It's a very special bike
User avatar #64 to #35 - outerfiend (04/08/2013) [-]
how the **** does he kill a seal with his bike?
#55 - datgermanguy ONLINE (04/08/2013) [-]
Perhaps the bike is so expensive because it is made from a material that never breaks, and pokeballs sometimes break while catching pokemon with a high level.

Say that to Misty.

Maybe she bought it from another bike store

But there's only one in all of Kanto, Cerulean, where she and her sisters grew up.

I think we're mixing the game and the anime too much. In the anime, the towns were much bigger, and there should be more bike stores.
User avatar #1 - mikeyness (04/07/2013) [-]
Bikes were made to be $1 above the maximum amount of money you could have in the game, so you can never outright buy one! But there's always some dude who gives you one for no reason :P
#2 to #1 - traelos (04/07/2013) [-]
I totally did not know that!
User avatar #4 to #2 - mikeyness (04/07/2013) [-]
Well now you do!
User avatar #41 to #1 - matoob (04/08/2013) [-]
heh, is funny cos you you actually can buy the bike
User avatar #3 to #1 - TrickyTehDj (04/07/2013) [-]
I remember a kid in my class tell me he bought the bike without the bike voucher. He went around bragging to all of his friends.
+1

User avatar #51 - payseht (04/08/2013) [-]
It's like comparing a mobile phone with a car
One can access the largest database in history filled with an incredible amount of the sum of human knowledge, can provide entertainment, social needs, global up to date information (from international news to current weather), can record video, photo, audio, most available (and readily available) books, and is most used in case of emergencies (calling the police/ambulance/fire department, or looking up how to solve a lesser emergency by yourself)

And the other gets you from point A to point B faster than walking.
User avatar #52 to #51 - payseht (04/08/2013) [-]
I posted before finishing my point

Yet one is far more expensive than the other. It's all a matter of how easily you can manufacture and ship your product.
#63 - arigsxc (04/08/2013) [-]
Hey misty thats a pretty nice million dollar bike... it'd be a shame if someone... stole it
User avatar #17 - nanapopo (04/08/2013) [-]
Time to be "that guy"

-pokeballs are 200
-its yen not pounds
-wtf is this subatomic ******** ? does this person even know what that means? What makes most sense is they are stored virtually similar to the way the PCs work
#19 to #17 - repostsrepost (04/08/2013) [-]
Actually, the icon indicating pokecurrency is most similar to the symbol for pounds. If it was Yen, Yen per dollar is currently trading at 98.35 making the bike still $10,000. I also hate to be that guy.
#30 to #19 - ichbinlecher (04/08/2013) [-]
The 10,000 dollar bike doesn't make much sense, but other items are fairly priced. Heck, post cards are $.50. That's way cheaper than most gas stations, which is what pokemarts basically are.
User avatar #40 to #30 - kiingofaces (04/08/2013) [-]
It's a damn good bike.

I've never known a pokemon game to use pounds.

But here's an interesting fact; due to EU gamblign laws, the slots game was taken out of SS/HG for the European releases, and instead you play voltorb flip and cannot buy coins.
User avatar #9 to #7 - karvarausku ONLINE (04/07/2013) [-]
What kind of ******** are you saying?
I tell you that I have had gameboy color with pokemon red and blue and gba pokemon ss and there wasn't anything like that...
User avatar #13 to #9 - HeeroYuy (04/08/2013) [-]
luckily, he didn't talk about those games.... unless of course you mean soul silver on the DS, the system it was on.

Well it's still a form of gambling; there's only so much you can work out where the voltorb is, and then it's guess work.

is it bad that the only thing i thought of when i saw this was that they didn't factor in exchange rates for pokedollars and pounds?
User avatar #21 to #14 - kingarturi (04/08/2013) [-]
No i questioned the exchange rate of a pokedollar and a Canadian dollar myself.
