I was born in 1996, and have a sister born in 1993, so I was kind of able to experience both the some of the 90's and some of the 00's.

Personally, that is what I feel the meme is more about.

It's less about what decade you were born in and more to do with what decade you identify as growing up in. Personally the 90s held nothing for me. I was 6 by the time they ended and the only interesting memories were pokemon Red and Power Rangers... uhm... yeah there really wasn't anything there of note more than that.

Conversely, the turn of the millennium brought with it a tidal wave of high-quality games and cartoons that constituted the single greatest decade to be a child in of all time. So much to do, so much to see, so much to play and the internet was really beginning to shift into high-gear.

I'm a 00s kid because that is where I grew up.

third, the whole 90s kids remembering is becuase most of thier stuff was pull after only a couple years. (you know what splat is? dont google it or you lose) while this stuff has only been gone for about 3-5years, and many have made reboots.

The point was to make a parody of the 90s kid meme based around a concept of the now-over 00 decade. The parody works on several levels. The primary level being a parody of the meme but then on another level it stays true to the meme, evoking fond memories within the intended audience.

People seem to have taken it the wrong way though (welcome to the internet) and whilst I enjoy a good spat every now and then (vile language and the like) I personally prefer a less vulgar conversation. An example is my first post in this chain. After making a valid point I realised my audience was unreceptive so I enjoyed splashing out on the second.

I have to admit, I find the whole reaction to this content hilarious.

Actually, there are several indicators to the trolling.

For one, his account is clearly only there for the sake of being there. It is overloaded with red thumbs and is probably a backup account so that he can spit bile without taking damage to his primary account's rep.

Then there's the tone he's employing. Clearly inflammatory.

There are other, more subtle, hints but the two most telling factors are in the open, hence I point out he is too obvious. It is an easy conclusion to make.
