>drugs and alcohol

alcohol is a drug

User avatar #21 to #16 - iggyblanco (04/08/2013) [-]
Do you really don't understand the difference between "drugs" and "alcohol", or are you just a smart-ass being overly technical?

the stupidity... it burns

He was saying that alcohol IS a drug, so why say drugs and alcohol when he can just say drugs.

He wasn't saying that he didn't know alcohol is a drug.

I can say my brother and family
My brother is family

I can say the president and government
The president is government

You can say UK and Europe
UK is part of Europe.

I hope this is some kind of trolling

You see, in terms of terms, drugs are usually seen as the illegal stuff, while alcohol is a legal cultural thing, therefor seen as outside of the grouping. I didn't thumb you down because it DOES however intoxicate, one of the characteristics of "drugs"
#19 to #16 - anon (04/08/2013) [-]
Yes... alcohol is definitely a drug

instead of implying you should try to make a comment where someone can see your opinion
this looks like you think alcohol is no drug
User avatar #17 to #16 - waffies (04/08/2013) [-]
well, umm.... technically yes? but so are pharmaceuticals and such. The distinction between them is made because most people understand the generalization of "alcohol" (various beverages we all know) in comparison to "drugs" which is more often used to refer to various illegal narcotics and such

Really? Joe Rogan is one of the more violent comedians when it comes to joke stealing. I am pretty sure he has threatened Carlos Mencia with a beating for joke stealing. Was it a joke stealing thing or did they just come up with the same idea?

To be honest, he can use it on alcohol and drugs or whatever he want too. The difference is that he actually have food, a home, clothes, drinking water and all the necessary things in order to have a decent life. Meanwhile the other person do not have those things and he still uses it on unhealthy items, such as alcohol and drugs, instead of things that would actually help him, like food, drinking water, new clothes etc. Yes I am also fully aware that he might be addicted and it might be hard to quit, I'm just saying.

What's your point, though? He's an adult, even if an irresponsible one, capable of making decisions for himself on what he feels what would make him happy. Regardless of his social standing, he's got a right to destroy himself any way he pleases! Whether you want your money to go towards that is your choice, but I personally take great pride in the fact that I helped cut a man's homelessness short.
User avatar #15 to #11 - lolzordz (04/08/2013) [-]
his point is not whether theyre adult or not. i wouldnt give someone money to destroy themselves. plus money dont solve anyones problems. teaching a man to fish rather than just giving them fish... if anyone had time for that, they is an true hero

If it looks like it's satirical, it defeats the whole purpose of satire.

I lost what little respect I had for Joe Rogan as soon as he started calling Carlos Mencia a "sellout".

Joe Rogan-hosts unrelated reality TV show(Fear Factor) not selling out
Carlos Mencia-hosts crappy comedy TV show complete sellout

I understand that Joe Rogan was more pissed because Mencia was "stealing jokes". Mencia is not a great comedian, that's not exactly a bold statement to make. However, Mencia didn't completely steal everything he had ever done(as Rogan seemed to infer multiple times) and who gives a **** if the guy has a STAGE NAME or a STAGE PERSONA those aren't new things in the business(you think Bobcat Goldthwait sounds like every roll he did in the 80's?).

Sorry, I just can't sit and listen to a judgmental prick that doesn't bother to look in the mirror and point the same finger at himself.
