Here is a cat GIF.

I have a dog. A pure boxer as a matter of fact. Her name is Lucy. She is 10 years old. In dog years she is very elderly. I love my pet. She is slowing down in her years, but every day I wake up she is still there and always happy to see me ( and I am happy to see her). How will I compensate if I wake up one day and she doesn't wake up? She is the longest living pet I have ever had.

When I was a child having a pet it seemed simple, but now as an adult sense I have had her for so long how can I deal with an elderly pet and then with the possible death of her?

Shared story time
>Be 7, about a month til 8th birthday
>Never ask parents for anything (we were poor, so anything was appreciated)
>This year folks ask "Have anything in mind?"
>"A dog?"
>Ensue ********* of "Not responsible enough! Lotta work!" Blah, blah, blah.
>Supah sad.
>Birthday rolls around, get a card and cake (Hooray)
>Getting ready to go to bed
>Mom hollers "Let's go see Aunt Nunyabusiness!"
>Supah stoked. She's a wicked cook and would surely have birthday yum-yums for me
>Go up the holler (lived in hills of WV, all family in our holler) to Aunt's
> **** ton of people. Looks like the family reunions
>Get out of our piece of crap car, uncle spins 'round
>Tiny sheltie pup in his arms
>Start the water works
>Cry tears of joy I've never felt before

To be continued....

>Real scrawny and picked on a lot
>No friends
>Feel true friendship for the first time in my life
>Hold my new best friend in my arms weeping while my family basks in the moment of man and friend
>Rascal slept in my bed by my side that night and for many nights to come
>Only friend for years
>Do everything together, tell him about all the dickwads at school
>Forgot housekey one winter had to sit outside til folks got home
>Snowing, cold as **** , wore shorts (dumb as **** )
>Rascal cuddles up next to me to keep me warm
>Sleight riding, hit a tree (still dumb as **** )
>Rascal tries to drag me to safety
>Wreck 4-wheeler into creek
>Submerged under water
>Rascal barking to get parents
>But they don't come and just think it's a car or something
>Got out from under it because still scrawny as ****

To be continued again. Sorry if these suck. Never told this story before. I'm nostalgia'ing so hard, just lemme go with it please.

My dog somewhat does this, not as extreme though, its a territorial thing, he doesn't need to be hungry, as soon as you're near it, he goes all "What the **** do you want, ****** ? My food? Well you cant eat my food if it's already eaten"

My cat only drinks if no one is looking, if someone looks at him he just wont drink. and if you look at him he looks at you with his HUGE eyes into your soul and waits till' you leave.
P.S he drinks from the sink that we need to turn on for him so he can drink, then he waits.... and waits... you leave and he drinks.....
dunno why.
its k i guess.

My cat that died last year would eat while you were gone. But if you didn't make him a plate of what you were eating, and set it at the table for him, he would be pissy

He had his own special seat too. Right at the end. That seat isn't used by anyone still today, and guests that come over aren't allowed to sit in it because that is still his spot. Because we never saw him die, my parents said "We're never going to let someone sit in that seat, because you never know, maybe one day, he'll come back, he just got lost, and he'll look in the window, and see someone at the seat, think we've forgotten about him, and leave, never to be seen again"

This was the cat that I grew up with, and he'll never leave my memory. Along with my other cat that is currently still living with me, since he is the most gentle cat in the world

My favorite cat that I've ever had actually used to not eat when I left. He almost died when I left to Florida. I came home and took care of him and he never left my side, always cuddling with me and trying to get my attention. He used to go outside a lot and the whole neighborhood loved him... Except ONE of my neighbors... He was the most amazing pet I've ever had and he was more than just a cat to me... One day he got out and never came back... I miss him so much. No matter what I was going through, I always had him by my side to comfort me. All I want is to at least know what happened to him. It's mostly the mystery that kills me, because someone could have taken him or he could have gotten hit by a car or abused by neighborhood hoodlums. It has haunted me every single day since that day in November last year.

I know your feel, bro.

I had a cat that was with us for years, I helped her mother give birth to her and I helped her when she had two litters of her own. She was an outside cat, so she wandered from time to time, but she always came back. But, sometime around December last year she left again and I haven't seen her since.

The mystery really sucks. We have neighbors who have these two German Shepards that they don't keep on leashes that have gotten our animals before, but Baby was really tough. She could have been picked up by somebody and kept, she would never keep her collars on and did have the look of a stray, but I'm never going to know for sure.

Oops, sorry for the long-ass story.

He was very healthy and only a year old. I don't think it was quite his time, but I guess it's possible.

I had two other cats at the time and there was a place in my house where they could get out (it's fixed now) and they got outside a lot. I think the one neighbor that is a total dick about everything may have lured them to her house and had them taken away by animal control/the humane society. It's very possible that they may have just got picked up just for being outside, because one was wearing a collar with an old number, another had lost it's collar because it took it off and the other (my favorite) could take it's collar off after fiddling with it for a bit. They may have got picked up because just two blocks over, there is a huge cat problem... Or just taken by the neighbors who liked them and kept inside their houses. I've called every humane society/shelter in the area several times and went to several people's homes asking if they've seen him or either of the other two and nobody has.
