Unless it's Black Ops 2 because then the splitscreen is **** due to the HUD elements taking up the entire goddamn screen

I hate the majority of splitscreen. I like MMO FPSes and multiplayer platformers, or turntaking things.

It seemed cool, but the map looks ugly and there's some graphical glitches that only me and some friends would be bothered by it
User avatar #188 to #185 - xIArcticIx (04/06/2013) [-]
yeah. I think it was rushed out. but it is till a great map for forge.
User avatar #191 to #188 - Xaftz (04/06/2013) [-]
Don't wanna sound like a nostalgia fag, but After Halo 3, forge has never been the same, it's so much nicer but not as fun for some reason
User avatar #195 to #191 - xIArcticIx (04/06/2013) [-]
yeah. Although Forge was made to make maps for creation. Halo 3 was their experiment and Halo Reach was where they wanted to make it as expansive as possible which I kinda didn't like. so much area gives you way too many choices which 343i wanted to fix by giving different pallet choices and narrow it down for people! But you are right. H3 Sandtrap with fusion coils around and driving into them flying everywhere was awesome!
User avatar #201 to #195 - Xaftz (04/06/2013) [-]
Omg the nostalgia of playing on all those maps... damn I miss when Halo 3 was popular and everyone played custom games
User avatar #242 to #201 - xIArcticIx (04/06/2013) [-]
yep. I wish Halo 4 got more positive feedback. Could have been a great game if people learned to adapt but oh well. btw, H2 Anniversary 2014

If that gets a hd remake, I'll be on that in a heartbeat. I loved all the mp maps for halo 2 and 3 the most. Especially Zanzibar in H3

I just think of COD as action and Battlefield as strategy...
#222 to #65 - anon (04/06/2013) [-]
Only real difference between Battlefield and CoD multiplayer is that Battlefield has destructible terrain and there is a point to being a sniper (though sniper rifles are somehow ******* trumped by shotguns at all ranges in BF3)
#106 to #65 - anon (04/06/2013) [-]
But both games have both of those things....
User avatar #103 to #65 - capslockrage (04/06/2013) [-]
CoD takes loads of strategy, at least for competitive play
#223 to #103 - anon (04/06/2013) [-]
Not really. Just requires fast reflexes considering most guns kill within 4 bullets no matter where you hit. Apparently CoD (and Battlefield seeing as it's the same **** ) troops haven't discovered the glory of a bulletproof vest.
User avatar #237 to #223 - capslockrage (04/06/2013) [-]
Winning games takes a ton of strategy, you don't just kill things and hope for the best

cod and battlefield play differently. they may have the same concept of first person shooter but the gameplay itself is very different. cod is a fast paced, ********** shooter where you're pretty much guarenteed to die again and again in smaller maps that push the players closer together to keep the action high. battlefield is a more tactics based shooter where it's easy to get overwhelmed by most of the team going for a single objective. the gameplay is slower and has more to offer in the way of vehicles without making you underpowered on foot. i prefer battlefield myself but i understand the appeal of cod.

tl;dr there's a difference and neither fan base is wrong.
User avatar #181 to #168 - xIArcticIx (04/06/2013) [-]
Just like the Halo and Cod argument. Both series are good. CoD is fast pace on your feet. Halo is mid pace and again quick on your feet. I don't understand why so many people try to destroy games because they are different than what they play.
User avatar #192 to #181 - rockerrocksixty (04/06/2013) [-]
now halo and cod are way different. you can't even one shot without a power weapon in halo.
#196 to #192 - xIArcticIx (04/06/2013) [-]
*cough boltshot cough* but yeah. I hate people comparing both. the games are spectacular is campaign and multiplayer. Both are just different sides of the FPS genre.
User avatar #213 to #196 - rockerrocksixty (04/06/2013) [-]
well the pocket shotgun is b.s. anyways. also halo's storyline actually tells a story. the other games just follow a military squad around for a bit. halo is barely comparable to cod or battlefield. in fact, besides the fps part i'd say the games are continents away from eachother. of course, i'm still not saying halo's better than the other two, i'm just saying they're very different games.
User avatar #241 to #213 - xIArcticIx (04/06/2013) [-]
Yep. I agree. Although I'd take my Halo any day over CoD & Battlefield but yeah, comparing the three just doesn't add up.
User avatar #50 - EventHorizon (04/06/2013) [-]
I just started playing BF yesterday after years of CoD playing... they are two completely different games:

CoD = Mostly lone-wolf fast-paced kiddy-physics with high entertainment value
BF = Most enjoyment can be had through squad and team-based tactics, with realistic bullet physics and gun operation

They're both fun for sure. I actually find I like BF3 more because of the difficulty that physics add to sniping. But unfortunately the replay value isn't as high as CoD.
#204 to #50 - anon (04/06/2013) [-]
And for bf3, don't forget the occasional "Look at this faggot tailing my jet, I think I'll jump out and blow him up with a rocket"
User avatar #215 to #50 - nigeltheoutlaw (04/06/2013) [-]
>the difficulty that physics add to sniping
I actually find sniping SO much easier in BF3 than CoD since I can actually kill people with it and your bullets actually injure them rather than being just a flesh wound.

When I get bored of actually playin BF I either try to shoot down jets with my tank or race around in the jeep and piss off the enemy team. It adds infinite replay value to it.

I prefer BF2: BC2 over BF3.
#56 to #50 - bentense (04/06/2013) [-]
Same here. I bought it around 7 months ago and played it a little but it wasn't until last week that I started playing BF3 again and I've been playing it pretty much non-stop since. I like the fact that there's a good amount of variety and it actually takes teamwork to do good.

Honestly, why can't everyone think like you. Jesus, why does one always have to be superior, like the whole Xbox vs. PS3 fanboy debate, can't they just both be good systems, with individual exclusives, and features. I'm rustled

Ok, listen up good and proper.

Battlefield (Series 1 - 3) Is a tactical multiplayer, yeah you do get your players that play like they - try - to own the server but that never works. Teamwork is the key in the game. The diversity within the game is amazing, air strikes, transport for fast flanking, tanks locking down strategic points, etc...

Call of Duty (Series 1-3, Mw 1-3 inc BO) Not gonna lie, has a really good single player campaign. The multiplayer on the other hand (In my personal opinion) does lack in quite allot of qualities. Too many hot-heads, kill streaks (never got the point of it), yes it is quite a competitive game but I fail to see the team based influence. It's more of a lone wolf domination type shoot-em-up. Nothing wrong with that, just depends what you want out of you game.

The two games can NOT be compared. One is more strategey, one is more all out blitz ************** type of game.

To be honest I have lost where I am going with this because I have had a few beers.

I bid you all good day.

User avatar #177 to #144 - flemsdfer (04/06/2013) [-]
I never understood killstreaks in the game either. It's a main part of why I don't play. MW3 made it easier by letting you keep your kills toward a streak when you die, but only let you choose less powerful killstreaks to balance it. Even with that when I got something high up the game was over because the counter was up. I never got to use my killstreak when I finally got a high one because killing that many people ended the game and I just can't work with that.

I feel theres no teamwork in battlefield, i try to play with some friends, but it often ends in rage because of some retarded **** in the game.

I loved PS2 to start with, being one of the early alpha testers. But it just became so boring after a while, and those epic battles turned into ************ , where there was no tactics or order, only chaos.
Also, way too often people would kill me with their goddamned vanu or NC guns, even if i had already got a few shots in them with my TR gun :C
User avatar #3 to #2 - iamkagji ONLINE (04/05/2013) [-]
I play as a sniper, no matter what game it is. I have always wanted to be a Marine Scout Sniper, and I am enlisting this August, so it just feels right. When I play Planetside 2, we have a squad for infantry, a squad for armor, a squad for air and a squad of snipers. I am always put in command of the sniper squad since I can read the battlefield better than anyone else. We usually pair up and take cover in the hills and rocks surrounding the location and call out target, making sure that everyone has a full sitrep for the duration of the battle. When everyone listens and does what they are supposed to, just our platoon can take The Crown easily.
