The fact that this guy called Hitler an "idiot" is just baffling. The man was a genius, but with the wrong intentions, really. If he didn't decide to commit genocide, he could have been the world's greatest leader to ever live. He rose Germany out of a very deep depression after the first world war when it's unemployment rate was around 30%. So much so, that Germany gained enough strength to become a world power and was able to do what it did. Without Hitler, Germany would have been so ****** . Before Hitler rose to power, Germany had over 200,000 suicides in the past year. So I wouldn't exactly go around throwing such babble about subjects where you know nothing of.

Actually, Hitler was not nearly as intelligent as you, (his worshiper) think.
The way he rose Germany out of the depression was a stroke of luck after drastic measures that nearly any above-average intelligence person could have done.

Nice to know that you would have been one of the people to suck his dick, though.

He couldn't of done it without turning everybody against the Jews, non whites, socialists and homosexuals. He and some racist friends told everybody to blame them all because they wanted a scapegoat and being told that you're part of a master race and those different to you caused the bad life your having it will make you feel better as you won't think it's your fault as you have someone to blame!. If the socialists had scapegoated all non "pure" Germans instead of or before the fascists history would be very, very different as the communist party would have rose the power similar to the Nazi party did.

He was also quite mentally unstable, he was often described as "weird" and it's believed being "weird" gave him a strange edge. Also towards the end of the war all assassination attempts on Hitler were done by his own officers betraying him because the allies wanted him alive, he became so fatigued and unstable that he was leading Germany into defeat.

I implore you to read about Hitler beyond a highschool level. This delusion that hitler was a mad genius is infurating when you know more about him.

1) Hiter's policy's of expanding infrastructure with highways and great works resulted in great underemployment and inneficiency as skilled individuals were doing jobs far under what they were capable off.

2) Primo de rivera, dictator of spain 1923-1930 carried out the exact same economic reforms as hitler and yet failed to pull his country out of crisis. How did Hitler do it then you ask? The austerity measures put in place by previous governments were unpopular but were beggining to take effect as 1933 (the year he was elected) employment figures were at a high and Germany was pulling out of recession. He was in the right place at the right time.

3) The president of the Reichsbank Mr Schacht was an economic genius and it was through him that Germany has any chance of reforming as he introduced policies of gradual reform that disallowed inflation from taking hold while the country's economy and armaments expenditure was rapidly expanding.

4) He fired him a few years later. Yeah

5) He disliked paper work and had the mentality that 'things would sort themselves out' given enough time. The Nazi regime was actually really inneficient as Hitler apointed several ministers for the same job causing massive amounts of infighting and inneficiency.

He was not an economic Genius. Period.
#302 to #96 - enkmaster (04/19/2013) [-]
He wasnt a genius at all. He is often seen as a military mastermind, but that is far, far from the truth.

Hitler's early conquests were due to Blitzkrieg, designed by German commanders in the 1930s. Hitler just supported it because he knew no one else was using it, and it is obvious that using a completely unheard of tactic will give you an edge.

Mid War, once it was clear that Germany was starting to lose ground (but not clear that it would lose the war), Hitler started making mistakes due to his paranoia, and sacked numerous great commanders so he could take control of their forces.

Yes, the war probably drove Hitler insane to some degree, but his decision to invade the Soviet Union, even though it *seemed* that Britain no longer posed a threat, was frankly stupid. Hitler even outlined in Mein Kampf that starting a War on two fronts was the greatest mistake one could make in War, but he went and did it anyway. Military Genius.

Later in the War, 1944 ish, Allied commanders even had *multiple* plans available to kill the Fuhrer, many of which probably would have worked if used. Instead, though, they realized that Hitler was making so many tactical and logistical errors that killing him would just cost more lives and prolong the war, as whoever took over would most likely fight until the Reich lay in ruins, and do so in a better fashion than Hitler.

Long story short, Hitler was a bad leader, a bad commander, and a wonderful public speaker.

Pic semi related.

User avatar #92 to #6 - mooghens (04/18/2013) [-]
The only reason the economy got better after hitler got into power was because he broke the versailles treaty and started mobilizing and equipping a massive army, with one purpose in mind, and that was military offense. His long term economic strategy was based entirely around pillaging other countries, which sure as **** didn't work out that well once he broke the alliance with the soviet union and decided that waging war on two (three if you count africa) fronts was a good idea. (hint hint, it's nr 1 on strategy 101's list of big ******* nopes of war)

the only thing that he was good at was rhetoric and manipulation, and even that is questionable since its not unlikely the nazi party would have rised to power anyway since every time a nationwide depression or similar misfortune happens, extreme ideologies are on the rise irregardless. (See current day Greece for instance)

tl;dr: He was in fact, a ******* idiot.

He didn't actually do much to pull Germany out of a depression, he just changed the way the viewed the statistics and what job was done by certain people. He removed Jews and others he was against from jobs and replaced them with the Germans he did like and didn't count Jews and the other minorities as people so they didn't get counted in the unemployed statistics. He got those who didn't work and forced them to work doing manual labor for the public e.g. making roads and such (Which I personally think is an idea modern governments should look into) but the pay was horrendously low. He just made everyone think things were better so he'd get more support.

User avatar #31 to #27 - huszti (04/18/2013) [-]
Germany didn't get double ****** because of WW2, WW1 ****** it at least thrice, the treaty of versailles was a piece of **** . Germany would be a third world country because of the treaty of versailles if it wouldn't have gone "rebellious teenager". the treaty made it possible for hitler to become what he did and for what happened to happen.

#40 to #31 - fatlumpthefirst (04/18/2013) [-]
I agree that the Treaty of Versailles was a stupid idea, an unjust demand and did have affect how easy it was for someone like Hitler to come to power, but I think it was made more to please the public of the other countries at the time because I'm sure a lot of people from the other countries who came out 'on top' in WW2 were very bitter for the damage done and the losses lost and demanded they get a lot of extra revenge for WW1 happening and all.
User avatar #34 to #31 - godisdog (04/18/2013) [-]
Well due to its split nature and allegiance, it really would not be incorrect to call Germany a third world country and if Hitler was an "intelligent" leader he wouldn't of broke the non-aggression pack with Russia and invaded during the Winter. First of all, where do you get your information from? Hitler wasn't average in intelligence.. His IQ was around 143. And I bet you believe that he actually had a "final solution" of just flat out killing the jews and that he ordered it, don't you?

User avatar #44 to #41 - hueareyou (04/18/2013) [-]
First of all he wrote two books, so that source is partially invalid. He wrote Mein Kampf and Zweites Buch. Also, he didn't take a test, but his demonstrated IQ was pretty high.
User avatar #45 to #44 - godisdog (04/18/2013) [-]
Lol ok then i'll estimate mine 177. I'm pretty sure I could write some books on eugenics and foreign policy. Besides the second book was a sequel and largely unpopular, so some people group them together. Do research if you're really interested.

User avatar #65 to #64 - hueareyou (04/18/2013) [-]
Misguided? I'm not defending anyone, but the hypocritical view point of how Nazi Germany actually worked is just ignorant. People need to actually learn what happened instead of just saying that hitler spent endless amounts of money to put jews in ovens and gas them, when in reality, he didn't do either of those things..
User avatar #68 to #65 - godisdog (04/18/2013) [-]
I never mentioned either of those, but I guess since your set on this we will do it. What I said, all I said, was that Hitler was most probably not a genius, and because of the manner in which he ruled and the way in which it ended, he is not a good leader from a factual basis. Both pretty hard to argue since their really isn't much to call Hitler a genius for (I'm talking about people Einstein, Fitzgerald, Nietzsche, who was basically Nazi btw, not some made up number). I also said he was an asshole, I don't think that is very disagreeable. So tell me exactly what accusation you're upset about.
User avatar #73 to #68 - hueareyou (04/18/2013) [-]
I'm not upset at all, but when you come along spewing out this info about how he's basically an idiot and how he wasn't a good leader is just ludicrous. Also, how is he an asshole? He didn't want to kill the jews in the first place. He made a different part of Berlin where the jews could learn basic skills to run their own society, tried to make it so that they didn't have to live with the germans, but instead they kept trying to gain power in germany and in other areas of Europe. He just wanted them out of his country since they were power-hungry parasites at the time. That's what the "final solution" was. To send the jews back to their own countries and get them out of europe. He never once gave the order to exterminate the jews at all. Unless you want to show me documentation of a Fuhrer order to kill the jews, then go for it and I'll accept defeat on him being an asshole.
