I'm kind of disappointed that they left that scene out in the first movie and only put it in for the second.

there is a 40 million dollar museum called "creation museum" and its basically built by creationists who refuse to let go of the old bronze age idea that the world is 6000 years old so they try to think around it by building this museum to teach people that dinosaurs lived with humans 6000 years ago ...

"God was there in the beginning and wrote down in the bible..."

What the **** . I'm no Christian but I'm pretty sure they don't believe that, if that's the case God likes to talk about himself in third person A LOT.
User avatar #12 to #6 - Sinless (04/12/2013) [-]
I was raised Christian, read the Bible from the beginning to end and everything.........and there is absolutely way of knowing how old the world is solely from the Bible. The only legitimate case that can be made from the Bible is that the world is at LEAST 6000 years old.

Many aspects of creation are greatly unaccounted for in the book of Genesis. Any ideas of the age of the world made from the Bible are wildly fallacious. Those guys in the museum and any others like that are incredibly stupid.
User avatar #18 to #12 - shikurukato (04/12/2013) [-]
The 6000 years old thing is in reference to the first human in the modern christian belief system (Adam), which most people don't realize.

It traces back the genealogy listed in Genesis forward form there, and there we are at 6000 years old. The earth isnt 6000 years old in the actual belief system, just human life upon it.

That said, you're right, Christianity (as is every other religion I've researched) is extremely mired in logical fallacy.

But most Creationists believe dinosaurs already lived alongside man, so it would actually be very interesting!

No one said anything about Christians in the comic. It says CREATIONISTS.
#59 to #17 - anon (04/12/2013) [-]
Yes, but creationism is a subset of christianity
User avatar #63 to #59 - RandomAnonGuy (04/12/2013) [-]
No it's not. Islamic Creationists, for example.
User avatar #20 to #17 - demandsgayversion (04/12/2013) [-]
It has a jesus.
User avatar #21 to #20 - letmetellyouastory (04/12/2013) [-]
Yes. Creationist believe in Jesus Christ. They believe that God created all organisms on this planet, as they are, thousands of years ago.
User avatar #23 to #21 - demandsgayversion (04/12/2013) [-]
A creationist could be anyone who believes in a higher power, it doesn't automatically mean jesus
User avatar #22 to #21 - demandsgayversion (04/12/2013) [-]
Christians believe in Jesus. Nobody else.
User avatar #25 to #22 - letmetellyouastory (04/12/2013) [-]
Christians believe in God and his son Jesus Christ. Christian can believe in God, Jesus, and evolution without contradicting their principles and believes. Only Creationists don't believe in evolution.
User avatar #26 to #25 - demandsgayversion (04/12/2013) [-]
So if I say "A higher power created the laws of physics that spurned the universe and evolution", I'm not a creationist? Also, you're off topic now, as the comic does refer to christians (who are creationists, as if they believe in evolution and science, they're pretty ****** christians), because it shows a jesus.

You said, "the comic says nothing about christians", which is wrong because it shows a jesus.
User avatar #28 to #26 - letmetellyouastory (04/12/2013) [-]
No you wouldn't. And doesn't directly say anything about Christians. It indirectly mentions Christians through the use of a picture of Jesus, but directly talks about Creationism. You don't have to be a Creationist to be a Christian, but you have to be a Christian to be a creationist. Which also indirectly implies Christianity. The point of the comic is Creationist are silly, not Christians.
