evolution/god/whatever made sloths kill themselves so easily because they'd take over the world and enslave every other species otherwise.

I'd love to be a sloth catcher. You would have time for everything and you would walk around care free in a forest just plucking sloths from trees and they have no idea whats happening.

The quote is just **** man.

Coming from a slight misanthrope, humans are the most intelligent species on Earth, and all other animal species has gone through as many years of evolution as we have, so really that quote was just ******* stupid.

No, no, I got the joke all right. OP was just a faggot as usual.

Have we, though?

Maybe we're actually aliens placed here by our superiors for a social experiment, wiping our minds and placing us on a primitive planet, seeing how long it takes before we drive the planet to destruction.

make it even more awkward: almost all the animals, when born, can manage to survive

guess what will happen if you leave a newborn child alone

This is the cost of being an intellectually advanced species. There are two factors that contribute to this. One is that the more we gain in learning capacity, the more we lose in instinct. Secondly, the size of our brains have necessitated an increase in the size of our skulls. This in turn makes it more difficult for human babies to be born. This results in human babies being born in an earlier stage of development than many animal babies, which makes them more vulnerable for a longer time. But when we grow up, we grow up smarter than anything else we know.

What newborn animals can survive on their own? Newborn cats can't even open their eyes. Newborn birds can't fly. I can't think of a single baby that isn't completely helpless. What newborn is able to fend for itself, right from the start...?
User avatar #50 to #30 - themanwithnoplan (04/21/2013) [-]
Certain species of, if not all, Seaturtles.

They have to crawl from their hatching place to the ocean while probably never seeing their mother.
User avatar #56 to #50 - TastyBurger (04/21/2013) [-]
That's actually kind of sad... :O

But tears aside, that isn't almost all animals. Barely even a few animals. As far as I know, all newborn mammals are defenseless. There might be a few more species that aren't completely defenseless though.

Humans have the most efficient way of moving around. On two feet.

There is a tribe in Africa that will hunt deer by walking after them until they (the deer) fall down from exhaustion.

Funny stuff.
