yeah, but League was SO vastly different from the comic.

Plus, Moore doesn't like comicbook movies because he feels that comics should be seen as their own iconic medium, and if they're constantly turned into movies, it takes something away from each story.

Can someone explain how Fawkes became the symbol to represent freedom and overthrowing tyranny? Yeah, he tried to bomb what he perceived to be an oppressive Parliament, but keep in mind that he was trying to install a proto-Fascist theocratic police state. There's a reason he's burned in effigy every year, dude was a total dick.

Pic related.

Guy Fawkes was a well known criminal in Europe, a lot of people (crooks) admired him. When he was finally caught and sentenced to execution he wore what is now known as the "Anonymous Mask" when he was hung to hide his identity so other crooks would continue admiring him. That's what I always heard at least.

V takes time to reference "the gunpowder treason and plot" which Fawkes was involved, more or less saying he is using Guy Fawkes as a symbol of his own rebellion... or I'm just spouting crazy talk again. But that ones is less likely. Much less.

What in the **** did it have to do with "evil white people"? It was a fascist totalitarian party that had orchestrated several security disasters (killing thousands) in order to seize control of the country and violently purge people of "undesirable" race, religion, sexuality and politics.

The Norsefire party was white because a) it was based in England, and b) it was inspired by the real-life Nazi party. It has nothing to do with white people being bad. As you'll recall, all of the main characters were white as well, with the possible exception of V. I don't remember there being many minorities in the crowd, considering Norsefire had them all ******* murdered.

You can answer your own question:

It was a fascist totalitarian party that had orchestrated several security disasters (killing thousands) in order to seize control of the country and violently purge people of "undesirable" race, religion, sexuality and politics.
>OY VEY THIS IS HOW A WHITE CONSERVATIVE GOVERNMENT WOULD BE
it was inspired by the real-life Nazi party.

I don't remember there being many minorities in the crowd, considering Norsefire had them all ******* murdered.
Have a gander at the scene when the revolutionaries expose their faces. For what was shown in the movie, the amount of brown people sent a subliminal message.

********, you see what you expect to see because you're a fascist cunt with a victim complex.
It was set in ******* ENGLAND, what race do you ******* think the dominant party would be?
No one needs to speculate about how a white Conservative government would be, because England has actually had white conservative governments before. Many times. The movie even said that Norsefire defeated both the Conservative and Labour Parties in a landslide.

Here's the final scene, and it seems you were right:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=c8UtojJT8ts
There are some brown and black people in the crowd. There are also people, like the little girl with the glasses and that comedian Gordon, who actually died earlier in the movie, so I assume some people in the crowd represent the "ghosts" of those who had been murdered by the Norsefire regime.
In case you weren't aware, England today consists of more than just white people, and so it did in the movie universe until Norsefire's ethnic cleansing.

The government hurt their people and killed them off in secret. The government continued to lie to their population to keep their greed-filled lives full of privilege and corruption.

The move is a statement about freedom, justice and truth. The man hid behind the mask to remain anonymous as a sign that he speaks for everyone, he was the embodiment of the people. He gave his life to protect them. In real life, the mask is sometimes used as a symbol of protest.

At the end of the movie, when the people took off their masks, you could see the statement the movie producers were trying to make.

>White Government BAD
>Diversity and Modern Democracy GOOD

The storyline was suited for this statement. The White government was evil, oppressive, murderous; stereotypical of what Hollywood portrays Hitler. The revolution was diverse, tolerant, and for "freedumbs." I doubt this turned any people into hostiles of our current governments, rather their biggest supporters.
