Most of us are, but few realize the outcome. No matter what it would take the US a hundred years to recover. Not only that, who would take power? What if it's even worse? I'd rather start voting the assholes out. there needs to be a new party with common ground that primarily supports the constitution. the libs and cons are both full of **** , yet they win every single ****** election. It's disgusting.

You think freedom is your ally? You merely adopted freedom. I was born in it, molded by it. I didn't see repression until I was already an industrialized nation. By then, it was nothing to me but blinding! Freedom betrays you, because it belongs to me!

America was born into freedom? Didn't you guys fight a war of Independence...
#164 to #83 - anon (04/10/2013) [-]
Yeah, no. We didn't fight in the War of Independence because the United States of America was formed BECAUSE of that war. The 13 colonies were fighting to break away from England's empire. We were born out of a war for freedom.

User avatar #17 to #14 - Crusader (04/10/2013) [-]
Well, no.
Technically all it did was expand what we already had.
We were free in 1867 when we formed our own government, but kept the queen as a figurehead, and we had to consult with British Parliament on certain things, mainly military, which makes sense because Canada usually doesn't get into conflicts alone.
All the Canada Act did was take away the need to consult Britain.

Still, we managed to get our freedom by asking nicely.
User avatar #18 to #17 - jjrod (04/10/2013) [-]
That's our luck. In America, we fought a freaking war for independence. Canada asked nicely and it worked!

#202 to #198 - Uranium (04/10/2013) [-]
Fought like tigers and died like flies in some cases and they knew it was going to happen which is why they sent Empire troops in the first place. The British were assholes that way

Funny though it is.

It is the same kinda thing with the vatican. A country within a county but also part of the bigger whole. So yes, the country of hong kong. Don't believe me? Go hit up wikipedia ;)
Also the article this was based:
Jup, country of hong kong.

American government (well the people that run it) and the general public really piss me off.
It aint the 1950's anymore and **** changes despite the fact that no one here seems to believe it. It's getting to the point where freedom is starting so sound more like a propaganda slogan being preached by the "prefect minds" and elites running the country. With every incident that happens, we seem to loose freedoms. The sad part is that I can't say they are the ones taking them. We actually give them away because we as Americans are always caught up in the moment (and I'm sure the mass media is a huge cause for that) always expect instant gratification, even if it means giving up freedoms. What people don't realize is that once we give up those freedoms, we don't get them back (prohibition is the only exception I can recall).
With each day that passes, I wish less and less to be apart of "the American dream"
if this is what it's going to be.
