoo, you will find that it ain't so bad. In many cases it offers more diversity than Google. For example, if you search for videos on Google, the first couple of pages are likely filled with Youtube vids, but if you search Yahoo for the same, you will get a more varied result. Just from my personal experience.

I know every time I see relatives using the internet who are either too young or old to know any better, their home page is always yahoo because of the email.
Then in order to go to another site they type out the entire url in the yahoo search bar, right ******* below the address bar.
I've watched so many times as they searched Yahoo for http://www.google.com, so they could search something else. I've lost hope in explaining it to them.

It's actually a chart of Google searches for those keyterms, which means there have been an increasing number of people searching for Google on Google (insert IT crowd reference).

This is likely due to the chrome search bar being a Google search and people who do not know trying to get to Google.

I use bing for good reason though. If you register it with your facebook up to 30 searches a day are turned into 15 bing credits among other things you can get credits for. You can redeem these credits for things like micrsoft points, amazon gift cards, redbox rentals etc. I get $5 Amazon gift cards which are available for silver members for 475 pts. and gold members for 425 pts. I use it also to get an idea some of the current events since it has a section for popular/trending searches.

Sorry if this is wrong, but I believe that is cataloguing the amount of times people searched Google for that. That means that people searching for Yahoo were only slightly ahead of the idiots who google "google", and then they were even fewer.
