But she didn't say that bad witches are ONLY ugly. Just because no good witches are ugly doesn't mean no bad witches are pretty. So she still has to check.

... I hate being a metaphysics degree minor.

Did she say ALL bad witches are ugly or ONLY bad witches are ugly?

Glenda is the first woman/character on TV that I remember thinking was beautiful. I was very young, of course. She glowed kind of like an angel, and that fascinated me.

Speaking of being very young...those flying monkeys freaked me the **** out!

Margaret Hamilton wasn't exactly ugly in her younger days.

The bad witch doesn't really seem that bad. She's just trying to get her sister's shoes back from the bitch who crushed her with a house.

Prepare for your mind to be blown:
There are 4 witches in Oz (one for each direction). One is dead by the time Dorothy arrives, but we don't know what happened to her. Dorothy's house crushes the second witch. The third witch, Gelinda the Good Witch, allows Dorothy to take the freshly dead witches shoes. At this time, Gelinda knows full well that if Dorothy taps those ruby shoes together she can go home right at that instant. But Gelinda doesn't tell Dorothy that, does she? No, instead she sends Dorothy on a treacherous trek to the Wizard of Oz. On the way, Gelinda also makes sure Dorothy keeps the shoes so the fourth witch (the Wicked Witch) has a reason to hate Dorothy. By the end of Oz, Dorothy kills the Wicked Witch and reveals that the Wizard of Oz is no great man at all, but just a quite ordinary man behind a curtain. It is at this time that Dorothy teleports back home. Upon Dorothy's exit, 2 witches are dead and Oz is revealed to be a fraud. Gelinda is the only magical being left in all of Oz. Gelinda orchestrated the entire ordeal as a massive power play to completely take over Oz.

Glenda was the evil one. I can remember telling my Grandad that when I was 7, and he replied he was worried I was that cynical at that age.
