I'll say it again.

We will only consider disarmament when government leads by example starting with the military and police.

Look, if there is any reason the cops have to go to a public place to stop someone. Just get on the ******* ground with your hands in the air. they learn in acadmy, they aren't there to protect you first, then are there to stop whatever the threat is first, by securing the area..

DUDE, Swat cars are insane. The doors are super thick and heavy and somewhat difficult to open because of the weight, the glass is super thick in every window. And the inside in the back it's just to bench seats on either side with seat belts... really plain but really awesome.

Was a detailer at a Ford dealership and one came in to get accessories installed. Had to get a look. It was brand new so not all the high tech stuff was in it yet.

just felt like getting that out

User avatar #45 to #42 - helenwheels (04/10/2013) [-]
The war on drugs.
User avatar #46 to #45 - schneidend (04/10/2013) [-]
The only drug that shouldn't be "warred" on is jane, and we're well on our way to legalizing that.
Everything else? Yeah, definitely needs to be illegal.
User avatar #48 to #46 - helenwheels (04/10/2013) [-]
People should have the right to ruin their lives if they want to, all drugs should be legal.
The age to drop out of school in some states is 16 but the drinking age is 21.
Statutory rape is considered an extremely serious crime but in some states(IE Nevada) theirs no limit on how young you can get married if you have parental consent.
User avatar #50 to #48 - schneidend (04/10/2013) [-]
We're going to have to disagree on whether people have the right to "ruin their lives if they want to," as that is the most slack-jawed idiotic philosophy I've ever heard.
User avatar #81 to #50 - helenwheels (04/11/2013) [-]
Then clearly you are an invasive busy body with nothing better to do on your time then tell people what they should and shouldn't do.
And you should really abandon that philosophy because people are going to do things whether or not they have your approval.

Oh great and powerful sir with an infinite amount of wisdom, I apologize that others do not accept everything you say with complete and utter blindness because you are clearly so much wiser than everyone else.

User avatar #6 to #5 - douthit (04/10/2013) [-]
I'm a criminal justice major and senior in college right now. I originally got into CJ because it sounded interesting, and I wanted to help and protect people. But my views have since changed, and I realize that very little of what cops actually do is dedicated to protecting folks. The rest is spent enforcing arbitrary laws like speeding, unconstitutional laws like gun control, victimless crimes like drug use and prostitution, immoral laws like tax laws, and protecting people from themselves with things like seatbelt and helmet laws. I've heard it all before "I'm just doing my job, blah blah blah." Does that make it right? You may not be shoving Jews in ovens, but you're certainly driving the trains to get there.
#11 to #6 - anon (04/10/2013) [-]
>arbitrary laws like speeding
anywhere for 12,000-14,000 deaths each year in the U.S. result from speeding.
>unconstitutional laws like gun control
look, some people just are responsible enough to own a gun. like convicted felons.
>victimless crimes like drug use and prostitution
this seems like a fancy way of saying "420 blaze it faggot". injected drugs result in transmission of HIV/AIDS. driving under the influence of any mind-altering drug is dangerous. then there is the obvious dangers of PCP and cocaine. again, saving lives here. as far as prostitution, it also spreads STDs if no protection is used. if you think the street walkers you see arent victims, you are simply wrong.
>immoral laws like tax laws
wow. pay for your stay you **** . taxes pay for your country.
User avatar #12 to #11 - rynkar (04/10/2013) [-]
**** YA ANON! why cant they all be like this one!?
User avatar #15 to #11 - douthit (04/10/2013) [-]
Wow, do you have any sense of morality at all? Speed limits are arbitrary numbers assigned to roads, and it's wrong to fine or imprison someone for breaking a random mph number, because how can you know if that person can safely drive that fast or not? We don't allow unconstitutional prior restraint because it violates the First Amendment, and gun control is simply prior restraint which violates the Second. Drug use is in fact a victimless crime. Notice I didn't say driving while high, robbing a bank to afford to get high, etc. That's a argumentative fallacy. And taxation is wrong, because you're effectively stealing from someone, in a pay-to-play type system. It's wrong when the mafia does it and it's wrong when an individual does it, but somehow it becomes *not* theft when done by government? Taxes don't pay for the country, the country will exist after government, and it will operate just fine.
User avatar #23 to #15 - defensive (04/10/2013) [-]
Oh god. Do you know how dumb you sound? You can't justify giving guns to murderers and robbers because 'It violates the constitution'. They are felons for God's sake. The fact that you practically admitted to being a teenage pot head isn't helping your anti-tax stance either.
User avatar #27 to #23 - douthit (04/10/2013) [-]
First, when did I say I want to give guns to murderers and robbers? Second, I never said I'm a teenager. And third, I never said I use pot. If you want to know the truth, I'm not a teenager, and I've never used pot, tobacco, or alcohol. But that doesn't mean I want to throw people in cages for doing it.
User avatar #30 to #27 - defensive (04/10/2013) [-]
When you said you don't allow 'unconstitutional prior restraint' in regards to withholding guns from people. Your anti-tax stance suggest that you are a young person who doesn't understand how a country is funded and maintained. The way that you hate the police for enforcing drug laws suggests that you have an interest in drugs or have previously tried them. Overall you are not selling your case.

Look up Brian Bates and watch some of his videos, you dense slab of concrete. Prostitution is not some girls on the street making money. It's violent, murderous pimps who kidnap and get girls addicted to drugs, beat them, and control them for the rest of their lives, until they **** up and get murdered.

Why do you think I joined the military? #58 to #24 - anon (04/10/2013) [-]
Laws are in place to ensure a safe/sane society and protect the people covered under them. Police officers enforce laws. Police officers protect the people.
