By that logic, we're cannibals for eating cows, pigs, and every other mammal that humans normally eat.

Hes saying they're not the same species, so its not cannibalism. Its like how cows and humans are both mammals yet its not cannibalism if we eat them.

While hes correct, a rock dove is most certainly not the same as a common chicken, theyre still of the same family, Id compare it more to eating a monkey, not cannibalism, not quite right... kinda delicious... I mean... grey matter... area... not monkey brains shut up

You're making incorrect assumptions. The rock dove and the common chicken are not even in the same order, much less the same family. Rock doves belong in the Order Columbiformes, while chickens are classified under the Galliformes order.

Huh your right, separated as far back as the Class... well done angry blackman, been a while since biology class, but my point is still valid, that these 2 are at least both birds, the same we are primates

Who said that's a chicken leg. Some bad ass might have been fed up with all the doves in the area, caught one and fried that ****** up, just to feed it to his family.

It would be more like us eating a chimp. Birds are a lot more closely related to each other than mammals are.

Fellow portuguese member here. As far as I remember, I've eaten pigeons my whole life. We breed them at my house with the sole purpose of being eaten. They've a darker and strong flavoured meat, which I can assume as an aquired taste.

Yes exactly my grandfather does the same thing, but he also has racing pigeons, I've never liked it but they seem to love it so yeah good for them, i'd rather eat partridge or rabbit

In Norway (Bergen, to be precise), you just have to pick one up and break it's neck, then all you have to do is cook it. The pidgeons are so accustomed to people, it should be fairly easy. There's even some hobo thats kinda known for doing this. Can't buy 'em, though.

My dad owned racing pigeons. The ones who aren't fit to race anymore goes to our digestive tract. It's actually quite tasty. (Very similar to chicken)

It's actually common in some European countries. I know they do it in Cyprus and I'm pretty sure they do it in France too. The culinary term is Squab for more info:
