I like books, but i want them in english and i live in Denmark. That cancels out libraries, and since i often have to buy them, getting a kindle would be quicker

Yes, mostly because my friends have this annoying habit of coming unnanounced to my house when I'm working on a project. So, where's the one place they'll never suspect to find me? The library! I even swap out my contacts for glasses to go full incognito.

I like reading books too, but my Kindle is just amazing. I sacrifice the feel of paper and the knowledge of how far I have left in a book, for storage and mystery. I like not knowing when my book ends, and I love having all the space for my books. I can read anything, whenever, wherever want.

But, nothing beats the real thing. I take a break from my kindle once and a while and hang out at the library. So refreshing.

Oh yeah, that's another amazing thing about e-readers, (Depending on which e-reader we're talking about. Some can't read comics). The comics look great. I honestly prefer comics on an e-reader over regular paper. You can choose to read by the panel, or the entire page. its great.

you know whats not awesome? not having any friends to be in a zone with.

I decided to change my chances of getting pussy. I have started working out. If I cant get a girl with my good looks ( I always looked good, just morbidly skinny) than its going to solely be because of my social skills.

THIS IS THE SCIENTIFIC TEST YOU GUYS, THE ONE TO SEE IF GIRLS ARE MORE SHALLOW THAN GUYS. IF I GET LAID BECAUSE OF MY LOOKS THAN BY ALL MEANS JUDGE WOMEN LIKE THEY JUDGE US

but what if looking good gives you a confidence boost which will boost your social skills and it turns out all you needed to do was be more sure of yourself?

also (this doesn't go for you but people in general) if a supermodel marries a millionaire, she married him for his money and he married her for her looks, so in the end they're both shallow assholes and neither has the right to complain.

Trust me, I wont be getting a confidence boost. I have a pretty damn strong Anxiety Disorder.

but also I agree and disagree with your second statement. Perhaps the literal scenario that you mentioned is true to its context. However, if it was simply two good looking people, would it be so wrong to expect them to be together?

think of it this way, if you put forth effort in making your outward appearance appealing, would it be too shallow to expect a mate to do the same? Kind of like the law that every action has an equal yet opposite reaction.

yes i agree, people want to date others who are equal to them. smart people want to date other smart people because they have something in common and that gives them a lot to talk about. people who spend a lot of time working out want to date others who do the same, its something that they both like doing and can do together.
if someone loved going camping and hiking it would be weird if they dated someone who hated it.
if you want to find a girlfriend you need to look for people who share similar hobbies as you. because you like the same things you can spend a lot of time together without getting bored of each other or having uncomfortable silences.

There was a post on Funnyjunk a few years back about a guy whose father was disappointed in that he never intended social events. One day, he said he was going to a party, his Dad was over the moon. He did this for the next 5 years or so, to keep his Dad happy. In reality, he went and walked round by himself until the early hours of the morning.

Well that's not to say a nerdy girl can't be attractive, it's just...you need more than what you wear to be a nerd. If she was a legit batman fan, having seen loads of the films and knowing lots of characters or something then yeah, she'd be more likely to be nerdy. But it just seems a bit unlikely, really.

The number one assumption I hear is that guy's don't like you because you're not "slutty and pretty".

First of all, no one wants to have a relationship with a slutty girl. Maybe for sex, but I'm assuming you don't want a relationship based on sex, right?

And second of all, sorry to break it to you, but there ARE things called "standards". Personality can only get you so far, and the same goes for looks. You can't have a relationship with someone who's "just interesting", just like you can't with someone who's "just pretty".

I wasn't saying people don't use others for sex, but the person I'm replying to most likely did not want this type of relationship, so I disregarded it.

I don't understand. Shouldn't your bf/gf be your best friend? To me it's like the perfect relationship. Why should I have him, if he's just there to waste space and to **** every now and then?

Even if he's not the prettiest guy out there - if spending time and having conversations with him is fun - he is bf material.

It's true! Nerdy people are the best to hang out with, but not always the best looking
But that doesn't matter to me :)

As was stated on Revenge of the Nerds, jocks always think about sports, but nerds only think about sex.

You know there's a middle ground, right? Those are the two stereotypes of nerd girls.

Yes, and it is also John Green from a metric fudgeton of other things.
