We don`t need a warning because it becomes cold the minute you go outside.
Even in summer.

They put a warning for being hot on because the coffee served in coffee shops from industrial coffee-makers is about 50 degrees hotter than when you make it at home. It's served hot enough to give you 3rd degree burns - at which point it goes from being a frivolous warning of something thats obvious to a 'No really, be careful because this will **** you up.'
User avatar #40 to #36 - Wartottle (04/18/2013) [-]
Yeah but if it feels hot when you're holding it you can just realize "BOY this thing sure is hot maybe i shouldn't drink it just yet" Because on American frozen pizza boxes"Remove pizza from plastic wrapping and cardboard before you place it in the oven"
User avatar #83 to #40 - asschwitz (04/18/2013) [-]
It's not because people are stupid, it's to prevent the company getting screwed over by some jackass exploiting laws.
#175 to #83 - Rascal (04/18/2013) [-]
"...some jackass exploiting laws."

EXACTLY. people in other countries don't sue for ridiculous ******* reasons.
User avatar #200 to #175 - asschwitz (04/18/2013) [-]
That's a rather bold statement to make, so you have an infinite knowledge of every court case that has ever taken place around the world?

i think if someone is stupid enough to not know that drinking bleach is bad, its probably for the best that they did it
#190 to #117 - vrthbvyfa (04/18/2013) [-]
Why is this getting bad, how do you know drinking bleach is bad?

Someone ******* told you not to drink it or it would kill you. I bet you don't even know how it kills you. It is like in Britain, measles was ******* rare, until people decided that they didn't need the MMR vaccine because it hurts, no one ever gets measles and some idiot made a shoddy connection between autism and the MMR.

The moment you stop taking the warnings away idiots will start dieing. Idiots like you.

my mind was blown when me, my mom and my sister had to take a detour into america when going to Canada one year (because cheaper tickets) and we met at least 4 people who had Norwegians in their family tree (i'm sorry if i don't make all the sense but English is my second language as i am Norwegian)

and if i am not mistaken there are more people of Norwegian descent in america than there are Norwegians in Norway (so there is maybe 10 million as compared to the 5 million in Norway)

the point of this is that in Canada we have laws that protect company from abusive lawsuit, in that case, somebody who would try to sue the company because he burned his mouth because nobody warned him that the coffee was hot...
User avatar #6 to #4 - sandworm (04/18/2013) [-]
timmies and mc d both have caution sign on their cups saying its hot....
#7 to #6 - jeanmariegrangon (04/18/2013) [-]
yeah because they are not making a specific model of cup for canada... that would be a loss of money...
User avatar #8 to #7 - sandworm (04/18/2013) [-]
they do for quebec french/english on the cup

just saying
#9 to #8 - jeanmariegrangon (04/18/2013) [-]
It's simply because here in quebec the bill 101 makes it illegal to only write warning in english, instead of writing nothing at all they choosed to do it in both language because there is a small chance that somebody would simply bring back his cup in the USA and then sue the company

I love America, and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. But...this IS truly the underlying problem in this country: we cater to the stupid, petty **** , and people and leave the hard-working ones in the dust. Didn't New York recently pass something that banned extra large drinks? Doesn't New York have the ******* highest murder rate in the country? And which one did we choose to deal with? The ******* pop. Nice.
#137 to #118 - Rascal (04/18/2013) [-]

I would also like to mention that there is a great documentary on Stella Liebeck v. McDonalds called Hot Coffee. It has aired on HBO and is quite awesome.

User avatar #121 to #89 - jakefenris (04/18/2013) [-]
It's sold in the states, so instead of producing cups for Canada and others for the States, it's cheaper to just the same ones.
