OC. I actually published this in my school newspaper to ask a girl to prom (it's kind of a subtle Easter Egg, if you didn't notice.) She said yes. Gettin Laid Tonight.

Funny 'cause it's true. I always laugh when I see videos of these kinds of "musicians" where they pretend to be keeping busy turning knobs and stuff so it looks like they're actually doing something instead of just clicking play on the laptop and checking their email.

opinion incoming

not saying skrillex is great my any means.
electronic music artists can't just preform the music like other music artists, thats why most focus on the presentation with lights and stuff

don't hurt me

Who here actually makes electronic music? Who here actually knows how difficult, time consuming, and frustrating it actually is?

it takes a lot of patience and dedication to master a music production program.

i still find it strange that there are no real instruments

Have a look at the list of songs in the bottom left panel - one of them is titled 'Lindsey, Prom?'

You know, my problem isn't with the music. If you like rock, listen to it. If you like dubstep, listen to that. If you like to hear the ******** sounds of rocks thrown into a washing machine, hell be my guest and do what you want.
My problem is, that when someone stand up on a stage, PLAY music, not just press one button. Because then you aren't a performer. Anyone else could press "Play".
Yes, I understand: only Skrillex is able to make this kind of music. But why would you go to a concert? You could just listen to this at home, from you media player, with your friend. Why would you pay insane ammounts of cash when you are not hearing live music? You are hearing the same thing you would play it through any kind of device.
And if you are going there for the atmosphere, then you are just condtadicting yourself.
Also, I recommend watching a scene from the Sarah Silverman Program, when they are going to a jam-band concert. It is somewhat relevant.
TLDR: Why the concert for a media player?

>MIDI controllers, software (Traktor, Ableton, FL Studio) effects processors, etc.

Not that I'm such a huge Skrillex fan or anything, but seriously. Theres a lot more involved than pressing a play button. Take Madeon for example, theres A LOT that goes into his live sets.

Alright, for all of you close minded ***** who ACTUALLY think it takes no talent to make an electronic song; Take a look at this.

First off, some of the synths, it's how we make the sounds.
I can tell you right now, it's not ******* easy to come up with sounds.

FM8, A synthesizer that uses FM synthesis to create sound.
