BUT WHY?!?
User avatar #8 - OsamaBinLadenz (04/07/2013) [-]
This happens to me randomly, and then it'll fix itself after 2-3 minutes, the internet access will last for 5 minutes, then repeat the process for hours, it'll fix itself randomly for a few hours, and then begin again... It pisses me off.

I've got the same problem...
What OS do you have?
User avatar #25 to #23 - OsamaBinLadenz (04/08/2013) [-]
Windows 7

Maybe your zone network is just too full at those times.

I've had that problem for a while, and first I thought it was a Linux Mint problem and reinstalled it and all but it didn't solve it. I googled it a bit and found something about the ISP giving less speed at certain times or the network being just too full.

Granted for me due it's to the fact that my stepfather's an asshole who blocks me from connecting to the internet for no reason.

How the **** do you even fix this?
User avatar #21 to #9 - jibb (04/07/2013) [-]
Restart your computer.
Use the "search for errors" tool ( I don't know what it's called in english).
The latter is really good and it works most of the time. It's just FJ who mocks it without reason. Why am I defending a repair tool
User avatar #10 to #9 - mrstalin (04/07/2013) [-]
I fix mine all the time, it isn't permanent, but it helps for a few hours at least for me anyway. Unplug the power and disconnect the cable from the router, wait 20 seconds, then plug everything back in. Works 80% of the time with me.
User avatar #11 to #10 - beamersmack **User deleted account** (04/07/2013) [-]
Dammit, I can't do that at the location of my problem. At home nothing is weird, but always when I go to a local game shop called "Mad Hatter's" this happens. And only to a few computers connected to the internet, the rest will work fine.
User avatar #12 to #11 - mrstalin (04/07/2013) [-]
Sounds like an issue with the settings on the computer then, not the router. Try restarting it (I know it's cliche, just work with me), and if that doesn't work, open IE, and when it fails to show the webpage, diagnose the problem (it has a tool for that), and it will tell you what's going on. Google it from there, and find the most trusted source you can, and fix it if you can.
User avatar #13 to #12 - beamersmack **User deleted account** (04/07/2013) [-]
I'll try the IE thing as much as it hurts me to even have IE on my laptop. Restarting never helps, I've done it several times.
User avatar #16 to #13 - mrstalin (04/07/2013) [-]
Good luck, and one last thing, Microsoft has a nice little program called Microsoft Security Essentials, and it helps get rid of a good chunk of problems if it's virus related. It's entirely free. I'm not saying it will fix stuff, but hey, it's a start.

Wow, in a world where household internet speeds are averaging around 13.5 Mbps and everything is managed by similar linksys and cisco routers, it amazes me how many people can't manage one.
