oh how things have changed

Pokemon Now
Alright. New I just have to EV Train
my tank in my special sweeper by
beating machops to raise the
special EV level to 125. New if I can
just breed this pokemon 700 times
until I get the Pedo nature, which
raises its special up by E
points. After' that I sho as gas get a
choice scarf and same leftovers but
I have to raise its hp to a multiple
of it since leftovers raises the
health by MT...

It's not like it matters unless you play competitively.
By all means bro, keep the childlike innocence (HAH!) and keep having fun with your favorite mons. The way it should be, honestly.

I still do that. I catch the ones that look cool, give them all the high-power moves and just spam them with no concern for stats, defensive moves or items.

Seriously though, something like sand-attack can give you a huge advantage
User avatar #69 to #64 - luthervonappledorf (04/23/2013) [-]
All the sand attacks in the world won't help you when you have a Level 100 Blastoise knows Surf, Hydro Pump, Earthquake and Blizzard.
User avatar #101 to #69 - Nightinear **User deleted account** (04/23/2013) [-]
Actually, if you have a pokémon with high evasive stats and it's using sand attacks your blastoise's chances of hitting are slim
User avatar #96 to #69 - garaichu (04/23/2013) [-]
Never say never.
A friend of mine ended up beating Giovanni with a lvl 16 Pidgey with barely anything but Sand Attack.

Because that's how true Pokemon Trainers play, none of this "EV" **** , I'll go train an Eevee if I wanted to EV train.
User avatar #98 to #44 - hanabro (04/23/2013) [-]
I'd say the "true" pokemon trainers are the ones that take training to the ultimate level. The ones that want to get absolutely everything they possibly can out of their pokemon. They want to make their pokemon the best they can possibly be, not just lazily train them because they don't want to put in the extra effort. Sure, you may be a Pokemon trainer. But the IV breeders and EV trainers, are the only ones who are actual Pokemon Masters.
User avatar #65 to #44 - Nightinear **User deleted account** (04/23/2013) [-]
>Implying you know what a true trainer is

Only the trainer knows what is true

1. You do not EV train a tank in your "Special Sweeper"
2. Beating 73 machops would not raise your Special EV to 125, it would raise your ATT EV to 146.
3. You can breed a pokemon 25 times to get on average every nature, but IV training is still important
4. No nature raises SpA Att by 2 unless your Pokemon is like lvl 25 with **** IVs, expect at least 12 pts out of that **** .
5. You cannot hold choice scarf AND leftovers, Choice scarf doubles speed, leftovers recovers health.
6. You dont need to get HP to a multiple of 4 because Leftovers raises Hp by 1/7. It heals 1/16th per turn and you woulnt get a select number of EVs for this because your IVs will determine health and make you lose good EVs on like DEF or SpA or some **** . The extra 1 pt of HP isnt worth it.

7. Earthquaking all you *********** is a viable strategy on a pokemon that has been Baton passed double swords dance.

#87 to #57 - magmaseraph (04/23/2013) [-]
You cannot train IVs. You can train EVs and breed for good IVs.
Otherwise: Good Job.
User avatar #135 to #87 - fauxshores (04/23/2013) [-]
Thats what I said, your IVs (Base stats) will determine health because they scale with level and would modify your health to the point you would have to rework the way your EVs are allocated so that they would reach a certain number, which isnt worth it.
#137 to #135 - magmaseraph (04/24/2013) [-]

I don't know.
Most of them seem to appear randomly, either on the web or in the world of outside.
I think they can be bought via time or "emotional investment", although throwing food and cheap jokes at them seems to work too.

Clearly, I don't have that many of them either.
