EA customer support in a nutshell
#216 to #9 - Rascal (04/10/2013) [-]
I actually went through a plethora of phone calls, emails, and more to get a problem I was having with Origin resolved. While the problem itself took a while to resolve, I was pleased with the professionalism and friendliness with which EA's customer support helped me. They also gave me some free junk in BF3 in the process and I was even bitching to them that whole time...probably should have. Might have gotten more free **** .

How bad do you have to be, as a game company to be voted worst in a time where banks fail, stores treat their personel horribly, oil spills and human rights are neglected for profit.

Only EA can do such a thing...
Gif unrelated.

People who care about this vote = Gamers
People who found this vote = Gamers
People who can rally the most haters the best = Gamers

The poll means absolutely nothing. It's just a lot of butt hurt gamers who will vote on EA even though plenty of other companies are far worse.

What would be a company worst than EA IYHO. Activision? DICE? Bungie?
#178 to #138 - curses (04/10/2013) [-]
The oil company BP or something that ruined a lot of things with the oil.
The banks stealing billions from people and similar stuff.
PETA that burn down huge factories.

Plenty of choices. Also the vote is for every company in USA. Game companies are not among them except for Capcom.

Paid DLC on disk.
Less and less features in their games on sequels.
Almost always charging for characters.
Killing off MegaMan franchise and not doing anything good with it. The few times it tries to do fan service they throw in a MegaMan costume into Dead Rising which look absolutely horrible and the same goes for Lost Planet.

Activision is also a good choice for a worse company. Always charging for it's DLC. Charging for it's Elite thing for their game and it was only for an year too. It's free now but it was a thing they charged for in the start.
EA gave a thing like that away for free.

Activision was also the company that made DLC cost $15 as base for like just 3 maps and nothing else. It's also only the boss that sees this money. Not the developers.

EA have done bad stuff but they are far from worst.

because their consumers are gamers, so the polls actually mean something unless they release the game for nongamer consumers

I think the only thing that would make them 'wake up' is if everyone stops buying their games. nothing speaks louder in this world than the almighty dollar.. or euro, or yen, or... **** it you get the idea.

EA and Activision have completely ruined the gaming industry with their fast release dates, low standards for making hard videogames and "online passes" and micro transactions out of the ass.

The reason why we have new games now coming out every 6-8 months is because EA and Activision force their games out, when they could be done better. The less time spent on a video game, the worse the game is gonna be. But in order to compete with these companies, the other companies that previously put time and effort to make an incredible game, are now having to release games just as fast, causing the whole industry to release easy, underdeveloped games.

Almost every game is being "call of dutified" because other developers see that people like quick and easy gratification, so they try to make their game more like call of duty thinking that more people will buy it. It is sad really, that video games are being defined by a shooter that allows for someones dog to walk into their room while they are taking a **** and the dog licks the controller and gets a quad with a light machine gun. .

Not to mention, that EA has a system where you need an online pass to play their games online, and they only way to get the pass is by buying the game full price, meaning people who buy it used, or rent it are ****** . And now almost every game holds off content that they could have put in the game as "DLC" some developers even know what the first DLC is going to be before the game is released. That is money whoring to the maximum.

And micro transactions? Cmon, you give me ****** armor and weapons and the only way to get better ones is by buying them for $10 on top of the $65 I already payed? When did video games stop being about making the best and most fun game and start being about just money?

They claim that one can create LGBT characters, and for most of that acronym, they're right. But what EA game allows one to create transgender characters? Sure, you can dress a sim up in feminine or masculine clothes, and use cheats to switch the sex of a sim, but I don't think that really counts. Is getting a sex change an option in the latest edition of The Sims 3?

Something that really pissed me off in that article is when they say "Some claim there’s no room for Origin as a competitor to Steam. 45 million registered users are proving that wrong." origin is no competitor but they make it so we can't get the games any other ******* way if they were to release games on steam as well as origin then origin would fail horrifically but no ea had to be different they had to be ******* cunts and create something that sucks they couldn't be like hundreds of other game companies, they had to be money grabbing cunts.. **** you ea, **** YOU.

There are companies that single-handedly brought the world economy to its knees. There are companies that destroy people's livelihoods. There are companies that waste away the planet we live on in huge strides. But no, a ******* company that makes video games is rated the worst. How inexcusably **** does that company have to be to deserve that title?
#123 to #104 - Rascal (04/10/2013) [-]
It wasn't a statistical research study. it was a poll. as in "how many of said company's fanbase despise them enough to vote as the worse."

bank of america and other banks ****** us over and pretty much helped caused he recession. if this was a study, i'm pretty sure they would be up there in no.1. but it was poll. And EA has racked up enough haters in the gaming community since people see them as greedy ********* .
User avatar #276 to #123 - rmoran (04/10/2013) [-]

For everyone that replies "Huehue gamers are entitled whiners". You go to a movie and it sucks, you just wasted $11 and 90 minutes. When you get a **** game you've wasted $60 minimum and 10+ hours of your life. It's even worse when EA vultures a franchise like Mass Effect that you've put dozens of hours of work and hundreds of hours on and then rapes both it and your wallet.

It's a consumer bases poll. It's basically about who ***** with their customers the most. Most companies on that list do this through greedy tactics, but EA overtly harms their customers and doesn't care. Their entire thought process is "will people still buy the game if we do this?" if the answer is yes they will justify any horrible business practice. Virtually every EA title has some fatal design flaw in the name of money. Either it's blatantly rushed, shackled by DRM or has parts of the finished game cut off and sold back to you on day one.

EA doesn't make games. EA publishes games. Games you can't even ******* play. Lots of people bought Sim City, $60 each and couldn't even play it for like the first two weeks, and second of all, everyone without an internet connection doesn't have access to the game. Also the game wants you to pay for nearly every ******* thing in it. So before you even say anything look it up, dumbass.
User avatar #326 to #275 - dtcrawl (04/11/2013) [-]
Dude are you serious. I really don't play many video games, and I don't really concern myself with what step in the process EA deals with.

However, EA did not cause the mortgage collape in America, spill hundreds of thousands of gallons into wilderness, or employ children at the age of 9 to create goods for westerners. Those companies should be the worst companies of the year, not an organization that "publishes games"

Sigh... Unpopular, but justified opinion coming up.

As much as I absolutely despise the business models EA has practiced over the last years and how I generally hate them, how can they possibly be worse than candidates such as BP and numerous other companies that have exploited employees, cheated customers, caused major environmental damage etc.?
The answer is they can't. This is all a product of angry teenagers with nothing to do but to troll on the internet. They see a target that has hurt their favourite hobby (which is mine as well) and start band wagoning against it without providing valid arguments as to why they believe having microtransactions in Dead Space is worse than destroying the environment. This poll is meaningless, it holds no merit. I cannot fathom how low consumers have sunk because they feel butthurt. Jesus christ man, grow the **** up.

BP is a million times worse then EA. Bank of America is worse then EA. Almost any company that has adult life notions such as oil and banking is worse then some company that wants you to pay more to play your virtual reality football game.
