For the sake of humanity I hope so.

I hardly tolerate any religion, especially Islam. I don't get why so many other liberals support Muslims considering they're trying to pull social progress back several hundred years and vehemently oppose secular humanist values.

Yeah, I know 2edgy.

This religion vs Non Believers is starting to get annoying, one side is all misquotes or out of context passages from the bible, and stupid comparisons. While the other part is represented by idiots who haven't read even one passage of the bible and gets butthurt and feeds the fires of ignorance that is MOST (note, not all) of atheist community.

Some christhians should learn to ACTUALLY embrace their religion, while some "Atheists" should build an actual philosophy instead of being rebellious and not wanting to do the annoying part of being a christhian. (Annoying about the parts that we say shouldn't be done but are the most fun).

Needless to say, Arguments on the internet are most pointless of all.

TL;DR: Both sides are stupid.

it's practically impossible to build a common philosophy since the only thing we have in common is the fact we lack belief in all deities. Some came to this conclusion by going through the books and seeing nothing of value, other through reasoning that science has more to offer in terms of truth, or a lot that just got angry at their god for punishing them in a way or another and denouncing belief in him (the last one is the stupidest kind, since they tell the guy they don't believe in they're not believing in him anymore).
Some people have tried to make a basic philosophical position for atheists, but have inevitably failed since there was no common ground (I need a synonym for "common"). We mostly branch out and embrace things we like from any philosophy we can put our hands on (including religion).

As for religious debate, I find it beautiful. It's a subject that encompasses so many subjects, from reality, to morality, history, and psychology, just to name a few. I think the problem people are having is taking themselves and their positions too seriously, instead of enjoying the fact two people of completely different beliefs can share their thoughts on a subject and maybe learn from each other.

.... Your comment was... overwhelmingly beautiful. I rarely find someone who agrees so completely with my philosophy (note, this is philosophy, not religion. Many people disagree with my religion, you included most likely). Why can't we just stop taking ourselves so seriously? I think many of this world's problems stem from people taking themselves seriously. Can't we step back and laugh at ourselves every now and then?
I think my concept of heaven would involve this. That, my friend, is paradise.

I can't agree more with you just because it's impossible, physically, mentally, and sexually. Thanks for taking your time to reply to my ranting.

Y'know, I'm pretty sure this is a joke, everybody here needs to sit and breathe for five minutes and un butthurt themselves.

.... Why do you have to be so damn stubborn....
Really, what someone else believes shouldn't affect you so much, unless of course they try to push their beliefs upon you. OP, what are you trying to do here?
