I found a picture of who actually did the bombing. Here it is.

Here in Northern Ireland, terrorist acts are never blamed on the Middle Eastern person.

In all seriousness, if it were a stereotypical Middle Eastern terrorist organization, such as Al-Qaeda, they would have claimed responsibility for the action right after it happened. My guess is that it was Colonel Mustard in the kitchen with the wrench.

Honestly, the news reporters were being completely stupid. "is it considered an act of terrorism if it was done by a U.S. citizen?" "Did Obama use the word terrorist?"

But it was, they have someone in custody.

I understand your point about stereotyping though.
#2 to #1 - ClicheUsername (04/16/2013) [-]
Because the person in custody is definitely the one that did it. Stop making assumptions, jackass.

When White people partake in terrorism, we do it right.

Boston is primarily Irish...

You do know that Ireland has more terrorist organisations than the middle east, right ?

What's the difference between terrorism and normal crime?
User avatar #33 to #30 - flemsdfer ONLINE (04/17/2013) [-]
Terrorism is something meant to install a mass fear in the public basically. Usually to intimidate for political reasons.

There are a few groups of people that are possible suspects.

Religious radicals, Mainly muslims, but other extremists have done similar **** , like the nerve gas attack on the Tokyo subway by some cultists.

Separatists like the IRA do it too, but as fas as I know there is not underground movement to make Boston a sovereign nation.

Communists and anarchists, this is unlikely, simply because it's rare these days. Violent extreme leftists tend to commit violent attacks in the form of riots or assaults on individuals.

Neo-Nazis and right wing extremists. This is also unlikely, simply because guys like that rarely attack random crowds like this. They tend to attack government buildings and employees.

Lone lunatics. It's possible that this is the act of a single crazy guy, but that's also unlikely, simply because they tend to target individuals, not crowds.

The Norks. Very unlikely, they'd never risk starting a world war by attacking US civilians like this.
The GUBBERMINT!!
There are a few things we know.
The targets were random civilians, not part of a certain political group.
The attack was well planned and probably carried out by a group of people.
The bombs used were very primitive improvised bombs.
This was a very public event and was picked to cause maximum public panic.
This pretty much rules out every one except religious loonies, and the government.
Most sensible people would say that the government would never do **** like this.
So what we have left are religious crazies, and off all the violent extremists Islamic radicals are by far the most likely suspects statistically.
